Announced by the man himself on twitter

Posted by: Atonement Sep 21 2016, 04:56 PM

Great album title.

Looking forward to it!

Posted by: Cremey Sep 21 2016, 06:03 PM

Wow. What a cover 🙌🏼

Posted by: Atonement Sep 21 2016, 06:10 PM

Stunning!

Apparently there are 18 tracks on the album (please let it be 18 full tracks, I don't like interludes they're too indie and 90's for me).

Posted by: popchartfreak Sep 21 2016, 06:23 PM

The title will be approved of by my many Legion Of Super-Heroes fanfriends - I presume the lack of a space is enough to hold off any copyright issues over Star Boy.... ohmy.gif In the same way as THE Karate Kid avoided Karate Kid copyright and Dream Girls, Dream Girl copyright.

Posted by: mdh Sep 21 2016, 06:27 PM

So I take it the debut single is out tomorrow??

Posted by: Bjork Sep 21 2016, 07:11 PM

this had totally passed me by

Posted by: Davidson Sep 21 2016, 07:19 PM

that cover is legendary

Posted by: HausofTravis Sep 21 2016, 07:22 PM

The last album didn't grab me at ALL but I have so much time for the Trilogy set and for some moments across 'Kiss Land' so I am intrigued for this. I need him to go back to what made him so special before he blew up.

Posted by: Mack Sep 21 2016, 09:49 PM

Really looking forward to hearing the full project from him.

Posted by: Bjork Sep 22 2016, 06:03 AM

the single with Daft Punk is already out on Spotify!!

Posted by: Atonement Sep 22 2016, 06:15 AM

I'm not blown away but I really like it. I had the urge to play it twice (despite being late for class), so that must count for something?

It's already blowing up on US iTunes. My 3 faves all releasing albums this year and somehow I'm still alive ⚰

Posted by: mdh Sep 22 2016, 06:36 AM

On first listen it's pretty good - I will be revisiting again.

Posted by: Pavel Sep 22 2016, 06:46 AM

Somehow even more terrible than the stuff from his previous album. Please stop.

Posted by: Pavel Sep 22 2016, 06:47 AM

Cremz, I am starting to worry about your music taste hun x

Posted by: mdh Sep 22 2016, 06:48 AM

What we REALLY NEEDED, was a King of The Fall and Often crossbreed. Love.

Posted by: Cremey Sep 22 2016, 07:20 AM

Haha Pav I hadn't even commented on him in general, just said I loved the artwork!
'Beauty Behind the Madness' was shit but this is a step in the right direction for me, much more subtle. Definitely giving me 'Often' vibes, and that chorus 🔥

Posted by: Joe. Sep 22 2016, 07:55 AM

I'm going to start by being the first person to say I really like it. All the singles other than Often irritated me on the last album, so this is an improvement.

I'm addicted to this song. Been playing it on repeat for past 15 minutes. Also love that album cover. Hopefully this album is better than BBTM.

Posted by: Froot. Sep 22 2016, 12:03 PM

LOVE this! The two sounds work surprisingly well together and the 'look what you've done' bits are amazing.

Posted by: burbe Sep 22 2016, 01:02 PM

I'm quite liking this! Not completely blown away, but it's decent.

But it's got Acquainted, Angel and a Lana Del Rey collaboration. What more can you ask for?

Posted by: Cremey Sep 22 2016, 01:14 PM

Yeah I'm addicted to this now. Had it on repeat all day.
Definitely the most I've loved something of his since Trilogy!

Posted by: Atonement Sep 22 2016, 03:27 PM

Yess Cremey is back on the good side.

Finally back from class so I can have this on repeat.

Posted by: mdh Sep 22 2016, 03:46 PM

This is AMAZING OH MY GOD. I'm obsessed.

Posted by: mr_pmt Sep 22 2016, 04:50 PM

Spectacular production... but it does go on and on.

Posted by: Ðøßßø Sep 22 2016, 05:51 PM

Not even halfway through & I'm bored already.

Posted by: Chez Wombat Sep 22 2016, 06:05 PM

I really like this! It's only missing some robot vocals from Daft Punk that aren't just 'ha ha' :'( I'll take anything I can get from them though, glad to see The Weeknd doing some more subtle stuff again.

Exactly the opposite. He's gone to shit and he doesn't seem to ever want to come back. The Trilogy stuff was pure PERFECTION. This is trash. Selling out does that to you sometimes.

Posted by: jakewild Sep 23 2016, 10:57 AM

this is giving me har mar superstar teas

luv it

Posted by: Pavel Sep 23 2016, 11:51 AM

i hoped at least JAKE would be #teampavel on this but nope, joined the dark side as well sad.gif

Posted by: HausofTravis Sep 23 2016, 04:32 PM

I really like this! ohmy.gif I can't see how it's him selling out at all, it's a definite throwback to what made him so special in 'TRILOGY' with a progression in terms of production (thanks to Daft Punk too). Yeah I can get behind this for sure, FINALLY back with him if this continues.

Posted by: HausofTravis Sep 23 2016, 04:33 PM

#teameveryonebutPav

Posted by: Joe. Sep 23 2016, 04:34 PM

I've been addicted to this. Superb.

Posted by: cqmerqn Sep 24 2016, 11:08 AM

This is so dull and boring.

Posted by: dandy* Sep 24 2016, 11:18 AM

Definitely one of his better efforts since Trilogy and like Haus I can hear elements of Trilogy in the melody whilst it is also a progression... so yep, I love this too - sorry Pav!

Posted by: HausofTravis Sep 25 2016, 07:26 PM

Gets better the more time you give it. The chorus is so hypnotic.

Posted by: mdh Sep 25 2016, 09:38 PM

INSANE. Already spun it like 30 times.

Posted by: Doctor Blind Sep 25 2016, 09:45 PM

It's his best single for a while, I expect this will be a grower.

Posted by: Jake Sep 26 2016, 11:09 AM

it's absolutely incredible 👙

Posted by: Davidson Sep 26 2016, 12:31 PM

It is so bloody good.

Posted by: blacksquare Sep 28 2016, 05:26 PM

The production though

So good

Posted by: rob s Sep 28 2016, 05:39 PM

Sublime video, this is sounding very good too, easily his best song for me.. can't get the "look what you done" chorus out of my head!

Posted by: gooddelta Sep 28 2016, 05:42 PM

Instantly beats everything from the last era for me on the first listen, very good.

Posted by: Jade Sep 28 2016, 05:48 PM

I was already really liking this but the video compliments the song so well, even more on board now wub.gif

Posted by: Atonement Sep 28 2016, 06:00 PM

I don't like the fact he's smashing BBTM and CFMF in the video. Liike gurl, that album and that song got you where you are right now and got you that P1 you're driving in and now you're gonna discredit that work? In my eyes that's losing much more credibility than making that record in the first place.

Anyway, the song's a smash and it's looking to be HUGE in the US.

Posted by: Cassidy Sep 28 2016, 06:12 PM

Nomination for Best Video at EMAs already.

Posted by: Pavel Sep 28 2016, 07:09 PM

I really really really reallyyyyyyy dislike everything from this era. His hairstyle which screams I am a sellout. Not the hairdo per se but he fact he wouldn't touch it for YEARS but now caving in. The video which is sooooo self indulgent and not even in an ironic way. The song which is not even that good. It's catchy and no doubt it will be one of the best smashes of the year but it's doing absolutely nothing for me.

He lost the essence I was so hugely captivated by for all these years (well, until Kiss Land oops)... in stardom. sad.gif

Posted by: Pavel Sep 28 2016, 07:11 PM

I knew this will be another Daft Punk in 2013 situation when everyone loved their comeback but I never found it that good. Ironically, Daft Punk are involved in this as well.

Perhaps Daft Punk are the problem 😱

No Pav the problem is u

(love u still)

Posted by: HausofTravis Sep 28 2016, 08:33 PM

Changing his HAIR is selling out? Clutching at straws I think. "Caving in".. to what? Yes that was part of his identity but maybe he wants to evolve as an artist and move away from that identity that everyone has of him. Or maybe he just wanted to GET HIS f***ing HAIR CUT and not keep the same look for over a decade because fans that loved him years ago want him to keep it? laugh.gif

Posted by: Pavel Sep 28 2016, 08:46 PM

I don't have a problem with him changing his style and aesthetic music or anything else-wise but if only good music followed suit...

Posted by: Pavel Sep 28 2016, 08:49 PM

For me everything he's doing right now is trying to appeal to the masses and evidently succeeding at it. I never said if it's good or bad in itself, I just don't like it and I miss the 2011 Abel. 😭

*Thursday on repeat*

*pours a glass of Chardonnay*

Posted by: Cremey Sep 28 2016, 09:10 PM

Must admit I'm sad over the haircut 😭 but loving everything else so far so I can get past it I'm sure :')
Plus his hair now is more like the Trilogy days than ever so if anything he's going back to that look?

Posted by: Joe. Sep 28 2016, 09:11 PM

Hair grows

Posted by: Cucumberella Sep 28 2016, 09:43 PM

Posted by: RobBob Sep 29 2016, 02:40 AM

This is everything I wouldn't expect to like, but weirdly I do. There's a definite charm that keeps luring me back to this, really good stuff.

Posted by: Cremey Sep 29 2016, 07:43 AM

'False Alarm' coming tomorrow.

Posted by: jakewild Sep 29 2016, 01:10 PM

good vid but i still wanted MORE. pretty on theme for him tho i guess

song is still on loop

Posted by: blacksquare Sep 29 2016, 03:57 PM

False Alarm is... unexpected?

I like.

Posted by: Cremey Sep 29 2016, 05:41 PM

Yeah, definitely unexpected haha.

I'm liking it a lot too though, it actually reminds me of Bloc Party in places!

Posted by: Atonement Sep 29 2016, 05:59 PM

I don't know how I feel about 'False Alarm' just yet.

This is doing nothing for me yet again. Subpar at best

Posted by: Jake Sep 30 2016, 10:49 AM

^ i think you need to accept the fact he's never going to be the artist you once loved again

i'm bizarrely loving everything thus far, i never got into indie weeknd but am enjoying this new wave itteration...

Posted by: jakewild Sep 30 2016, 11:06 AM

i wish some of my fav artists WOULD sell out tbh

Posted by: RobBob Sep 30 2016, 01:31 PM

Really liking False Alarm aswell. He's not an artist I ever expected to particularly care for, but really into Starboy and this is another song I can tell I'm gonna want to revisit quite a bit.

Posted by: Ðøßßø Oct 1 2016, 11:27 AM

False Alarm is sounding a lot better, still not amazing but far preferable to Starboy.

Posted by: Atonement Oct 1 2016, 07:45 PM

The video for 'Starboy' has really enhanced the song for me. It has great replay value. 'False Alarm' is good but nothing amazing.

Posted by: Jake Oct 3 2016, 07:05 AM

honestly the reinvention continued to astound me, as an act the weeknd continues to develop and come into his own as a massive popstar...the songwriting on 'false alarm' is utterly superb and standard of 'starboy'

i'm utterly blown away and totally surprised at the same time

Posted by: KWEEN_DEE Oct 3 2016, 01:41 PM

False Alarm is wonderful

Posted by: mr_pmt Oct 7 2016, 10:55 PM

I never would have expected something like 'False Alarm' from him in a million years. ohmy.gif

'Starboy' has also grown massively, I'm loving it.

Posted by: blacksquare Oct 13 2016, 05:26 PM

call of duty realness

Posted by: Atonement Oct 14 2016, 06:27 PM

Visually it's stunning but I don't like it and it doesn't fit the song.

Posted by: lewistgreen Nov 17 2016, 08:42 PM

Party Monster and I Feel It Coming (with Daft Punk) will both be released on Sunday

Posted by: mr_pmt Nov 17 2016, 09:11 PM

I hope Daft Punk put more of their stamp on this one, much as I like 'Starboy'.

Posted by: twentyonemdh Nov 17 2016, 09:47 PM

Why can't it just be Friday ffs

Posted by: Davidson Nov 17 2016, 11:34 PM

1. Starboy (feat. Daft Punk)
2. Party Monster
3. False Alarm
4. Reminder
5. Rockin'
6. Secrets
7. True Colours
8. Stargirl (feat. Lana Del Rey)
9. Sidewalks (feat. Kendrick Lamar)
10. Six Feet Under
11. Love To Lay
12. A Lonely Night
13. Attention
14. Ordinary Life
15. Nothing Without You
16. All I Know (feat. Future)
17. Die For You
18. I Feel It Coming (feat. Daft Punk)

So hyped for The Weeknd ft. Lana part 2!!!!!

Posted by: UltraBasicWitch Nov 17 2016, 11:58 PM

Omg yassss at another Lana collab!!!

Posted by: HarryEzra Nov 18 2016, 12:23 AM

Omg a Lana and Kendrick collab wub.gif

Posted by: ML Hammer95 Nov 18 2016, 09:07 AM

I Feel It Coming sounds more Daft Punk than Starboy does.

Posted by: burbe Nov 18 2016, 05:21 PM

I Feel It Coming is VERY Daft Punk compared with Starboy.

Party Monster is great! ohmy.gif Also some uncredited Lana Del Rey vocals heart.gif

Posted by: Atonement Nov 18 2016, 07:13 PM

I'm not really digging the two new tracks yet. I think they'll grow. His last album was a massive grower for me too.

Very happy there's no duet with Lorde on the album in the end. The track with Lana is apparently just an interlude.

Looking forward to next Friday biggrin.gif.

Posted by: jase. Nov 18 2016, 08:50 PM

DEAD @ the Lana thing only being an interlude sad.gif

Posted by: mr_pmt Nov 18 2016, 08:59 PM

I'm a bit disappointed with 'I Feel It Coming', in that the sound of it is great and it sounded promising but never goes anywhere and properly drags towards the end. sad.gif

Posted by: Davidson Nov 19 2016, 12:30 AM

'Party Monster' is so so good.

'I Feel It Coming' is good too, gives me MJ vibes. Probably my least favourite of the 4 songs so far though.

This album is definitely shaping up to be a big step up from his last one.

Posted by: PeteFromLeeds Nov 19 2016, 07:12 PM

I Feel It Coming is what I would expect from a Weeknd/Daft Punk single. Much better than his other recent stuff

Posted by: blacksquare Nov 19 2016, 08:10 PM

I Feel it Coming is fantastic.

So smooth

Posted by: burbe Nov 20 2016, 04:19 PM

I'm absolutely LOVING Party Monster right now. I think it has the potential to become my favourite by him given time heart.gif

This era so far is fantastic though. I Feel It Coming is probably the weakest and even that is really solid!

Posted by: Atonement Nov 21 2016, 03:37 PM

'I Feel It Coming' is giving me such great vibes. Great album closer I think. 'Rockin'' is also out there now in LQ and it's a certified smash hit.

I pre-ordered the album after hearing 'Rockin'.

My body is ready for it.

Posted by: Atonement Nov 23 2016, 05:42 PM

'Secrets' is coming for BLOOD.

This is almost definitely gonna be album of the year for me... (sorry 'Anti', sorry 'Dangerous Woman'). Possibly album of the decade!

Posted by: Davidson Nov 23 2016, 05:49 PM

So apparently that video includes All I Know, Sidewalks, Secrets, what is rumoured to be Die For You and then obviously Party Monster and I Can Feel It Coming.

After not really being here for the BBTM album at all, I am really excited for this. Seems like a massive step in the right direction.

Posted by: John-James Nov 24 2016, 03:54 PM

It's so much better than his previous effort. Double Lana this time. Shook.

Posted by: Atonement Nov 25 2016, 10:45 AM

Very solid album. Definitely has the possibility to become my favorite of his.

First impression rate:

8.5 Starboy
7.0 Party Monster
8.0 False Alarm
7.5 Reminder
10 Rockin’
10 Secrets
9.0 True Colors
6.5 Stargirl [interlude]
8.0 Sidewalks
7.5 Six Feet Under
8.5 Love to Lay
10 A Lonely Night
5.0 Attention
6.5 Ordinary Life
9.5 Nothing without You
8.0 All I Know
7.5 Die for You
8.5 I Feel It Coming

Posted by: Conderella Nov 25 2016, 02:20 PM

So far the last minute of the song with Kendrick is the only special thing from the whole album.

Posted by: burbe Nov 25 2016, 05:03 PM

It's a very solid album and it flows so well from one song into the next! Initial faves are Party Monster, Rockin', Stargirl, Sidewalks and Six Feet Under.

I've only listened once through but I found it pretty dull on the whole. The two Daft Punk tracks are definitely the standouts.
Obsessed with 'I Feel It Coming'.

Posted by: Davidson Nov 26 2016, 12:32 AM

This is so so much stronger than his last album, which I wasn't really here for at all. This is great.

08.5 Starboy (feat. Daft Punk)
09.0 Party Monster
09.5 False Alarm
08.0 Reminder
08.0 Rockin'
08.0 Secrets
06.5 True Colors
06.0 Stargirl Interlude (feat. Lana Del Rey)
10.0 Sidewalks (feat. Kendrick Lamar)
09.0 Six Feet Under
08.5 Love To Lay
08.0 A Lonely Night
07.0 Attention
09.5 Ordinary Life
07.5 Nothing Without You
06.0 All I Know (feat. Future)
08.0 Die For You
08.0 I Feel It Coming (feat. Daft Punk)

'Sidewalks', 'Six Feet Under' and 'Ordinary Life' are my favourites tracks that we hadn't heard before now.

I do think the whole thing feels too long though. Cut out 'True Colours', 'Stargirl Interlude' (sorry Lana), 'Attention', 'Nothing Without You' and 'All I Know' and you have a much stronger and more concise 13 track album, which really would be totally fantastic from start to finish.

Rating songs at 8 on average yet still saying it's potentially their fave of the year and that it's great is quite confusing if you ask me oops~

This is so uninteresting and dull on the whole. All of my hope and dreams about this potentially being OK have now withered away completely. imma go back to Echoes of Silence if you don't mind bye~~

Posted by: mr_pmt Nov 26 2016, 10:10 AM

'Rockin' sounds a lot like Disclosure, I could even imagine Craig David doing that. It sounds like a big potential future single!

I don't tend to give out loon rates (check other rates I do); never give 11s and very rarely give 10s. Not sure why you felt the need to point it out but I guess The Weeknd still has you pressed, oooooopsss~~~~~~

If this was aimed at my rate, I never claimed that it was my favourite of the year if you look. Also it was a first listen rate so an 8.0 for the first listen of a song is pretty strong in my book. I don't give out 10's just for the sake of showing I like something.

People are allowed to express the fact they are enjoying this the way they see fit, just in the same way you are allowed to criticise it.

Agree with this.I feel like Starboy was essentially a "Deluxe Edition" album since it has 18 tracks on it. Maybe a 10-12 tracks Standard Edition, and the rest of the (filler) tracks marketed as the Deluxe Edition bonus track would be much better.

I sort of like the album. I wouldn't want loads more in this style and it is nowhere near as great as the Trilogy mixtapes but you can make a half decent effort if you combine the highs on this with the best of his last one.

Posted by: Conderella Nov 26 2016, 10:51 PM

I guess I just have another definition of great~ A bunch of songs almost none of which reach 9.0 is not that great in my opinion. At least not in the long run.

Yes we are.

Posted by: HausofHorrors Nov 27 2016, 04:58 PM

Definitely a step up from the last one (lol, not hard) but my god it's LONG. He's never really been one for quality control since each of the individual Trilogy segments. Some really good moments throughout though, I'm a fan ~

THIS!

And 'False alarm' is a jam happy.gif

Posted by: dandy* Nov 27 2016, 07:26 PM

Yes, I really like False Alarm too - as well as Starboy, Party Monster, Rockin', Ordinary Life and I Feel It Coming. I already have Trilogy so don't need another one, this has enough pop highs to justify it's creation for me.

Posted by: blacksquare Nov 27 2016, 07:29 PM

There is potential for a concise quality record but there is just too much uninteresting bloat here. 'I Feel it Coming' remains slinky as hell though, I love it.

Posted by: Jonjo Nov 29 2016, 08:08 AM

His voice is far too whiney to pull off an album this long. Im on track 4 and it's already grating on me! Not sure I can last the whole album tbh.

Posted by: liamk97 Nov 29 2016, 12:00 PM

Listened to this last night. There's some great moments on there but the whole thing is FAR too long, on top of which, a lot of the tracks seem hard to differentiate between. Perhaps they'll stand out more when listening to them individually, rather than as part of the album. If 'I Feel It Coming' wasn't the last track, I'd be convinced I was listening to a deluxe edition.

Posted by: Atonement Nov 29 2016, 05:39 PM

Most of the tracks have grown on me more. I can see why people think it's too long but I love almost all the tracks (only one I don't really see the point of inclusion for is 'Attention' - even though it's not bad it's the only one I wouldn't miss) wub.gif. Hope he can squeeze many hits out of this album.

Posted by: gooddelta Nov 30 2016, 08:07 PM

I'm not overly enamoured with the album overall but I Feel It Coming is glorious, easily my favourite ever song of his, what a gorgeous bassline melody, it's been in my head all week. Rockin' is the only other song I love, fantastic garage throwback <3

I Feel It Coming and Rockin' are both immense, they both need to be big hits.

Rockin' needs to be huge

Posted by: Atonement Dec 5 2016, 02:28 PM

My album rank right now (excluding the interlude 'cause I find it hard to place it on the list). 'Secrets' was one of my favorites in the beginning but the instrumental doesn't really do it for me. Still, it would be a really good single choice.

01. Six Feet Under
02. False Alarm
03. Nothing without You
04. Rockin’
05. A Lonely Night
06. Sidewalks
07. Starboy
08. Party Monster
09. Love to Lay
10. All I Know
11. I Feel It Coming
12. Reminder
13. Die for You
14. Secrets
15. Ordinary Life
16. True Colors
17. Attention

There's enough material on here to stretch out a long album campaign. I think that after 'I Feel It Coming' he should release a song that is not an obvious smash but will still keep interest like 'A Lonely Night' or 'Sidewalks' and then release 'Rockin'' and 'Secrets' later on in the campaign.

One of my least favorites on the album, but I guess it's a good single choice. I still want 'Rockin'' as a single too.

Posted by: mr_pmt Feb 15 2017, 09:03 PM

Yeah, wanted 'Rockin'.

Posted by: lewistgreen Feb 16 2017, 09:42 PM

Rockin is absolutely brilliant, one of the closest I've come to thinking this would be what MJ would be doing in the present day. Obviously, its fantastic in its own right though!

The first half of the album is so good, just need to listen to the second half a bit more kink.gif

Posted by: liamk97 Mar 10 2017, 12:14 PM

Ooh I love the whole look of that video. Very Daft Punk inspired! It suits the song very well too; there was no need for anything particularly complex or grand; the colours and the grainy, retro vibe compliments the mood so well.

Better late than never, mind! Is this only just starting to get a US push or something?

New peak of #48 for Die For You today!!!!

Posted by: jordanlee1402 Jan 6 2023, 06:29 PM

The album is also back in the UK Top 40!

I happened to listen to it in full on my annual New Years Day walk that I do and I think it’s my favourite album from him as a whole.

It’s had quite the resurgence lately and is his highest charting album on our charts from his studio albums ahead of Dawn FM and After Hours. Should manage to get a 100th week on the chart next week too.

Anyone got any idea on the sales of this album? It’s had quite a good chart run and longevity. Even when it debuted at #5 I think it’s opening sales were good as well weren’t they as it was a Q4 release.

Posted by: Brer Jan 7 2023, 04:08 AM

^ its sales were actually given in this week's sales report along with those of 'Beauty Behind The Madness' (and 'The Highlights')!

QUOTE
The chart’s newest centurion, The Weeknd’s second hits album, The Highlights, has been in the Top 40 throughout its 100-week chart run thus far. It takes advantage of the post-Christmas void to improve 7-3 (7,386 sales) this week - the highest position it has achieved since it debuted at No.2 in February 2021. Never dipping lower than No.34, its cumulative consumption of 447,100 units places it third in The Weeknd’s canon behind only his 2015 album Beauty Behind The Madness (652,956 sales) and 2016 album Starboy (541,310 sales).

Unfortunately find 'Die For You' to be a pretty weak song by his standards so it's just a little :') to see it being a bigger hit than basically anything off 'Dawn FM' in the US (looks set to go top 10 this week and could yet still outpeak 'Take My Breath').

Posted by: JLJ Jan 7 2023, 02:49 PM

Oh wow! Those sales for all of those albums are actually impressive and for the studio albums are actually higher than I expected for some reason yahoo.gif

Die for You was always one of my favourites during this era so I’m pleased to see it take off albeit years later.

Posted by: GraceAJX Feb 22 2023, 09:34 PM

Yup! Available for pre-save now. This could be huge, especially in the US...

Posted by: Rooney Feb 22 2023, 10:55 PM

Why did Die For You get big, Tik Tok I'm assuming?

Loved the track at the time, but seems crazy a song is blowing up from 6 years ago when there's been two albums and an EP since then!

Posted by: Brer Feb 22 2023, 10:56 PM

The song is already quite close to #1 on the Hot 100 due to being dominant on radio so this won't need to give it tooooo much of a boost in sales/streams to go to #1 (although whether Ariana gets credited for it is a different question). Probably good timing to sneak it in this week before Morgan Wallen's album drops as well.

More of an open question how high it'll push the song in the UK but definitely at least top 40 I guess.

Yes, it's been huge on TikTok for ages (he also released a music video for it on its 5 year anniversary which I think coincided with it starting to go viral). Then was sent to US radio as a current single despite being several album cycles old. It's a bit annoying when this song is vastly inferior to so many songs on 'Dawn FM' imo but a smart move tbf.

Album holds at #27 in the UK!

It’s been his highest charting album (what’s a studio album!) here for a while now and it’s his longest runner of all his studio albums too. 106 weeks and counting!

I imagine at some point in the not too distant future it’ll cross 2x Platinum over here as well! Even at the time it did pretty well for a Q4 release and before streaming really dominated the albums front but Die for You has really helped this and a few of the other album tracks are getting new daily highs on streaming.

Posted by: Y'all Starlight Feb 24 2023, 09:10 PM

Die for you also at its highest of all-time in the UK Charts at #37!!!!

Posted by: JLJ Mar 3 2023, 07:25 PM

Die for You reaches a new peak of #4 thanks to the remix (although UK wise Ariana isn’t credited) but still this albums now home to three to Top Ten singles.

Album is also #25 this week which is a climb on last week. I guess by year end this may become his best seller from his studio albums?
