This week’s chart
In a week of few new entries, the highest being Journey South at #16, there is little change once again at the top. The same top five dominate, with Enya being at #1 for a third week, and there are climbs for Madonna, Daz Sampson, Orson and Girls Aloud in the top ten. Further down, Hitstastic, Pink and Ne-Yo all climb to new peaks after nine, four and three weeks on the chart respectively.

On the Spot: Making Your Mind Up United Kingdom 2006 contestants
MYMU’s winner Daz Sampson climbs to new peak of #6 this week with “Teenage Life�. He has had recent success in my chart with Uniting Nations’ “Ai No Corrida�, #1 last year. Kym Marsh and Anthony Costa fall though. I think this year, the United Kingdom has a real chance with Daz. The past few years – Javine, James Fox and Jemini have all been poor song choices, and since our triumph in 1997 with Katrina & The Waves, we’ve only really had two major contenders – Imaani (second, 1998) and Jessica Garlick (fourth, 2002).
