🔥🚀🔥 Joined: 30 August 2010 Posts: 74,540 User: 11,746	POINTLESS FORTUNE It's a ... slightly new format. But mostly just two old formats smashed together. You have 10 questions – all you need to do is answer each one accordingly - POINTLESS - what you think will be the least popular answer - note that maximum points are given for incorrect answers. FAMILY FORTUNES - what answer you think will be the most popular - there are no wrong answers. At the end there is a bonus question. You must specify whether you are answering the bonus question as a POINTLESS or a FAMILY FORTUNES question. Answers must be sent to my PM inbox before this Easter Sunday - 4 April 23:59. (Overnight votes will also be accepted, but be warned I do wake up fairly early so don't chance it). You get a point for every poster who puts down the same answer as you. If you put down a wrong answer in a POINTLESS question, you will be given maximum points. If you put down a wrong answer in FAMILY FORTUNES there is no penalty aside from your mistake being pointed out for all to see. All questions relate to the OFFICIAL UK singles chart (the bonus Q also relates to the official albums chart) as determined by the OCC, not The Big Top 40, the sales only chart, or any other chart. Scoring will be weighted towards the two rounds. You are encouraged to use Google and the OCC website to help you answer the questions correctly. I hope that all makes sense! Good luck! POINTLESS Questions: A song that spent over 100 weeks in the top 100. A German performer with a top 40 hit. A cover version that reached #1 in the 21st century. A rapper with 10 or more top 40 hits. A top 40 hit by Daft Punk. FAMILY FORTUNES Questions: A novelty song that reached #1, prior to 2020. A song that had a long climb to its chart peak. A performer with exactly two top 40 hits. A top 40 hit with three credited performers. A top 40 hit that was considered an underperformance by the standards of the performer behind it. BONUS: POINTLESS FORTUNE Question: A top 40 hit, by a performer who had a #1 album in 2021. 🔥🚀🔥 Joined: 30 August 2010 Posts: 74,540 User: 11,746	Regarding scoring: At the end of the quiz results there is revealed the pointless leaderboard and the FF leaderboard, which this time will be weighted more fairly (last time it was just based on points which skewed it too much to the FF round). For the Bonus Question, If you answer it as a pointless question, your score gets added to your pointless round total. If not it's added to your FF total. So if you're 3rd in Pointless and 10th in FF you have an overall leaderboard rank of 6.5th (which will then be translated into a whole number once everyone's averages are calculated). I hope that makes some sort of sense. To answer your question @xajnipi it has to be a cover version in the traditional sense, not a half-cover, sample or interpolation. Duke Dumont 'I Got U' for example doesn't count for just sampling a little bit of that Whitney song.

If their Wikipedia Page intro uses the word “rapper” is that good enough and could it say singer 1st and rapper 2nd? Also if someone’s had some of their hits as part of a band can that count towards the 10?

Yes, as we want our Pointless scores to be as low as possible and our FF scores to be as high as possible, wouldn't that mean we're better off doing the bonus as a FF answer? Unless there's also some weighting of those scores based on whether you go for 5 or 6 of each type of question.
