I'll wait until the final to do odds as the semi stage is basically pot luck these days and hugely reliant on having a favourable draw. But Unovia is my early tip for the win. Aeroche are definitely coming for a smash too after a couple of quiet months, and could definitely challenge. Jadakissnia and Cor Lupus sounding big again among many others. Another very solid contest, really not very much that sounds like a no-hoper.

Will try and do some predictions in the next couple of days, having now heard all the songs once though Unovia is definitely sounding like the first 'obvious winner' type entry in a while, it seems like one that could pick up points from just about everyone!
(and I would be here for it x)
Poor Jeff missing out on a first winner if that does end up landsliding it 
(but I think Cowtermont should do pretty well too).

I just don't think there's a particularly notable audience for RnB in BJSC these days unless it's REALLY strong. I much prefer it to plenty of songs I bolded, some of which I gave a 3 or 4 out of 10 but I know there's a fair audience for ambient background noise.

I think R&B must be the genre with the lowest hit rate in BJSC, even the more 'out there' genres are generally not sent very often and when they are they'll tend to be very strong examples of their genre that get through by appealing strongly to a niche audience. R&B doesn't really have an audience of its own.

There’s Ben (St. Burbia) but he’s not in this contest 
I think in this case it’s not wrong semi syndrome bc it’s still in this with a handful of pop lovers but more of “wrong contest syndrome”, where it’s stuck with a bunch of strong songs that if it’s marginally weaker than them, it will have a much lower chance of qualifying. I like to think that a lot of DNQ’s would have smashed if they were sent in a different month.

That said, virtually all my r&b entries DNQ'd (if what used to be called "soul" is now rebranded as r&b) and I admit I tend to opt for dance if it's a choice of the 2 just to occasionally get a qualifier

Hard to see past a Unovia win as it really just ticks all the boxes but I'm sure Aeroche, Altyr, Jadakissnia and (fingers crossed!) Wholune will all do very well too. Any of the 12/1 and 14/1 entries could sneak a top five finish too really, it's hard to separate them.

RÜFÜS DU SOL will definitely do better than that! Not sure if it'll manage the same success as their last couple of entries but definitely seems like a safe top 20 or so at the very least. The idea of my song having a better chance of winning seems silly I'll be happy if I can avoid the bottom 3 with this one!
Wholune as a dark horse pick is interesting, another good entry from them so hopefully it can do at least as well as their last entry again.
(I will defo aim to do odds btw after forgetting to get around to doing predictions)

I mean I've no idea below the top five or so, but I'd be surprised at RÜFÜS DU SOL being near the top 10 this time around. And if people penalise it for 'not being as strong as their previous entries', as has been mentioned, it could come a bit lower still. I don't think it will be bottom five, but I just see more active positive hype towards most of the other finalists which could lead many of them into a higher position with a bit of wind behind their sails.
I don't think you'll be anywhere near bottom three either Bré.
Wholune has a monster chorus and really stands out, I know times have changed since Shut Up and Dance came fourth, but it could mop up those sorts of votes, even though it's a bit rockier than that. Maybe wishful thinking, however.

Eep I've never had three consecutive top 10s before let alone top 5s! Keeping everything crossed that this can live up to the hype.
I was also thinking that Vülkyria seemed a bit low - Ojnoj too actually, could see that being a huge smash in a Leon Else kinda way!
