Manhunt concluded with 6.2m and had a big effect on Silent Witness which returned with just 4m. sad.gif

I had a feeling Manhunt but we ahead but no where near that much!

I reckon Cleaning Up will pull in big figures tonight as well so it may not climb very much, if at all.

Some consolidated ratings for NYD coming in!

Luther topped the night once again with a massive 8.8m excluding devices, so it should be over 9m on four screen data. Doctor Who finished with 6.9m, so will be over 7m with four screen data. Corrie was slightly ahead with 7m and was second highest show of the night.

Agreed, been heavily trailed and they refer to it as the "Sheridan Smith-starring Cleaning Up" as they know she always attracts a big audience.

Luckily for Silent Witness, it always has strong catch-up viewers, even when it faces clashes or has out of slot episodes, so it should at least clear 6m.

Bradley & Son was actually a tad above 5m...6m is the consolidated figure for last week's episode. Either way, really strong night for ITV last night!

Cleaning Up did very well, as I expected. The combination of Sheridan Smith / heavy trailing / coming off the back of Manhunt no doubt enticed a lot of viewers.

Bang on where I expected for Death In Paradise. It's been nice having a show pretty much at 6m other than the soaps each night!

Last night:

Michael McIntyre - 5.76m (29.6%)
The Greatest Dancer - 4.12m (21.4%)
Casualty - 4.21m (22.5%)

The Greatest Dancer held up okay but it could still collapse once the cushy Michael McIntyre lead in disappears! On ITV, The Voice dropped below 5m but cannot share the figure as it's not public yet!

19:00 Antiques Roadshow - 5.84m (27.2%)
20:00 Call the Midwife - 6.92m (29.2%)
21:00 Les Miserables - 4m (19.1%)

ITV
18:00 Dancing On Ice - 5.6m (26.4%)
20:00 Vera - 5.6m (25.1%)

Call the Midwife Series Openers:
Series 1 (2012): 7.95m (27.5%)
Series 2 (2013): 9.32m (32.3%)
Series 3 (2014): 9.61m (36.1%)
Series 4 (2015): 8.31m (32.8%)
Series 5 (2016): 7.98m (32.0%)
Series 6 (2017): 7.72m (31.9%)
Series 7 (2018): 7.07m (28.9%)
Series 8 (2019): 6.92m (29.2%)

Vera Series Openers:
Series 1 (2011): 5.47m (22.9%)
Series 2 (2012): 4.83m (18.5%)
Series 3 (2013): 4.99m (23.5%)
Series 4 (2014): 6.23m (25.5%)
Series 5 (2015): 4.73m (21.3%)
Series 6 (2016): 5.45m (22.2%)
Series 7 (2017): 6.48m (29.8%)
Series 8 (2018): 7.10m (30.9%)
Series 9 (2019): 5.60m (25.1%)

A great return for Call the Midwife, just a 2.1% drop from last year. Quite the drop for Vera after achieving its highest series opening rating last year. It opened against McMafia last year (which rated 4.07m) and also had a boost from the return of Dancing On Ice which rated 7.5m, so I guess the stronger competition and lower lead-in this year justifies the drop. 5.6m itself is a good rating though, especially against a nearly 7m rating.

A lesser second week drop for Dancing On Ice, down 900k (13.8% decrease) compared to last year's 1.5m drop (19.7%), but I guess the series opener last year had a lot more 'curiosity' views.

Better for Silent Witness thanks to poor competition. Eastenders finding it hard to stay above 5m now but I'm not at all surprised; all momentum from Christmas and New Year has been lost and we've still got next week to endure before we finally see Mel and Hunter (and Sharon) back.

Steady drop for Death in Paradise, similar to last year. The share remains above that of last year.

That's pretty decent for Eastenders, I was expecting sub 5m again as there's not really much to keep viewers interested at the moment. Their highest share of the year too!

20:00 The Greatest Dancer - 3.88m (20.4%)
21:10 Casualty - 3.94m (21.4%)

Nothing for The Voice UK yet. The Greatest Dancer dips under 4m but with half the decline of last week's decrease. Needs to stabilize now though - apparently it has a head-start on The Voice UK next week so will be interesting to see if that helps.

The Greatest Dancer Ratings
4.66m (23.2%)
4.12m (21.4%) down 11.59%
3.88m (20.4%) down 5.83%
