Biography

Marc Kinchen (born 3 August 1972), known by his stage name MK, is an American DJ, record producer and remixer. He hit number-one on the US Billboard Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart in 1993 and 1994 with the songs "Always" and "Love Changes." Lead vocals on both of those tracks were performed by Alana Simon (songs were credited to MK featuring Alana). The combo also recorded the underground house music classic anthem "Burning." "Always" peaked at number 69 on the UK Singles Chart in February 1995. MK also hit the dance chart with "4 You," using the pseudonym 4th Measure Men.

In November 2013, his remix of Storm Queen's song "Look Right Through" was released on Defected Records and Warner Music and reached number-one on the UK Singles Chart.

Aside from his own career as a recording artist, he is also known for the remixes he produced for other artists, such as Celine Dion's single "Misled", which became the first (and only) number-one Billboard Dance/Club Play chart hit of Dion's career. His remixes of Betty Boo's single "Thing Goin' On" brought the song to number five on the same chart. His remixes of "The Message" by Sofia Shinas reached number 20 on the Dance/Club Play chart. He also produced the remixes of Jody Watley's single "Your Love Keeps Working On Me", which reached number two on that chart. Latest remixes and productions include Lana Del Rey, Dev, Enrique Iglesias, Sky Ferreira, Ellie Goulding, Jamie Jones, Lee Foss, and Tricky.

Kinchen is responsible for the iconic remix of the Nightcrawlers' record "Push the Feeling On," which was used almost twenty years later as the basis of Pitbull's global hit record "Hotel Room Service." The remix was successful internationally, becoming a major number three UK hit. He also assisted Nightcrawlers front-man John Reid with a number of his further releases, but they did not have the same impact on the charts.

This is what I found out about Ramz last week

QUOTE
Ramz enters at number 27 with the excruciatingly dull Barking. The teenage singer, also known as Ramone Rochester, comes from Mitcham, an area of London some miles from Barking.

That was all I could find.

I wonder do the proceeds from sales of the Band Aid one each year still go to charity?

Its a weird one to be doing so well, especially as I would class it more a charity song of its time rather than a Christmas song specifically designed to endure like the rest of them. But endure it has!

'17' carrying on the tradition of at least one dance song doing well in the Christmas chart.

Could have been a little bit better with some aspects of the production I think. I don't like the beat too much, the sound quality doesn't sound the best plus some disco violins in it at certain points would have been good!

But still a very good track by today's chart dance standards.

Biography

NF is the stage name of rapper and composer Nate Feuerstein from Gladwin, Michigan. Feuerstein endured a hardship-filled childhood in which his parents divorced, his mother's boyfriend physically abused him, and his mother eventually killed herself. Music was his escape, and he began recording songs on a karaoke machine, with instrumentals on one microphone and his raps in the other. Placing second in a nationwide Fine Arts Festival rap competition in 2008, and first in Michigan the following year, he independently released a debut album, Moments, in 2010. The album attracted the attention of Xist Music, which signed him to a recording deal in 2012, by which time Feuerstein had taken on the stage name NF. The label announced the release of an EP that same year, but it never appeared, and NF and Xist parted ways. NF spent the next two years looking for a label and working with local producer Tommee Profitt in his studio; they came up with the song "Wake Up," which convinced Capitol Christian Music Group to sign him. CMG released a six-song (including a Manny Marroquin remix of "Wake Up") self-titled EP late in the summer of 2014. His debut album, Mansion, was released in early 2015 and reached number 62 on the Billboard 200 while topping the Christian Albums chart. The aptly titled Therapy Session followed in 2016 and also topped the Christian Albums chart with its raw emotions and honest lyrics. The following Summer saw the release of the singles "Outro" and "Green Lights", in anticipation of the arrival of his third studio long player, Perception, whch dropped later that October. - iTunes

Biography

Rak-Su is a British band from Watford who won the fourteenth series of ‘’The X Factor’’. The group is made up of friends Ashley Fongo, Jamaal Shurland, Mustafa Rahimtulla and Myles Stephenson. After winning the show they released their winners single, the original song “Dimelo”, which featured Naughty Boy and Wyclef Jean. The song reached number 1 on iTunes within hours of the final, knocking Ed Sheeran’s duet version of his song “Perfect” with Beyonce off the top. Rak-Su held five of the top six positions on the chart over the next day, including other self-penned songs “Mamacita”, “Mona Lisa” and “I’m Feeling You” (their audition song) as well as the original solo version of “Dimelo”.

The group were mentored by Simon Cowell on The X Factor, along with fellow acts Jack & Joel, The Cutkelvins and Sean & Connor Price. They were voted winners of the Prize Fight in week 4 against Grace Davies, leading to a songwriting session with American songwriter Ali Tamposi. They made the final on the weekend of 2nd December 2017, alongside Kevin Davy White and Grace Davies. After the former was eliminated on Saturday’s show, they were in the top two with Grace and finished as the winners with over 50% of the public vote.

Their winners single was added to streaming services as well as being available for download immediately after the final, with profits going towards the charities Together for Short Lives and Shooting Star Chase. It placed at number 46 on the Official Singles Chart Update the day after the final.

Four of their songs topped the iTunes chart during their run on the X Factor -“Mamacita”, “Dimelo”, “Mona Lisa” and “I’m Feeling You” - but were ineligible for the Official Chart and were not available on streaming services at that time.

I'd like this a whole lot more if the production was better, it sounds so tinny and just like a live recording.
