"Hands to Myself" is expected to be the next single from Selena Gomez's album Revival. The music video was shot and you could see a sneak peak of it in the link below.

It can't beat "Same Old Love"'s catchiness and I feel like Selena's team is making bad decision. Not because the "Hands to Myself" song is bad but it's not the right time to release it as a single. Maybe after Christmas would be OK.

Posted by: JosephCarey 7th December 2015, 03:28 PM

^ I'd imagine it won't be impacting til after Christmas anyway!

Delighted with this single choice, my next favourite on the album wub.gif

Posted by: KWEEN_DEE 7th December 2015, 07:49 PM

This is gonna be a big hit. It's grown on me too which is a plus!

Posted by: *Callum™ 7th December 2015, 08:01 PM

as much as i quite like this song, it sounds like it belongs on a car advert ~

honestly sober or survivors were her best bets

Posted by: jark 7th December 2015, 09:48 PM

Great song. Clear third single choice.

Video looks like more of the same but she's not exactly an artiste.

Posted by: Liаm 8th December 2015, 12:03 AM

She has so many singles left (Survivors and Sober for sure as well as this, plus maybe Kill 'Em With Kindness and Me & The Rhythm) potentially but this is a perfect choice wub.gif

This could be even bigger than Good For You, it's such a jam! Same Old Love has done really well stateside actually, which was a surprise.

Posted by: GingerbreadHaus 8th December 2015, 07:22 AM

For me she's got this era so wrong post-Good For You :'( 'Sober' is the clear highlight.

Posted by: Liаm 20th December 2015, 11:21 AM

Video is out tomorrow w00t.gif Can't wait for it, judging by its iTunes positions already this could be her biggest hit yet WW with a bit of a push. I saw it top 100 here the other day with just the announcement of it being a single and the video teasers and it's #26 in the US (I don't think it's been sent to radio yet even), hopefully good signs! This is such a jam <3

Posted by: KWEEN_DEE 20th December 2015, 05:22 PM

They deff could hold the video off until the new year.

The video has premiered on Apple Music and it's amazingly hot

Posted by: Cremey 21st December 2015, 11:31 PM

Great video. Love that this is the next single, definitely her best after Good For You, hope it smashes.

The 'I mean I could but why would I want to?' line is made even better (didn't think it was possible..) by that little shoulder movement heart.gif

Posted by: BrookeOlivia 21st December 2015, 11:40 PM

I love this song wub.gif, For me its better then Good For You, I find it way more catchy. She looks great in the video aswell!

Posted by: Liаm 22nd December 2015, 12:04 AM

Brilliant video wub.gif

Posted by: KWEEN_DEE 22nd December 2015, 10:48 AM

This video makes me ill. I wish she'd stop trying to make herself a sex symbol.

Posted by: joeefoster 29th December 2015, 03:42 PM

I hope i'm proved wrong but I just don't see this smashing in the UK. GFY made top 30, SOL missed the top 50 I believe, I just think the UK are more here for DEMI rather than Selena. Although Revival truly has revived Selena's career, her hold on the US market at the moment is astounding.

Posted by: KWEEN_DEE 29th December 2015, 07:16 PM

She's always been popular there... even when she was only managing top 40 hits!

Posted by: Ryan. 29th December 2015, 07:23 PM

Selena has about matched Demi in the UK this era, although Demi's album did better. But I bet Good For You at least matched, if not outsold, Cool For The Summer despite their peaks. Same Old Love and Confident went nowhere, although the latter has had more "impact" due to its use on adverts that I've seen. That said, it always feels to me like Demi is more known and more popular in the UK in general probably thanks to her Simon Cowell connections and therefore BGT performances, Olly Murs collaborations and a general higher profile than Selena who seems very "American". Which obviously leads to the fact Selena is definitely the most popular of the two in the US!

Posted by: Mackenzie 29th December 2015, 07:43 PM

Same Old Love, Good For You and Hands to Myself is probably the best singles run I've heard from a Disney Girl, good for you Selena!

Posted by: KWEEN_DEE 29th December 2015, 09:02 PM

I'm honestly shocked Demi didn't score a performance of XF this year... I'm still trying to work out why Simon had her duet with Olly? They didn't even push it in the US, which I assumed was the point.

Posted by: Snowbot 29th December 2015, 10:19 PM

I heard this for the first time last night and INSTANT LOVE. This is how I felt with Dance Like We're Making Love by Ciara, which is one of my favourite songs of the year. So sultry that it allows her voice to play to all of its limited strengths, but as sexy as it is, it doesn't feel like it's being pushed in your face in an explicit way, instead just kind of teasing you with sex appeal. SO GOOD.

I've never thought she was particularly sexy until this video either but that fringe works WONDERS, she looks smoking.

Posted by: Jacob S 30th December 2015, 02:16 AM

I have my hands to myself, where are her hands? wub.gif

Posted by: Martyn 30th December 2015, 05:05 PM

I think to get a hit single in the UK she would need to release Me + My Girls.

Posted by: JosephCarey 30th December 2015, 05:44 PM

I think this is her best shot at a hit, it's already starting to blow up with no airplay right now. Sober as single #4 afterwards please.

Posted by: *Tim 30th December 2015, 05:55 PM

Me & Ny Girls is perfect for a start of summer release. The world needs Selena bangers. She can release Sober end of august

Posted by: Liаm 31st December 2015, 05:35 AM

Me & My Girls, Sober, Me & The Rhythm and probably Survivors ALL need to be released </3

Posted by: Noahspike 3rd January 2016, 01:38 AM

Oh Selena, what are you doing to me sleep.gif. Just checked out the video and the song's grown so much - stylistically it suits her SO well and the visuals only complement that. When she gets it right, she completely nails it, but having a track as half-baked and generally awful as 'Same Old Love' in the middle of things makes it hard to properly buy into this whole 'revival' she's pushing (I should really get around to listening to the album to get off this rollercoaster of a singles run as a basis of judgement)!

As an aside, it's quite cool that the relationship/break-up between herself and Justin is essentially responsible for them both reaching critical/cultural/commercial peaks (in the US at least) at the same time.

Posted by: KWEEN_DEE 3rd January 2016, 01:42 AM

SOL has done amazing in the US though... considering it's almost un-listenable.

not familiar with her other songs other than good for you but does she always sing in that sorta sappy voice? can't explain it but it's v distinct n I like it

Posted by: ░░░░ 9th January 2016, 11:46 PM

this is utterly INCREDIBLE

perhaps the best she's ever put out?! such an intelligently-composed track, the little, the shade, the backward facing melodies...

Posted by: jark 10th January 2016, 01:48 AM

What's a backward facing melody when it's at home?

Posted by: Jonjo 10th January 2016, 02:30 AM

Agreed with the general consensus that this is one of the best things (if not the very best) she's done. It's one of those songs that just grows and grows and doesn't feel like it'll tire at any point. It helps that this sort of sound is really "in" right now. Justin's 'Sorry' & Pia's 'Touch' are both amazing too. But I actually think this trumps both of those!

Not really, she's perfected it on this album. There are flecks on Stars Dance (in Undercover for example), her last album, but I think the reason this album is so good is that she has really found herself (even if I've admittedly loved all her albums). She doesn't have the greatest voice but on this album she really plays with her lower register which is her strength, I think she sounds so coy and playful and sexy on this and Good For You in particular.

Posted by: ░░░░ 10th January 2016, 10:59 AM

I MEAN I COULD BUT WHY WOULD I WANT TO?!

Posted by: KWEEN_DEE 10th January 2016, 12:58 PM

The only thing 'Revival' is missing is a dance pop number... and 'Me & The Rhythm' does not count... the nearest thing to it is 'Kill Em With Kindness' and again, no...

Posted by: Explozian 10th January 2016, 01:03 PM

Yeah, I really like this. She definitely plays to her asthmatic lamb vocal range on it, I love the deadpan "UH, UH" cooing and the slow build of the beats.

Posted by: mr_pmt 10th January 2016, 01:23 PM

Why does the album need a dancepop banger tho? It would be so out of place on Revival

Posted by: Jonjo 10th January 2016, 02:44 PM

Agreed. I like this album due to the fact we don't have any massive dance-pop bangers. Obviously it'd be very welcomed, but if it doesn't fit the theme or mood she was going for with the album, I don't see why she'd need to add one? It's actually quite refreshing!

Because the album is super consistent in style rolleyes.gif

She likes to forget that without 'Naturally', she wouldn't have a successful pop career.

The album is pretty cohesive tho? A dancepop banger a la I Want You To Know would be very out of place, both production and vocal wise imo.

I'm not quite sure what you're getting at with your second statement? It's not like pop stars can't explore other sounds than their debut hit?

I think you could slip a dance-pop track easily on the record... she ranges into a dancier numbers like 'me & my girls', 'me and the rhythm' and 'kill em with kindness'. Utter shame.

I do like the album though and this song has truly grown on me.

Posted by: Jonjo 10th January 2016, 07:27 PM

It's no the be all and end all just because she's opted not to have a "pop dance banger" on the album when it doesn't fit with the sound of the album at all, so I don't get why you find it so important that she should've had one? M+TR & 'Kill 'em With Kindness' both do the job successfully and keep the album flowing nicely.

Posted by: Alejandjob 10th January 2016, 07:32 PM

Screaming at Asthmatic Lamb.

Posted by: Juan Carlos 10th January 2016, 07:36 PM

The asthmatic lamb part is the most hilarious thing I've ever read so far.

Posted by: Liаm 10th January 2016, 07:47 PM

It wouldn't have sounded right if she had a song like Naturally, there are clubby dance songs on here but they're more mature and complex, Naturally is wonderful but for who is she is now it's much more basic. I'm not saying she's an innovator or anything but the production is top notch this era, Me & The Rhythm is fine as the clubby song for the album.

So? Artists develop their sound as their career progresses. It would be very boring if she was still making the same type of songs as her first album.

Admittedly I haven't heard the album apart from the singles, but I don't think she needs a dance-pop banger. She's found a sound which really works for her and she should stick with it.

Posted by: KWEEN_DEE 10th January 2016, 08:32 PM

And that's fine for you... I personally don't think songs like 'Same Old Love' and 'Body Heat' sound particularly cohesive to the album and stand out like a swore thumb, but then again that's me.

Posted by: Jonjo 10th January 2016, 09:33 PM

'Same Old Love' is so much better in the context of the album, so I disagree with that too tongue.gif I really didn't like it when it was a single choice, but hearing it with the album, it's only grown on me to the point where I actually really enjoy it now.

I agree about Same Old Love being a real slow burner. I've only just started to like it.

Posted by: Alejandjob 10th January 2016, 11:58 PM

If Selena was singing more than 5 percent of the chorus SOL would be at least a 4.

I would die! This song is phenomenal (I agree, the best she's done imo) and deserves the success to match that. Judging on the fact it looks cert to sneak into the top 40 this week, with very little airplay behind it yet (other than being TOTD) I think she might get a new chart peak here in the UK cheer.gif

I wish I had searched buzzjack for this thread sooner! I've been dying to stan over this song for ages laugh.gif
