Glad it wasn't particularly close for anything I voted for - maybe at a push Altyr could have made it up to 3 points from me, but that still wouldn't have been enough.
Thanks everyone who helped send INXS through, and thank you Jack for the results show, fantastic work! |

Math missing out to the deduction indeed then, boo hiss! (could have scraped in even with the 15% deduction depending on which other songs around the qualification borderline he would have voted for). Deduction not affecting Elëdan though as they'd have been last anyway oops - although the lowest scorer in both semis still getting over 20 points (pre-deductions), need to check if that's ever happened before! As per uhsting's post above 26 is a very high score for last place.
I see Herbilore did actually do better out of the two debutants, only 11-12 points away from qualifying, not bad. Land of DW and Jadakissnia finishing in the bottom 3 of the semi is very rude though (even if both with good scores for their positions). |

Of course I came 21st, feels like a good portion of my DNQ’s are missing out by one place

I remember my novelty entry 'The Greenway Song' finished last with two 12 point scores. I think it had one other point so it would have finished last with 25 points.

Shame to lose both debuts - Friedland was a good entry but only made it around halfway into my votes, and Herbilore going a bold route for their first is definitely welcome. Also a shame to lose Jadakissnia and Land Of DW from my votes overall, and both so low.
But on the whole, good results - and excellent gifs throughout Uhsting. |

Aw, just losing my 8pts (Jupiterdonia) and 2pts (Jadakissnia)! Glad everything else got through at least. Uhsting is giving actual Eurovision a run for their money with these graphics, we have to stan

26 is the joint 2nd highest score for last place in a semi-final this side of BJSC 100, only beaten by Skall in BJSC 138 (30 points for Part Time - Ganz Wien). It's technically the joint 12th highest of all time although the top 2 are both special cases so would be in the top 10 if you exclude those: 1 62 BJSC 5 SF1 Tapatilandia // Enrique Iglesias - ¿Dónde Están Corazón? * 2 42 BJSC 100 SF2 Mezidinia // Gaby Henshaw - High Grade ** 3 40 BJSC 24 SF2 Ben's Sanctuary // Darius & Finlay - Rock To The Beat (feat. Nicco) 4 36 BJSC 8 SF2 FNT Nickodonia // ABBA - The Day Before You Came 5 32 BJSC 22 SF1 Utopia // jj - Things Will Never Be The Same Again 6 30 BJSC 138 SF1 Skall // Part Time - Ganz Wien 7 29 BJSC 50 SF2 Greenfroze // Mutine - Pose Tes Mains =8 28 BJSC 60 SF1 Ben's Sanctuary // Milky Chance - Stolen Dance =8 28 BJSC 81 SF1 Tartford // Ola Salo - I Got You (feat. Kleerup) =10 27 BJSC 19 SF2 Stevinia // Asher Roth - She Don't Wanna Man (feat. Keri Hilson) =10 27 BJSC 98 SF1 Lotunia // Crywolf - The Hunger In Your Haunt =12 26 BJSC 39 SF1 ChrIseland // Yogi - Follow U (feat. Ayah Marar) =12 26 BJSC 51 SF2 Launiça // Two Hours Traffic - Wicked Side =12 26 BJSC 112 SF1 Bhangra // Junior J - Save A Little Love (feat. John Gibbons and Therese) =12 26 BJSC 131 SF2 Trifoski // Mother Mother - The Stand =12 26 BJSC 162 SF2 Freidland // KAWALA - American Adrenaline * BJSC 5 only had one semi-final of 12 songs (with the other 15 entries auto-qualifying) ** BJSC 100 used the 18 points voting system in the semi-finals Poor brave Ben's Sanctuary being in the top 10 of this list twice! (also I did check and there have been a few previous contests where last place got 20+ points in both semis, and even a couple where both semi last placers got 25+, the other semi last placers in BJSCs 39 & 60 both got 25 points). I remember my novelty entry 'The Greenway Song' finished last with two 12 point scores. I think it had one other point so it would have finished last with 25 points. Not quite, it was 2nd from last with 27 points! (Last place got 24 points, Arcodesia with The New Regime - Say What You Will). |

It doesn't surprise me that Semi 2 had such a high bar for last place, I really had no idea what would be last or even what the DNQs would be. Certainly there was nothing in that semi deserving of less than 25 points, so I'm glad everyone cleared that.

I don’t think anyone is making poor Freidland feel any better about their result, and as their biggest fan this contest this is an outrage!

Reacting to the results:
This has been one hell of a rollercoaster to follow with the qualifiers changing with every vote, and it was down to the wire It proves one single vote could change everything here! Really sad to lose both Aesthetica and Republic of Adonia in my votes, particularly the latter where they could have qualified had they voted Aesthetica's entry grew on me a LOT and I regretted not giving this more points Lookylion is another tough one to lose and them not qualifying in a Sovarasma-hosted contest arghhhh Herbilore had a really great debut but with a really risky entry. Ballads tend to get overlooked here but I'm glad it got a couple of high points. I hope this doesn't dissuade you to send more heartfelt ballads! Semi-final 2 is a bit more relenting but the standard there is really high. Happy my discovery of the edition that is FSR Rontvia has gone through! Very sad to lose Yehesi though I had an inkling this type of songs won't do well in BJSC but they SHOULD do!! I really want to see more of this style in BJSC. Alas, it was not meant to be I was SUPER SHOCKED to see Altyr Muunilinst out with one of their best entries in a while Hush sounded VERY BIG and I had it down as a winner contender. I don't know what happened here honestly. Freidland did pretty solid on their debut too and I really hope you send more indie stuff to this contest which really freshens up the contest. Shame to lose both debutants |

Another final revelation wave, but with a good ending!
Thanks to all voters so far who enjoyed our most not-Eastovkan-at-all entry. Happy for our top 2 qualifying as well. This post has been edited by Cow P: 25th February 2024, 11:05 PM |

The attention to detail and these graphics — the tension in the GIFs alone. Insane and so well done. *.*
I'm looking forward to hearing just how good these SF2 songs are now. I'll need to check out the Jadakissnia entry too (shook not to see Jade qualify). I thought I played it a little too safe this month so it sounds like I got lucky with the draw. Gang Gang Dance making the final though *.* |

GUTTED for Ingermanlandia, that really is a perfectly crafted and produced pop song but potentially not attention grabbing enough to stand out on first listen.
Delighted and surprised for myself! |

As much as I'm happy everything else qualified from my votes, I'm really not happy with So Below - Hush failing to Q...it's probably my fave song in past month, and I've even sent it in other forum song contest!!!
With that being said, my 18 is up for grabs now...I'll accept offers!!! |
