Posted by: Frank! Dec 17 2011, 01:21 AM

I hope she goes back to her more rock side, as that's what she does best, the pop-rock wub.gif

Posted by: Liаm Dec 17 2011, 01:18 PM

I want something like Try This - it's not my fave Pink album but I liked the general sound. Basically I want classic Pink and also a bit of R&B Pink wouldn't go amiss tongue.gif

Shut up you, shes going to duet with Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Butch Walker & Motley Crue tongue.gif

Posted by: Regina Dec 17 2011, 05:01 PM

No, she will duet with Matt smoke.gif and then Alanis Morissette.

Posted by: Propilot87 Dec 17 2011, 10:28 PM

I don't want another Try This...there were only a couple of songs i really liked from it, and nothing stood out compared to her more recent albums...I want another I'm Not Dead, with a little bit of Funhouse mixed into it.

Posted by: Regina Dec 19 2011, 03:12 PM

I don't really want her to go back to the sound of any of her albums, I want something new.

Posted by: Jonjo Dec 19 2011, 03:42 PM

LOL Grant. Matt has NO chance. We will be getting a P!nk and Kelly Clarkson duet before that and that ain't happening anytime soon! ( mad.gif )

Oh my how amazing would that be.............. Hmm I don't know wink.gif

Posted by: Atonement Dec 21 2011, 09:47 AM

I really, really want her to go back to the Try This sound. I still love that album.

Posted by: SceneofSIXCrimes Jan 3 2012, 11:29 PM

If I'd want this next album to sound like any of Pink's previous albums, I'd go for a mix of M!ssundaztood, Try This and I'm Not Dead.

I want the honesty of M!ssundaztood, the attitude and rock edge of TT and the various themes and rawness of IND. One of Pink's finest moments was 'Dear Mr. President'. I'd love for Pink to touch on politics again. As a whole, I wasn't a fan of Funhouse. I actually found it rather dull tbh. sad.gif I know it's a break-up album but at some point through the record, I think Pink loses her ear for what makes a great album and makes it rather tedious instead. Songs like 'I Don't Believe You', 'It's All Your Fault' and 'Why Did I Ever Like You?' are great, as are many of the other album tracks, but as an album it just didn't work. I hope the next record isn't like that.

Posted by: slowdown73 Jan 4 2012, 05:08 PM

Do you think "bridge of light" will feature on the next album? I love this song and was wondering whether to buy the german import cd or wait.

Posted by: Regina Jan 4 2012, 05:11 PM

Doubtful, its just for the movie. Just illegally download it biggrin.gif

wiki rumour - the new album will be called 'lover's end'

Posted by: Liаm Jan 8 2012, 05:15 PM

That's not a brilliant title sad.gif Still excited, I just hope it was some Wiki troll and not truth!

Sounds dirty, I love it.

Posted by: *Trouble* Jan 8 2012, 06:05 PM

I dont think its true, but i thought i'd post it anyway tongue.gif

for a start, i dont think it sounds very 'Pink'. and to me, 'lovers end' doesnt sound like what you would call your album when you've got back with your husband (since your last studio album), and just had a baby.

Posted by: Regina Jan 8 2012, 06:07 PM

You're right tongue.gif I predict a more happy tone to the album title.

I doubt this will be the title. She has only just started recording the album, so how can she come up with a name yet. Wiki is full of rumours!!

I saw that on fb, I hope your heart is okay after the shock.

Posted by: Doug Jan 20 2012, 03:10 PM

can't wait. wub.gif 'funhouse' is now my second favourite album of all time, I loved every single track on there to bits and find it hard to rank them. if her new material was more in vain of that then that'd be fantastic. biggrin.gif

Posted by: *Trouble* Feb 23 2012, 09:52 PM

Pink is apparently working with Dan Wilson, who co-wrote someone like you.... unsure.gif

Posted by: Liаm Feb 24 2012, 07:18 AM

I think I will die of excitment if she does a ballad like Someone Like You! Imo Pink is one of the best at ballads wub.gif

Posted by: Regina Feb 24 2012, 11:35 AM

Pink is more than capable of doing something much better than SYL

Posted by: *Trouble* Feb 24 2012, 11:49 AM

I dont want Pink to do Adele-styled music cry.gif

Posted by: Regina Feb 24 2012, 12:09 PM

Well Dan has also done stuff with other artists, so maybe he and Pink will do something different biggrin.gif

Posted by: Liаm Feb 24 2012, 12:18 PM

Someone Like You is better than Pink's entire discography except Who Knew smoke.gif

Posted by: Regina Feb 24 2012, 12:24 PM

No.

Posted by: Liаm Feb 24 2012, 12:26 PM

Looking at his writing credits, largely they are ballads, I'm glad we're gettng at least one lovely Pink ballad!

Posted by: Frank! Feb 24 2012, 12:58 PM

The fact that she is working with Dan Wilson doesn't mean that she's recording a ballad, does it?
And it's pointless to start debating which of the two singers is better, as they are completely different artists and very talented in their own right.

Posted by: *Trouble* Mar 2 2012, 11:11 AM

From Pink's twitter.....the lady herself has confirmed she is working on a new album w00t.gif

Back to Basics;)

Joe Dexter....you guys have probably never heard of him, but he is awesome, is working on new tracks for Pink w00t.gif

Didn't he work with Tim Armstrong (who previously worked with Pink on Try This)?

Posted by: toby Mar 21 2012, 06:18 PM

I think Pink should go all Gangsta Rap with this one she is such a badass anyway i don't think people would be to surprised w00t.gif

Posted by: Liаm Mar 21 2012, 07:57 PM

Crap

Pop/rock, like Pink but quite a lot 'angrier' sometimes. She does downbeat and mellow acoustic-y stuff too. She's no Pink, but I quite like her!

Posted by: *Trouble* Mar 21 2012, 08:05 PM

I quite like her too, if you like Pink you should check her out on youtube. She also has one of the best lyrics of all time... "are you thinking of me while you f*ck her?" tongue.gif

I would prefer summer, as it's closer tongue.gif

It will be around the same time as Funhouse though, to think it's been coming up for 4 years ohmy.gif SO EXCITED TO FINALLY HAVE A TIMEFRAME TO EXPECT ITTTTT w00t.gif

Posted by: *Trouble* May 2 2012, 05:20 PM

I can't believe its been 4 years ohmy.gif I think it will mean we'll have a new single July/August, and album late Sept/early Oct? Maybe...possibly.....kinda like Funhouse laugh.gif

Posted by: *Trouble* May 2 2012, 05:32 PM

I have to say, I'm quite glad there was a long break. I needed a Pink break. Yesterday when I watched the Funhouse DVD I cried a little bit, well, got a few tears in my eyes laugh.gif because I missed her.
Also, the tours can be so stressful, everytime I go to a Pink show I got a horrible feeling in my belly, stress of trying to be at the front, not get pushed about etc, so I think it would be a good idea if she did fan club packages, especially if she does stadiums again, there should have to be some sort of divide in the crowd when there are so many people in a close space. When I've seen Bon Jovi before they have three sections on the floor in stadiums and it works so much better. Ok rant over tongue.gif

Posted by: Regina May 2 2012, 05:46 PM

Alanis in summer and Pink in Autumn. All I need is a J-Lo album in Winter then I will have each of my fave singing MILF's releasing music in a different season.

P!NK SET TO RELEASE 6TH STUDIO ALBUM, THE TRUTH ABOUT LOVE, SEPTEMBER 18TH

FIRST SINGLE “BLOW ME (ONE LAST KISS)” IS AVAILABLE NOW AT ALL DIGITAL SERVICE PROVIDERS

(New York, New York) – Worldwide superstar P!nk announces her highly anticipated 6th studio album, The Truth About Love, to be released on September 18th. The album will be available as both a standard and deluxe version. The deluxe edition will be sold exclusively at Target, and will offer fans four additional studio tracks. P!nk has teamed up with producer Greg Kurstin (Lily Allen, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Foster The People & The Shins) for the very first time on this release along with long time collaborators Max Martin and Shellback, Billy Mann and Butch Walker. She has also worked with songwriter/producer Dan Wilson (Adele’s Someone Like You). The album is P!nk’s unique take on the different shades of love – the dark, the light, the happy and the sad. The first single, “Blow Me (One Last Kiss)” has exploded worldwide since it impacted radio last week and is available for sale at all digital service providers. The single was co-written by P!nk along with producer Greg Kurstin. Having taken time out of the limelight to start a family, the tracks infectious melody and kick-*** lyrics have let the world know that P!nk is back and at her absolute best! Anyone else filled with pride when reading the article above? It's astonishing what P!nk has achieved 12 years now, while never losing herself or her credibility as an artist. P!nk is the real superstar because she's the real deal and not Britney, Rihanna or Katy Perry.

I can't even begin to describe how I'm feeling right now. PINK IS BACK!
I have been a fan from day one, loved every second of her career, I remember when I saw Stupid Girls performed on totp when Pink was back with I'm Not Dead and I cried at that too laugh.gif I tweeted on Pink History a few weeks ago asking where will Pink be in 20 years time? I defo think she will still be around!
She is just....everything....my therapy!! Listening to her music, going to her shows, makes me forget about all the bad shit that is going on. I have to admit, by the end of the Carnival tour, I felt like we'd had 'too much' of her, we all needed the break, Pink included. Now shes back and I'm so f***ing happy (incase you couldnt tell haha)

I love all the new things, everytime I turn on my laptop...hell every time I go onto facebook/twitter on my phone...there is something new, an interview, new info on the album etc, new photos.

I am very proud to be a Pink Freak right now heart.gif

Ok I'ma shut up now laugh.gif

If the bonus tracks are exclusive to Target in the US, I'd expect that they'll just appear on the standard edition in the UK. The title's not awful, but it's not exactly eye-catching or original.

Updated the first post in this thread with more info...

Confirmed tracks:
"Blow Me (One Last Kiss)"
"How Come You're Not Here"
"Just Give Me A Reason"
"The Great Escape"
"The Truth About Love"
"Try"

Producers:
Greg Kurstin
Butch Walker
Billy Mann
Max Martin

She also confirmed there would be a few surprise collaborations

Posted by: troublepink Jul 19 2012, 01:47 PM

Willow plays bells on 'How Come You're Not Here,' and she plays bass on a song called 'Timebomb.'

"There was a basket of sh--, and she came over and pulled out the bells and started banging on them, and I was like, 'Record it!' And then she went up to the bass guitar on 'Timebomb' and started plucking away. She's actually pretty good! She's better on bass than I am! She plays piano, she bangs sh--, she's either going to be violent or a percussionist ... or a violent percussionist."

Timebomb? A cover of the SMASH Kylie hit? kink.gif

Posted by: troublepink Jul 20 2012, 08:02 AM

Pink has confirmed that one of the 'surprise collaborations' is with Lily Allen! Very interested to hear what that will sound like biggrin.gif

Posted by: Liаm Jul 20 2012, 03:50 PM

Pink has said there is 'no dance music' on the album, I just read an article on DS:

"Honestly, when there's something that's so popular like that, that does my head in, I know better what I don't want than what I do want," Pink told 97.1 AMP's Carson Daly.

"And when there's something like that happening, I'm like, 'Cool, not that!' I've done a whole career of, 'Okay, not that! I don't know what, but not that!'"

The star also revealed that she recorded over 40 songs for her new album The Truth About Love, but will only include 13 on the final tracklisting.

"I like to put 13 songs on my record. It's my lucky number. I had my first kiss on Friday the 13th in a graveyard," she said.

Posted by: Slick Jul 20 2012, 03:53 PM

I respect her for not jumping on the "let's whack in a bit of dubstep here" bandwagon.

Posted by: StephenT Jul 20 2012, 03:53 PM

Doesn't look like the UK standard version has those 2 (at least they're not listed at the moment) but they are on the deluxe.

She's doing an iTunes Festival on 13th September as well xD

I really can't wait to hear 'Chaos & Piss" based on the title alone!

Looking forward to this album, I know you can't go by titles but there are some really intriguing ones there.

laugh.gif yes, I just don't listen to much chart stuff, because I think most of the stuff in the charts atm is crap and not my thing. I have heard of Gotye, but I couldnt name a song of his...or hers...or theirs, I seriously have no idea, by the name I judge this Gotye to be some sort of rapper? laugh.gif

I mostly listen to Pink, Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Butch Walker, Bowling for Soup... I usually listen to older music, mostly rock. I prefer music that was out before I was born than most of the stuff out in the charts today cool.gif So yes, I do listen to more than Pink heehee.gif I actually had a 'Pink break' on my itunes last year where I didnt listen to her much because there had been so much P!nk going on with the Funhouse era and Greatest Hits, I needed a break, I'm like that with Butch Walker atm because I've done nothing but listen to The Spade since it came out, but then when I go back and listen after the break, like I have with Pink since she came back, it sounds so much better heart.gif

Next single is Try, confirmed by Andrew Macpherson who designs all her artwork, he's put this up this up on his website:

Love it, more than makes up for the album artwork which is a bit disappointing imo,

Posted by: troublepink Aug 2 2012, 03:51 PM

I LIKE IT *edit* Ignore the bit I originally posted in here, I was looking at another photo laugh.gif rolleyes.gif *

Still, supa dupa hott heart.gif And its better than the Blow Me cover, which I also liked, but thought it could've been better (had more Pink in it tongue.gif ). I love the album cover too cheer.gif

Posted by: Regina Aug 2 2012, 03:54 PM

How...unf <3

Posted by: Jark Aug 2 2012, 06:31 PM

Why couldn't that have been the album art?

Posted by: troublepink Aug 2 2012, 06:34 PM

Pink wrote "Beam Me Up" with Butch Walker and describes it as "my acoustic song that I do on every record,"

Posted by: Propilot87 Aug 2 2012, 06:41 PM

The 'Try' single cover reminds me of the 'Try This' era artwork.

Posted by: Jark Aug 2 2012, 08:20 PM

It has serious shades of Kylie's X too.

Posted by: Regina Aug 2 2012, 08:22 PM

I was thinking the same thing, it reminds me alot of the X cover.

Their song Some Nights is very Queen as well, I love that one:

He's getting around a bit though, he's on Carly Rae Jepsen's new album which comes out the same week as Pink's I think laugh.gif

Posted by: Regina Aug 8 2012, 02:55 PM

Posted by: troublepink Aug 8 2012, 02:59 PM

As far as I know, I thought there were more, but I guess thats enough for 'Pinks' album laugh.gif otherwise it may as well be a 'featured' album laugh.gif

None of my requests were taken though sad.gif no Bon Jovi, no Aerosmith/Steven Tyler, no Tommy Lee cry.gif at least I hope Butch Walker's gorgeous voice may be in there somewhere as he's worked on the album tongue.gif

Kylie might be a shock collab on Timebomb though smoke.gif

According to this album, the Eminem feature will be an "alternative club banger".

QUOTE
The rap and pop worlds are about to collide once again. Eminem and Pink are teaming up for their second collaboration.

Slim Shady is featured on “Here Comes the Weekend,” an “alternative club banger” off Pink’s upcoming album The Truth About Love, due September 18.

The two previously collaborated on “Won’t Back Down” off Em’s 2010 album Recovery.

“He said, ‘Do you want to do a song with me?’ ‘F**k yeah!’ I said, ‘Do you want to do a song with me?’ and he said, ‘F**k yeah!” Handshake. Nothing signed. Done,” Pink told Australia’s Herald Sun of how their latest record came about.

They are already cooking up a third collaboration that will showcase their similar personalities. “I think we have another song in our future that will be funny and shit talking,” she said.

Pink previously expressed her admiration for her fellow rebel. “I think he’s one of the most poetic, ballsy, and hilarious people this industry has ever seen,” she told SPIN. Eminem returned the compliment, telling BBC Radio 1, “I’ve always respected what she does.” [Rap Up]
It was posted on Alex Da Kid's facebook page, so I'm going to presume he's either just REALLY excited for them both to be duetting again OR he is the one who's produced it...

(Alex Da Kid is the guy behind the monster hits 'Love The Way You Lie' (Eminem & Rihanna), 'Airplanes' (B.o.B & Hayley Williams), 'Coming Home' (Diddy-Dirty Money & Skylar Grey))

Random tidbit from HDD:

QUOTE
DOUBLE-DIP SUPER TUESDAY UPDATE: Here are the latest label forecasts on some of the Sept. 18 and Sept. 25 releases (see 8/23 item below): G.O.O.D. Music compilation 200k, Pink 200k, The Killers 125k, Carly Rae Jepsen 100k, No Doubt 175k and Michael Jackson 150k. In other news, Diana Krall and the Barbra Streisand CD move to Oct. 2 (Columbia is releasing the LP on Sept. 25 to make it eligible for Grammy consideration), while Ne-Yo moves to Nov. 6. Expect some of the forecasts to change as we get closer to release. You can also expect some label estimates to be over-projected and/or very bullish, which could lead to some major disappointments for certain key artists and top label execs, but par for the course heading into Q4. (8/24a)

Posted by: Liаm Aug 24 2012, 06:24 PM

Jesus what a week to release ohmy.gif So much competition, I hope Pink can beat G.O.O.D. Music... Truth be told No Doubt are my faves of them but Pink has the best chance I think!

(for those who don't know it's a new Kanye project so poses a big threat!)

I'm unbelievably excited for this album. I'm not even gonna have it when it comes out because I went and asked for it as a birthday present so I'll need to wait 11 days. It'll kill me. Also asked for the new Killers album. Should be a good birthday.

From HDD:

SEPTEMBER SONGS, 9/18: We’ve been focusing on next month’s double-dip Super Tuesday in this space, and we’re not about to stop now—not with the promise of an escape from the seemingly endless summer doldrums. Here and immediately below are the latest first-week sales estimates for the latest releases from acts who have meant something commercially in the past. And if some of these numbers strike you as optimistic, bear in mind that this is an inexact science.

Nelly Furtado (Geffen) 25k
G.O.O.D. Music Compilation (Def Jam/IDJ) 200k
Carly Rae Jepsen (Schoolboy/Interscope) 100k
Michael Jackson, Bad – 25th Anniversary Edition (Legacy) 150k
The Killers (Island/ID J) 125k
P!nk (RCA) 200k
Wiz Khalifa (Atlantic) 250k

Posted by: Propilot87 Aug 28 2012, 06:18 PM

It'd be nice for P!nk to actually get a number 1 album in the US but I feel like that good music album will get it sad.gif i'm surprised they think Carly will only do 100k that seems a little low given how big Call Me Maybe was.

Amaze. I love how she can manage to do party anthems but not be horrifically generic, even with the disappointment of Blow Me this album is sounding VERY strong, Try is amazing especially.

I'm listening to the album now. I've not got any of her other albums so I can't compare to them but I'm enjoying it a lot so far. On How Come You're Not Here? right now. Favourites so far are the two singles and the Lily Allen Rose Cooper (kink.gif) duet.

Posted by: Marina Hurts Sep 13 2012, 10:43 PM

'True Love' is a guaranteed hit in the UK and AUS but in order to succeed in the US it needs to be released sooner, rather than be like the 5th or 6th single. But I'm afraid they'll pick 'Just Give Me a Reason' next (which is also fantastic and fun. are obviously more popular in the US) and they'll probably not want to release a 2nd collaboration in a row, so True Love will end up 5th.

Posted by: Cal Sep 14 2012, 06:35 AM

Downloaded this this morning. It's quite different in that there's more Missundaztood and Try This influences. I can see why people wouldn't like it, but I'm happy so far! biggrin.gif

EDIT: Where Did the Beat Go? is amaaaaazing! <3

2. 'Are We All We Are'
3. 'Where Did The Beat Go?'
4. 'Try'
5. 'Walk of Shame'

Posted by: Regina Sep 16 2012, 11:49 AM

So where do we think this will debut? I think she is a dead cert for top 5. Don't know if Carly Rae Jepson will be much of an album seller, but I thought that about
Rita Ora. The Killers are usually big album sellers, so I think maybe....#4

Posted by: _Chris Sep 16 2012, 03:22 PM

I'm OBSESSED with Is This Thing On?

Top 5
01 Is This Thing On?
02 Try
03 Blow Me (One Last Kiss)
04 Here Comes The Weekend
05 Where Did The Beat Go? / Run

Posted by: Liаm Sep 16 2012, 03:58 PM

This should easily be #2 I'd imagine, behind The Killers (although I'd hope she can beat them!). Carly Rae won't sell too much but should get about #5 due to sales not being that high. Battle Born and The Truth About Love should be a kick up the ass for album sales thoguh!

Loving both Nate & Lily duets. Although I'm slightly preferring Just give me a reason but True love isn't far off.

REALLY getting into this now. For me it's the album Try This should've been. There are a couple of duds but that happens with almost every Pink album for me. Where Did The Beat Go is definitely my favourite. <3

Thank you! Why does everyone think Try This is a disappointment? It's her only album with no fillers, imo!

Posted by: Jonjo Sep 18 2012, 02:22 AM

This album's growing on me. Still not "great by P!nk's standards" but it's still good enough (I'd buy it if it was in the 2 for £10 or £15 offers or something)

4 CLEAR standouts for me though.

01. 'The Great Escape'
02. 'Is This Thing On?'
03. 'Just Give Me A Reason'
04. 'Run'

But the rest is good. It's growing, anyway! biggrin.gif

Oh PLEASE. After M!ssundaztood it sounded dire. Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of great tracks, but it's by far her worst for me. I never actually liked Trouble as a single, either! Last To Know, Oh My God, and Catch Me While I'm Sleeping are the only ones I listen to regularly. Everything else on that album is good but forgetful! sad.gif

I bought the album this afternoon. I've given it a spin and not a lot stands out on first listen, but I have no doubt I'll grow. I do have to say that 'Try' is a little bit special though! It's by far my favourite thing so far and I love Blow Me (One Last Kiss) - I'd go as far as saying it is one of my favourite songs of the year and it's a really good cover! I also like Are We All We Are and the collaboration with Nate Ruess too on first listen!

the ballads. $l*t Like You being my fave.

I think this is my least favourite P!nk album after her debut sad.gif I just think the formula is a bit tired now, and all of the songs kind of merge in to one (bar. try, blow me and just give me a reason), there isn't anything insanely awful on there, but i don't think there are any career defining, truly out of this world songs either.

Thanks I had a brilliant birthday-I got a Pink album so how could it not have been great? laugh.gif

I've been so busy that I'm only halfway through my second listen and the album is definitely growing on me. It certainly doesn't seem Pink by numbers let people over in the chart forum have written her off as. It seems like she's spliced her last 4 albums together-this one certainly has more of a Try This feel than the last 2 which of course is not a bad thing at all.

Standout tracks for me so far-Blow Me, Try, Just Give Me A Reason, True Love, The Truth About Love and Here Comes The Weekend. I'm really LOVING the collaborations so far.

Pink can do no wrong really. Even Can't Take Me Home is a great album considering the style of music.

Yes that's exactly what I was thinking-RetroPink!

I loved I'm Not Dead and Funhouse but I'm glad she's gone a bit of a different way this time. I remember listening to Funhouse for the first time and thinking 'this is awfully similar to I'm Not Dead, how much longer can she pull this off?'

Very different to what's currently in the charts which is a great thing.

Perhaps she got fed up of trying too hard. After all, all Rihanna sings about is sex and she only has to cough to get top 5.

Posted by: Regina Oct 8 2012, 06:40 PM

Well I'd much rather she "tried too hard" and made songs that do not revolve solely around sex and actually got better with every listen.
I like the album, but its a rather big fall in quality from her previous two albums.

Thankfully it's only a misunderstanding that '$l*t Like You' was the next single! 'Just Give Me A Reason' will be HUGE if it's released. It'd do similar to 'Broken Strings' I reckon.

Just Give Me A Reason is my favourite, but to be honest I'm quite disappointed with the album as a whole. At first I really liked it but once the novelty wore off I realised there's only 3 I really like, and about 5 I really don't like that much. It's not bad, but I thought it would be much better.

It's a battle between fun. and Florence. fun. are nominated in 4 of the big categories so I can't see them not winning. To me this seems the easiest category for them to win. (I just think insiders/the panel are likely to go for them than someone like Kelly or P!nk.)

Posted by: pippa Dec 7 2012, 09:51 AM

Pink i still believe will win this.

Posted by: Regina Dec 16 2012, 07:53 PM

Back in the top 10 this week biggrin.gif Try down to 14.

Posted by: liamk97 Dec 17 2012, 04:53 PM

I listened to her Live Lounge session a couple of days ago - her version of Alicia Key's Girl On Fire is just *.* Suits her voice so much! Try was gorgeous too! wub.gif

Posted by: troublepink Dec 17 2012, 09:56 PM

I posted these videos in the promo thread, amazing performances, Pink was on fire heehee.gif

Posted by: heysexy Dec 23 2012, 11:24 PM

P!nk has been in the top 10 album chats for a few week and has made it to the xmas top 10 albums.

the truth about love total sales- 414,250

Great news. Thought she would be in decline. Try really has helped. What was the gh figure this time of yr? Or funhouse figure?

Posted by: Regina Dec 24 2012, 03:56 PM

Well I never thought she'd shift around 70K this week laugh.gif i am most satisfied.

I know. Its quite shocking.

Posted by: Aphrodite Dec 27 2012, 02:52 AM

Her sales were impressive for christmas and has helped to boost her overall sales nicely, i honestly cant see this album doing anything less than double platinum now.

Posted by: Marina Hurts Dec 27 2012, 04:03 PM

With JGMAR certain to smash (too confident?), if the album can manage 500k sales by the time it's released, it can easily get to 700k.

I think 'Here Comes the Weekend' should be the fourth single. Now that she put out a ballad to shift album sales it's time for a real fun song + it features Eminem and he will surely pull in some sales too. (maybe I'm biased 'cause it's by far my favorite from the album).

Posted by: JosephSimpson Jan 26 2013, 09:12 PM

I'd quite like a song like Walk of Shame to be the fourth single. $l*t Like You would also be great but it'd be BUTCHERED for the radio.

a few seconds near the end is hardly a feature laugh.gif

True Love or Walk of Shame for singles THANKS FOR UNANIMOUSLY AGREEING.

Posted by: Regina Feb 7 2013, 05:10 PM

How Come You're Not Here or Slut Like You tbh. She needs something more upbeat and not a collab.

Posted by: troublepink Feb 7 2013, 06:07 PM

How come you're not here next please!!!

It is my fave song from the album from the first listen, and when discussing the album with my mum (who got it for Christmas biggrin.gif ) she told me its her favourite song too heehee.gif

Posted by: Silver Rocket Feb 12 2013, 11:43 PM

If she releases 'How Come You're Not Here' next, then she will have got the singles 100% from this album (which given it's not exactly her best work, is quite a feat).

YES. just this 100%. that'll be my favourite 4 songs on the album released if she does that. wub.gif
also, I think we should have one of those 'ultimate rate' things for pink. she's got as much as a back catalogue as rihanna and britney so why not? biggrin.gif

Funny you should say that, I was going to do one tomorrow when I get home from my holiday tongue.gif

I've just read that this hasn't even topped half a million...that's QUITE a drop. I give her one more album, seems a bit like she's over to me.

She's still selling. She can easily shift another 100-200k copies.

Name ONE more artist who has managed to sell half a million copies with their SIXTH album in THIS day & age. She's more relevant than ever.

(Edit: Probably Rihanna, but still...)

Sorry but this post is ridiculous. Two top ten singles with a third one looking EXTREMELY likely, and according to Vidcapper, the album is on 499,100, which is fantastic considering the poor album climate. It will have easily passed half a million already this week. Besides, she's not exactly CHRISTINA AGUILERA right now.

Posted by: Good Grief Feb 28 2013, 03:07 PM

I'm sorry, but you are deluded if you think that P!nk is going to have one more album after this one. She's having one of her strongest eras as a recording artist at the moment.

That is kinda funny to read.

Shes doing a SOLD OUT WORLDWIDE TOUR, and you think shes 'over'?

However, I do think that after this SOLD OUT WORLDWIDE tour she will take a long break, she has planned this tour to end when Willow is at pre-school age, I can't see her a) taking Willow out of school to go on tour with her, or b) going on tour without Willow.

In a way I think I would actually like it if she were to get less popular, go back to smaller venue gigs, tickets easier to get hold of & less expensive, papz giving her & her family a break... Maybe go back to the Try This era fame, but I just dont see that happening laugh.gif

Anyway, thanks for making me laugh, its been a long day and I've just nearly fell off a ladder laugh.gif

Ooh, I'll have to make some more tonight or whenever and post them in there. Think there was a Funhouse design pack somewhere that I could download too.

I LOVE seeing fanart!!

Yes like Regina says, if anyone has any Pink fan art please post it in the thread he's just bummed...i mean bumped heehee.gif

Oh and if anyone would like to make me any Pink History artwork, banners, photo blends etc... feel free... ANY Pink photo, any text (quote/song lyric etc) just make sure it has 'P!nk History' on it somewhere, and you will be my new best friend biggrin.gif

Pink has done too much in her career now for it ever to be over before she says it is. She's still doing well and like Madonna or Mariah, will still be able to record even if her next album bombs badly. Besides if you need to sell more than 500k albums to stay relevant these days than half the chart need to be dropped from their record labels.

What is going on with the single releases?

Walk of Shame and $l*t Like You would have been surefire hits!

Maybe she is trying to show a different side of herself.

Correction: WILL be. I wouldn't worry as she always releases a 5th single since I'm Not Dead and "Walk of Shame" is very likely to get a release.

Yeah, I'm just worried that they won't sell well as a lot of fans will have the album by then. Having said that, Just Give Me a Reason is doing really well smile.gif

907,500 UK sales now.

56th biggest album so far of the decade (2010-19).

Still my favourite album of hers.

I was about to say she must have higher albums than that in the last decade... then I realised she's only released TWO albums in the last decade. wtf blink.gif

Funhouse to me still seems like a recent album yet it was released over ten years ago. Next year we'll be celebrating ten years since the release of her greatest hits... and 20(!!!!) years since her debut album. It seems like only 5 minutes ago that I was celebrating 'ten years of try this' on PH back in 2013. Time flies smile.gif

Posted by: Jordan Lee Jan 9 2019, 01:20 PM

The Greatest Hits is on higher sales that’s still to come on the list it’s often in the top 100.

I agree though it’s flown! I was like 13 when Funhouse was released and I went to the tour of that now. It’s now ten year this year since I last seen her. That’s god I have tickets to her summer tour this year!

Posted by: T Boy Jan 9 2019, 06:24 PM

I’ve just got this on vinyl and I’m loving it all over again. It’s not even in my top 3 Pink albums but I absolutely love it!

I always forget how good Just Give Me A Reason is.

Posted by: Jordan Lee Apr 24 2019, 05:04 PM

I listened to this in full again today and it’s still my favourite album of hers.

I just love it and it’s full of great singles, some of her best ballads and some of her best care free fun tracks too. A real mix.

Can’t believe it’s 7 this year. I still remember the exact day it came out laugh.gif

Posted by: troublepink Sep 17 2020, 07:34 AM

8 years ago today The Truth About Love album was released cheer.gif

It still feels very 'new' to me, even though it came out in 2012 laugh.gif

Posted by: T Boy Sep 17 2020, 06:04 PM

I remember having to wait 11 agonising days for it because I’d asked for it for my birthday laugh.gif

Pink was massive with this era. I loved all of the singles but I do think it’s one of her weaker albums-but that says a lot about how great her other albums are!

Posted by: jlj Sep 17 2020, 06:24 PM

Wow 8 years heart.gif

I think this is still my favourite from her as well.
