For clarification on the airplay charts, pop radio isn't the only one that matters. Loads of US hits are huge airplay hits from impacting Rhythmic, HAC or Urban and they all combine to the overall audience impact/airplay. Obviously Little Mix are only going to do anything on pop radio so that's where to focus but any act needs to see where they are overall too. For example Lorde is #22 on pop right now, but is only the 69th most heard song on radio. So Touch being #532 altogether means virtually nobody is hearing it.

They gotta do something to get radio stations to play them. What can they do?

SOTME is still much higher on US iTunes, starting to think it was not a good idea to pull the plug on it.
Posted by: Tinasha 21st March 2017, 10:53 AM
Coming to the end of Q1 now and Touch is the 4th highest British single, should make it for a Brit nomination this year if it holds up.
Posted by: shindymindy 21st March 2017, 11:36 AM
If 2 of the songs above them are Ed, then he'll only get 1 nom right?
They should 'hopefully' have the video award on lock for next year.

Yeah I put the two Ed songs together.

I reckon they will! It just so happens the four biggest releases of 2016 have been Ed 2x, Rag n Bone Man & Jax Jones. There's nothing in sight that I see dislodging it for months, perhaps maybe Clean Bandit, but I'm pretty sure we'll go into the second half of the year with 'Touch' still at about #5 in the list that will cancel out Galway Girl once that overtakes too.

I NEED CARPOOL KARAOKE!!!
They just need to push things at the same time as the rest of the world. Times have changed, the delayed release worked for Leona 10 years ago, but this is a different time. They have a really dedicated fanbase out there. They just need to appeal to the casual audiences more. </3 So gutting for them because I truly believe they're the hardest workers in pop/the industry in general. Yet there are so many artists who just release something with little to no promo and get massive success with it. It's infuriating!

You mentioned LM's dedicated fan base and one of the main issues I've had with Columbia is that they never take advantage of that. Every era, they treat Little Mix like a debut artist when they aren't. Sure they don't set the American charts on fire but they have a strong enough fanbase to hype up a release. Shout Out to my Ex climbed all the way to #11 when it debuted and Touch climbed into the Top 200 on US iTunes when they released the video. They never build on the hype that the fan base creates. Instead they let it die and then push it months later. Had they come to America for some promo and a radio deal immediately when Shout Out was released it probably could've been a decent sized hit and US success would've helped the song out in most European countries as well, which they could've visited later. But at this point I've pretty much given up all hope of them "cracking America" I just hope they can one day manage a small theater tour so I can see a real concert of theirs at least once.

You've got it spot on. It is just made even worse because they're 4 of the most talented and down to Earth women in the business.
Posted by: BigMixer 28th March 2017, 10:39 AM
They are flopping cause their team isn't using payola on the radio.
Check out what Aubrey O'Day said about radio payola :
This is exactly what they didn't get going, and why Colombia are cheap as f***. It's crazy, they just needed to pay for power rotation on a couple of big stations for a few weeks and Touch would have taken off. (i think both videos are the same for me?)
Posted by: Karl. 28th March 2017, 03:53 PM
If they keep the same damn team for LM5, I'm literally gonna lose it.
Just imagine if they spent the last 3 months promoting in Europe, Asia, Oceania and maybe SA though.. oh well.

It's a shame it hasn't worked out for them in America, but it's not the end of the world. As I've said previously, there's nothing wrong with being a local act with some moderate success in other territories. It never hurt other massive UK groups like Girls Aloud, Sugababes, Take That etc etc...

I'm from the Usa and I'm a mixer for life!! If radio is not fair to them it's the Usa's people's loss. They don't realize what they are missing. They are very successful in the UK, Ireland, Australia and some Asian countries so at least their being appreciated by them.

I wouldn't say they were hugely successful worldwide tbh. Their success is fairly moderate in general, apart from Australia and New Zealand to a certain extent. They should do more promo in Australasia in all honesty.

They're a bit big in Asia thanks to Secret Love Song. I said this before but they could easily get a #1 single in Japan if they stay for a week-ish there. I'm surprised they didn't visit Japan tbh? Like I thought it's a tradition.

That performamce was absolutely fantastic! They change it up every time and made use of such a small stage! So proud of them!
Also, did Corden say "tickets for their tour are on sale" at the end?

They visit Japan every era and still had to perform at 1k capacity places for the Get Weird Tour.. it's a big market but it seems like it's not for them either.

All the dates were sold out though. I think they were just testing it out since it's really their first time touring out of the UK? Japan loves them, they appear on the charts a lot.
Also, I think Corden was referring to the Dangerous Woman Tour tickets.

I'm just glad that this is going to give Touch more streams on Spotify anyway. I want it to reach 100M plays! I didn't realise it was still as high as #25. Fantastic longevity. Here's hoping it manages to claw a few more weeks too 40, since its chart run was cut short by Drake/Ed Sheeran. I imagine it would've become their longest runner otherwise.

If it did well enough on Spotify to start charting on Billboard 100, then radio might get on board. It would need to get to like top 30 on US Spotify though.

I definitely think it is as it still climbed on the global chart. I want Touch to be on Today's Top Hits for at least 3 weeks, it deseves it more than SOTME, a much more "skippable" song. People usually want drinking and partying songs there.

Yeah, I'd agree with this. It's been ridiculously resilient on streaming (for a LM single anyway) + is still top 30 on iTunes combined. It would've had a mammoth chart run if it wasn't for Sheeran (and Drake).
Plus, it still sounds as fresh as it did upon album release. What a song.

Oh yes, Heart play is loads, it's one of their most played songs every week. It's crazy, as I didn't think it would up their street. SOTME and NMSS sound a lot more "Heart" to me.

It's a shame this was removed from Germany's biggest Spotify playlist. It's been on it since January. Here are the weekly streams :
Also a shame SYCO didn't recognize the potential, they could've booked them a performance on some high profile German show.
Yeah it was removed on every big playlists which is unfortunate.. but oh well. RIP.

Fantastic achievement. Despite all its faults, it's certainly an enjoyable MV (probably the one I return to most actually).
Also, what on earth is with the incessant 'promote them' nonsense in the comments section? I detest their Twitter fanbase.

Only two more until they equal Girls Aloud's record five wins! It's by far the best song on the shortlist, I'm pleased for them!

Does anyone have any idea why the ‘behind the scenes’ video of Touch is getting 300,000 daily views all of a sudden? Lol

The video was pretty much release this time 4 years ago and.... Jade still makes me question my sexuality in it.
