Yay for Disclosure, Pia and Shawn cheer.gif

Posted by: Mangų 25th November 2015, 05:26 PM

Disappointing not to see Grace playlisted this week, but I think they'll add it eventually. Wonder what's happening with 'Army', it must have a later impact date. Not surprised Carly and MŲ aren't on there but I knew they'd finally add 'Stitches'!

Don't see the point of NBT re-releasing 'Itch' when 'Graveyard Whistling' is crying out to be a single unsure.gif

What's that new Foo Fighters song? Have they got a new album coming out already?

Posted by: Envoirment 25th November 2015, 05:28 PM

Great to see Pia Mia playlisted! Looks like she's coming for another decent-sized hit with "Touch". biggrin.gif

Also pleased to see 99 Souls & Fleur moving up to B-list and A-list respectively.

is Itch being re-released really necessary? didn't it get A-listed originally? (it sure felt like it anyway)

good to see Sigala up to A-list and 99 Souls up to B-list

Most probably my least favourite song of the year! Was great to hear Disclosure/Lord as R1's track of the day this morning!

YES at Snakehips and Pia Mia wub.gif. 'All My Friends' needs to be a huge huge hit.

It's been rallying well since AirPlay has begun which is good, but as I've said before with a release like this why not add it straight to the B/A list immediately when it's charting well early on?!

As Ezra said the Foo Fighters released a free EP of new tracks last week - looks like they're supporting it. They love the Foos.

Really silly to add Itch AGAIN when it was a listed even though it's a great track. Really glad radio 1 have helped them so much this era - led me to buy the album and it really is great! It's not like any other mainstream station would support a band like that.

Radio 1 need to do this more with OA releases, it's so annoying, because they could easily sustain a song while its high and make it look less like they're supporting flops. (NOT SAYING FOCUS IS A FLOP).

Posted by: steve201 25th November 2015, 10:34 PM

Yeh I used to say this to no avail when OAOS was attempted in the early download era. It was one of the reasons it didn't work first time round. The steady rise up a playlist is redundant in 2015 the way songs are released. It would also only really need to happen for established artists who naturally sell a lot first week - other artists like the current MNEK single can rise slower like their chart run.

Oh I didn't know 'Magnets' was the next proper single from Disclosure! Would be kinda surprised if it even beat its existing peak but excellent news nonetheless heart.gif

"All My Friends"! <3

loool @ Post Malone being playlisted tho. I heard "White Iverson" and liked it then I saw what he looked like and pirate.gif (in theory i should be opposed to it but i still like the song oops)

Posted by: ML Hammer95 26th November 2015, 03:39 PM

Some of my all time favourites on the retro playlist!

Ignition
I Know What You Want
Crazy In Love
No Letting Go wub.gif one of the best one hit wonders ever!
21 Questions

Love Pump It Up and Never Leave You (Uh-Oooh) too. 2003 was the hottest Summer on record and I vividly remember the heatwave that year!

Must be the year with the best chart-music of the noughties. Truly something for everyone, the breakthroughs of Black Eyed Peas, Sean Paul & 50 Cent and plenty of timeless classics were around too!

Posted by: Euphorique 26th November 2015, 05:03 PM

Nah, 2000-2 were miles better than 2003 which was an urban overload. A good year, but the other 3 were definitely superior and more varied.

Not until the Summer of that year. Songs like Ignition, Crazy In Love, Breathe & Where Is The Love spent weeks as chart toppers alongside the reggae boom and the influence of The Neptunes and Timbaland.

I think by then people had tired somewhat of 'cheesy Pop' and you can see from artists like Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera and Sugababes and songs like 'Sound Of The Underground' there was a more mature Pop sound.

All still seems more varied than 2015 does to be honest. laugh.gif

Posted by: Euphorique 26th November 2015, 05:49 PM

The pop back then was either urban pop or rock pop (Avril, Pink type). But it was definitely the year of urban music, right from the get go. Also it was the year dance music disappeared from the map, no dance song reached the top10 from August onwards.

Still, i'll take 2003 over 2005 or 2007-8 anyday.

Wow 2003 was awesome - The Darkness single stayed C Listed but they would explode by Sept with IBIATCL being released - only 2 artists still left there - Foos & Coldplay!
