LADIES AND GENTLEMAN... WELCOME to the Grand Final of BJSC 47, live from Exhibitién
in glorious Flynt, the home to Aeroche's edition of the long-running musical joust.
We've seen 54 nations fight it out for 30 places in the 'Grand Final' in the cut-throat semi-final stages, and with 52
of our 54 nations voting for the lucky 30 tracks, we willpresent to you the official results. We wish everyone good
luck, and we also hope for the best for our very own entry from Trust.
In 20 minutes time, we will reveal our first sets of votes, and will reveal them so two at a time with the official scoreboard
showing the results after these two votes. We will then, after all 52 nations, crown our winner.

Excite! Very much expecting midtable for f(x), we had no bottom 7 predictions AFAIK but also no top 10 predictions 
I do hope we can outperform that but even something like 18th would be brilliant given all those DNQs and a 2nd to last place I've had in the last few months!

I'd hopefully get something midtable with 2NE1. No doubt Top 10 is out of reach for me but hopefully not in the bottom 10 either.

I've given up on winning this month, so I'm rather relaxed right now and just looking forward to seeing what happens. But saying that, Leww will probably fix it so I'm a contender at some point and then I'll be on the verge of a heart attack for the whole thing

Really disappointed with the winner again. I agree with the above that since the Ronya victory, all of the winners have been so unappealing to me. It's such a shame that we aren't getting winners like Ronya, Jessica, Ricki-Lee or Rachel anymore.

Everything's going in circles, in the future contests you'll see some big backlash of this type of stuff, and the pop will be ruling again!
I love the last three winners, so I REALLY don't mind this state of BJSC but the pop part will see the ray of light at the top very soon surely.

I either dislike or don't care for nearly two thirds of that top 15 and I didn't think this was even a predominantly bad contest. Disappointing results but 'Sulk', as I said, is a worthy winner.

Can people stop complaining that they haven't liked the last two or three winners? Consider yourselves LUCKY! I watched my least favorite songs win this contest for YEARS. I'm sure you can all cope with not liking a couple! The last few winners have been unexpected, yes, but people need to stop depending on the blogs and start thinking outside the box. Let the likes of Lew/Jake/anybody else left-of-field enjoy their successes without bringing the mood down. The poptarts have ruled this contest with an iron fist for years so it's only normal that the contest shifts direction.

Both of those were already known to many here before Scandipop ever mentioned them though. I've been listening to Charlotte for years, and The Storm have been entered numerous times. In reference to my previous post, I'm not saying "don't ever look at a blog again", but more "make the effort to look elsewhere". I think it's common knowledge that I'm not really that clued up on what's hot on the pop scene, but even *I* knew most of the entries on this contest's confirmation list because I occasionally read a few blogs to see what the fuss is about.

Gotta admit, I was hoping for something better than 26th for Van She, but it seemed uncertain if it'd even make the final at one point, so it could have been worse. An excellent top 10 on the whole though, which seems fitting for the overall great standard of songs. I'm only really a little surprised by how well Diandra and Cady Groves did, for me they were the 2 weakest songs left.
Congrats to Lew on not only another win, but a great job of hosting too. Loved the graphics in particular.

I'm not that bothered with how badly Million Dollar Signs did, I've sort of got used to not doing very well this year, the contest has changed shape completely in the last few months. Not saying it's a bad thing as I love most of the songs doing well (Aeroche got 10 points from me, Isconia got 6), just a sign of the times. I've had my glory years and its nice to see other people doing well consistently now.
As an aside, my unlikely 12 pointer to Zechonia was reciprocated
Talk about the most unlikely 12 swap I've ever done!

I've just read... most of the thread (I was on my phone last night and I was not reading an entire thread on that piece of junk) and it was a great final, really. VAGUELY disappointed with 6th but it's not much worse than what I'd expected so it's fine. Thanks for everyone who voted Umiiruka! The whole "this contest is too indie now" backlash is a bit unfortunate. I'd like a pop winner too, but at the end of the day BJSC isn't about the winner, it's about discovering songs. And there are still a lot of excellent pop songs in the mix. A BJSC without the indie countries would be really a much worse contest if you ask me, I like the diversity of the contest right now.

I'm not complaining anyway, I'm just saying that while I do like most of the current winners (aside from the Russian pair which were rather horrid), I would enjoy a good pop song taking it again at some point. But yes I'm not begrudging the indie winners, lord knows it's better than something like Diandra romping home.

One could argue that the contest always had indie people but just not enough to overpower the pop fans. The "hipsters" joining may have been the tipping point in which the indie countries finally became the majority and I would definitely say the new indie countries have changed things. But yes obviously you can't win with a minority, Moan and (especially) Sulk were clearly well liked across the board, even if the more strictly pop countries disliked them.
If it's not sung by a slutty woman then it's not pop.

Excellent result! Always a joy when my 12 pointer goes on to win (and I think this is the first time I've ever correctly predicted the winner too!) Plus it means we get another pretty contest so it's all good really.
Many thanks to those who voted Halls, really happy that it managed to gain a couple of 12s and some points from countries that are not regular Fljótavík voters also which was lovely to see.
Apologies to FSR Rontvia and Zechonia that I couldn't reciprocate the votes, it was close though as you were both the last songs to be knocked out. I think FSR Rontvia in particular were unlucky with the make up of the final as it's the sort of song that I could imagine virtually everyone liking to some extent and, were it not for the roughly 50:50 pop/indie split in the final, would have picked up a fair few more points.

Good to see Tom do better with Asaf Avidan than I did. I've heard the song on the radio ALOT the past week so maybe it'll cross over to the UK as well.

Wasn't sure where to write this, but Ria Ritchie's 'Only One' (Botanikka a few contests ago I think?) is being used on an advert on BBC1 for upcoming CBBC drama shows I think!
Also, I heard 'You're The One' in Topman the other day! Hopefully this song will blow up soon, I think R1 may playlist it at some point?

I r (with 97% probability) going with a song/artist that is a mix of D E N A, Lady GaGa and Russia (yeah, literally, it's incredible). And going Russian (as in the russian language) as well for the third time since Polina Gagarina in BJSC4 (finished 20th [last]) and Serebro in BJSC32 (finished 3rd)!

I only have two choices. One is a song which I'm 90% sure is too urban-leaning for BJSC and more about the VIBE than a particular hook. The other is one I've been told is brilliant but it's a demo and I can't get over the slightly unfinished sound of it. Hm.

I *think* I have an idea of what to send. I've narrowed it down to 3 poh-ten-shuls, which one I send will probably depend what kind of mood I'm in on confirmation day.
