Välkommen! For the uncultured of you that means WELCOME, to this, the first heat of Buzzfestivalen 2015! The real mccoy is sadly entering its final stages for yet another year, and what a year it has been. After 2013 had dreadful songs and last year having terminal presenters and sketches, 2015 has seen a wonderful return to form. Not even the absence of MELODI NUMMER ÅTTA has put a dampner on proceedings. Let us rewind to 7th February to Göteborg, where the first heat took place and remind ourselves of the smörgåsbord of musical delights on offer.


Melodi 1 | I'll Be Fine, Molly Pettersson Hammar
Poor Molly. After not being seen in Sweden since her 4th place Idol finish in 2011, this was her BIG RETURN (or debut? idk) to the Swedish music industry. With a song straight out of the recording studios of Ella Henderson and John Newman, 'I'll Be Fine' was never going to win the whole thing, but I like many a Swede was shocked to see it flop on its arse in 6th place. Calls of a voting SCANDAL came with the new app apparently ballsing it all up for old Mol. It did however, give us another screenshot reaction CLASSIC to sit alongside a crushed Måns in 09 and the opening to Sanna's 'I'm In Love' in 2011.



Melodi 2 | Pappa, Daniel Gildenlöw
There's very little I can find to say about this. A tedious song sung by Howard Donald's long lost Nordic cousin. A deserved last place in the real thing and I'm guessing the same here. Just don't challenge him to a staring contest. YOU'LL LOSE AND HAVE YOUR SOUL TAKEN AWAY.



Melodi 3 | One By One, Elize Ryd & Rickard Söderberg
I will now refer to them as Tirren so marvelously put it, Ell & Rikki. A huge Buzzjack favourite here. Amarenthe's lead singer and a fabulously over the top opera singer. WHAT'S NOT TO LOVE? Sadly Sweden is not Buzzjack and they crashed out in 5th place against Jessica Andersson. That could be because they didn't end the song with a MONEY NOTE but we'll never truly know. I think Ell & Rikki will fare a lot better here, but can they go direkt till (final location TBA)?



Melodi 4 | Hello Hi, Dolly Style
WHAT WOULD CAROLA THINK OF THIS? She'd probably say it's f***ing amazing and as WELL SHE SHOULD. When the Dollies were first confirmed to be taking part in Melodifestivalen, many of us weren't overly excited about the prospect of a YOHIO girlband entry. All of us however proceeded to SHUT UP when the CHORUS OF THE YEAR presented itself in rehearsals. Cue hysteria from tens of online gays and Iz and you've got yourself a firm Buzzjack favourite. The Dollies did well and made it to AC where they were eventually knocked out FOR THE GREATER CAUSE.



Melodi 5 | Det rår vi inte för, Behrang Miri feat. Victor Crone
Måns may well be the winner of the real thing this Saturday, but let's not forget he is part responsible for THIS. I'm surprised scandipop haven't made this their main policy in their campaign to stay well and truly up Saade's arse. Returning from his 2013 AC hit, 'Jalla dansa sawa', Behrang was probably a good bet to go direkt pre contest. Sadly, the song doesn't get going until 2:30 and well, in a 3 minute song, that's no good at all. Attempts to sway the Swedes in AC last weekend did sod all and Behrang found himself left behind in AC for the 2nd time. Victor Crone is quite nice to look at though if you must push me for a positive thing to say here.



Melodi 6 | Can't Hurt Me Now, Jessica Andersson
REMEMBER THIS? It's the real housewife of Stockholm Jessica Andersson herself. A true MF veteran, with classics 'I Did It For Love' and 'Käller nätter' under her belt. She's also a previous WINNER as part of the duo Fame, who won back in 03 with 'Give Me Your Love'. It came to many as a shock to see this go DTG back in Göteborg. Maybe the app really screwed up the results of the heat, we'll have to wait for the full results breakdown (*.*) in about a week or so. Jess finds herself with the only ballad in the real MF final, but will she be able to make it in the Buzzverse?



Melodi 7 | Sting, Eric Saade
THAT picture hasn't got better in 6 weeks has it? What happens when your career all goes a bit The Saturdays? You run back to what made you a star in the first place, that's what. And that's exactly what our lovely Eric did. After 'Manboy' and all around MAX TRACK OF LIFE 'Popular', 'Sting' was, well, rather a let down. I remember hearing the 30 second preview and not even 10 seconds it was clear it was all over for Eric I have come around to 'Sting' a lot since purchasing (one of us had to!!1) the CD and I do love it. His popularity in Sweden was still strong enough to secure a direct final placing, but will Buzzjack be as kind? The gays are a fickle old bunch.
