Sigala are looking at a #1 single this week with their debut track "Easy Love" sampling Michael Jackson's hit 'ABC' also Justin Bieber might still be in contention for a second week at #1 with stream sales in his favour. Other key single releases this week come from Kygo with 'Here For You' this time the vocals are supplied by Ella Henderson, already has a #1 single under her belt with 'Ghost' last year. R. City collaborating with Adam Levine lead singer of Maroon 5 on 'Locked Away', Foxes with 'Better Love' and Drake with 'Hotline Bling' aiming to chart inside the top 40. Also bear in mind with X Factor been transmitted over the weekend, we could see the odd old track re-appearing back in the top 40 singles chart.
After just 1 week at #1 The Weeknd is facing tough competition this week from rock group legends Iron Maiden with their brand new studio album 'The Book Of Souls'. Other key album releases this week come from Troye Sivan 'Wild' (EP), Five Finger Death Punch 'Got Your Six', Travis Scott 'Rodeo', Oh Wonder 'Oh Wonder', Etherwood 'Blue Leaves', The Wonder Years 'No Closer To Heaven', The View 'Ropewalk' and everyone's favourite Norwegian band who had catchy classic single hits 'Take On Me', 'The Sun Always Shines On TV' and they also sang the James Bond theme track to the The Living Daylights we welcome the return of a-Ha with their brand new studio album 'Cast In Steel'.

All those pre-orders must have counted for something then despite the low sales climate! Gives me hope he can hold on.
Oh well... its early this week, if chart info is out and available on social media, there is no harm in posting the thread topic early. Funny enough I did all the prep commentary this morning ready to go.
Hoping 'a mile' can mean Sigala gets 2+ weeks at the top!
Good. Easy Love is way better than What Do You Mean?
Troye Sivan's EP is amazing, is it really eligible to chart on album chart?
Rock legends Iron Maiden is the #1 album and Troye Sivan #2 according to Mint Royale.
Troye outselling The Weeknd? WOW
According to the http://www.officialcharts.com/media/319098/official-uk-charts-album-chart-rules-april-2013.pdf, in order for a digital release to by classified as an album, it must
1) Have a dealer price (the price it's "sold" to the online store) of at least £3.75
2) Longer than 25 minutes and/or more than four songs
3) Not qualify as a maxi or remix single as defined by singles eligibility.
So based on this, would it qualify?
It's being sold for less than £3.94 so it's unlikely the dealer price would be that high. I don't know whether digital only EPs are eligible for the budget album chart?
Maybe it's time they did an EP chart!
fingers crossed for sigala~
Omg at Foxes poor ha
Do you think A-ha will have a chance at the top 15?
Peanut Butter Jelly looking very good for top 10 this week!
Iron Maiden's previous album opened with 44k and they have not lost their popularity at all. Wouldn't be surprised if they reached 50k.
I don't want Jess Glynne denying Iron Maiden a #1 album
It's not going to happen.
Will Lana outsell David after two weeks? what do you think?
David Archuleta?
Iron Maiden over 30k sales ahead of Jess Glynne. Must be on for much bigger fire week sales than their last studio album (which did ~45k)!

Wow! Birdy up 15 places to #21
Kygo top 20
I didn't doubt it happening but it's great to see Sigala smashing all competition too!
Singles top 2 and album top 5 sales added to the update, courtesy of Music Week! Sigala 16k ahead ~
Very nice position for Oh Wonder !
For those who are lazy and can't be asked to scroll through the update
Ella Eyre is at 19 with Feline
Taylor Swift is at 38 with Wildest Dreams
Troye Sivan is at 3 with the WILD - EP and at 62 with the title song
Carly Rae Jepsen is at 67 with Run Away With Me
Foxes is at 89 with Better Love
Have to say, as much as I love Foxes and almost everything she's put out, this song is very weak and probably the worst of hers so far, unfortunately
Kygo ft Ella H in at #16! v.Good result for an OA/OS.
Interesting to see how it goes (it was #74 on Spotify last time I looked)
Sales gap looks big enough for Sigala to take the #1 fairly easily this week but unfortunately a 2 week #1 looks very slim from where things stand right now.
Great to see Galantis scoring another top 10 hit iTunes stability should mean they stay top 10 for the full week too
Thank goodness Felix is stabilizing a little and hopefully Kygo stays top 20.
Wild at #62 :') the BJSC mods certainly made the right decision to veto Mr. Sivan
Loving the Carly re-entry and the Hula Hoop entry too. DJ Snake and AJ are a bit low for my liking but look how floppy Avicii is doing
And that Green Day song has entered just a little too early
Galantis should keep their #8 position which I'm happy with.
Good to see Carly poised to make its top 75 debut, hope it can keep ascending though...
yasssssss g'won sigala smash it~
16k should be enough of a gap even if there's streaming data missing!
kygo is also doing tremendously well for a oa/os release!
how on earth have iron maiden sold 45.5k?!
Nice to see Duran Duran's Rio back in the top 40 album chart, I would love to see total sales for that album, 99p on GooglePlay just bought it I only got that on Vinyl... bargain. The album chart is a bit nostalgic this week, 80s acts A'ha, Iron Maiden, Public Image Limited.
Incredible sales for Iron Maiden! (Assuming they're actually correct and the OCC aren't over-reporting sales like they did last week )
Good to see Sigala looking at an easy #1 but should have been released weeks ago yada yada yada.
Foxes Top 100 Oh Wonder not doing so badly either!
If Foxes is that low it's fair to say she stands no chance of making it officially.
They've really screwed her over with this strategy. I mean, I know she'll have struggled anyway after 'Body Talk' (criminally) flopped, but this is kind of like shooting an already lame horse in the leg before a race.
Decent sales for Iron Maiden there. What did their last album do in its first week?
Album sales have been extremely poor this year. Only two albums have passed the 100k mark in a week, both of them being regular NOW albums which are compilations
Yas Drag Me Down, up to #9 on Spotify too
Hozier From Eden Number 68, it would be wonderful if he can manage a third top 75 hit from this era.
Mint's tweets do make me cackle sometimes
Great Iron Maiden sales, prob won't surpass 60k tho lol as I'd say its front loaded and Tesco must be helping it out as BB said.
Update's in, gimme a few mins ~

Bieber closed the gap by 4 K in one day. With 3 days left that means it will be VERY close on Friday.
Justin's closing in on iTunes too so I'd imagine he'll have outsold Sigala by even more today!
dont like the sigala track, another lazy sample, so wouldnt mind bieber making it two weeks
Do you know where Demi is?
Oh dear! Didn't expect Sigala to have a chance of missing out, serves them right for putting it out at least a month after demand peaked.
Those Iron Maiden album sales are exceptional and Jess Glynne is holding up brilliantly too!
Kygo and Taylor could do with getting higher in an ideal world.
Has Locked Away edged closer to top 40?
Thanks! Climbing on iTunes still so could enter on Friday.
Shame The Hills doesn't look to be rising further.
Really hoping Sigala can just hold on, I'm worried Bieber's catching up fast so Friday could be too close to call
Justin can climb back next week
Omg come on Justin
Does anyone have a link to that site which has the approximate sales of the singles from iTunes for each day? Cheers guys
P.S. Sorry if I'm a bit vague
Demi could be good for another couple of weeks top 10 as she has TV promo later this week!
I'm pretty much certain Bieber isn't going to overcome a 12k defecit...
Has Jepsen made even the slightest of upward movements?
It's little things like Sigala not being available on Apple Music that are making it easier for Bieber to catch up.
That Calvin Harris and The Weeknd are still T5 while recent number 1s by Charlie Puth and Rachel Platten have been pushed down shows that OA/OS is definitely the way forward.

Poor Carly down 1 from yesterday (For me and Aly who care).
The gap at the top is slowly decreasing, I think Sigala will just about hold on, Sigala seems to be selling around 8k per day, Justin has slightly decreased a bit, its going to be very close, stream sales wise Sigala on 10% and Justin Bieber on 42%
Surely 8k is too much for Justin to make up in 2 days? It's going to be close though!
Bearing in mind there's also missing streaming data where Justin is further ahead by quite a way! It's not impossible for Justin to keep #1 but I can see Sigala keeping it, just about.
Looks like JB will beat his own first week sales. Really want Sigala to secure the #1 spot
I do want Sigala to keep it, but that'll make for an exciting show on Friday if it's not certain.
Drag Me Down still #15?
R City are at #42, I don't think it will get any higher, its going to lose out when missing stream sales are added along with Wildest Dreams from Taylor.
Apart from Sigala and Kygo as the only new entries, and Mark Ronson and Wiz Khalifa haunting us again with Uptown Funk and See You Again, with a further track from Jess Glynne (Hold My Hand) and probably Galantis (Runaway) are the most likely suspects to linger in the bottom end of the 40.
Apparently a "big name" artist is dropping their album at the Apple Event tonight
I'm equally quite liking 'Easy Love' and 'What Do You Mean?' so either being #1 would be fine, but it Bieber is looking likely to be #1 in its third week, I'd rather he'd stay on top.
Hopefully Iron Maiden can hit 60k. Incredible that Jess Glynne looks likely to be just 3k down on its sales week-on-week; I know she received a good boost from Strictly but she's held up well regardless.
Sigala isn't blowing me away with their sales at present - too long on preorder dare I say?
So much for 'easy #1' #misleadingitunesthreadsubtitle
I'm actually for Bieber to hold on! I don't care about any song but it would be nice if an OA/OS song on its second week held off the massively a song that should have been released at least a month ago. It would be even more important if the talks about how labels are going to ditch OA/OS again are true.
I had thought Sigala was certain for the number 1 position, it would be wonderful for it to stay there. I remain impressed with Jess Glynne sales especially on its third week on sale.
Bieber's making up 4k per day and is 8k behind Sigala with 2 days to go This is going to be an exciting gattle.
I'd like Justin to hold on too actually, I love and did buy Easy Love this week but it would be a fantastic middle finger up to the bloody radio stations and record labels who think it's fair to hold back a song for three months (waits for Easy Love to win the battle by one sale).
I think Justin has it, once you include the missing streaming data, Sigala's lead will likely reduce by 1-2k. Not to mention Justin is up to ~0.94 of Sigala on iTunes now.
Poor Sigala.
It's their own fault for holding the release back so f***ing long though.

Poor Sigala, having JB close in on him. Come on Sigala!
Two out gay artists in the top 5 albums chart (three if you include Jess Glynne who has had female relationships). When has that happened before?
R City have climbed into the Top 40 at 37 - but loads of streaming data is missing so it may drop back to 40 by Friday.
I know data is missing but I'm surprised Sigala isn't a lot closer to Justin Bieber right now, I was convinced Bieber would catch them but now I'm not so sure..
WOW so many streaming data missing, that will make tomorrow's chart more interesting
C'mon JB!!!!
Sigala will get it Justin only made up 600 without streaming
2 days of streaming data missing ~ what a tease
fully expect bieber to be #1 tomorrow now ~ if sigala somehow manage to hold on I'll be ecstatic tho~
The Wealdstone Raider won't be happy if Sigala doesn't get #1 tho
Think Sigala will just get there....
