What an absolute hot mess this show and indeed the whole format has turned into. It's literally the pop reality TV equivalent of a crazy ex-boyfriend or girlfriend going around after being dumped loudly proclaiming to anyone who'll listen that they're fine, whilst engaging in behaviour that suggests they quite patently aren't.

Simon has been trailing this now axed All Stars series since the start of this year. This fakakta yabbering onto Dan Wootton that he had the idea before Little Mix decided to do their show for the BBC is as false and staged as this show has been for the last six/seven years of its existence. And his glib declarations about how clued up he is about K-pop is beyond embarrassing.

One thing that Cheryl said about him in an interview years ago is absolutely spot on. When something's not working, he wants no part of it and/or dismisses it ever happening to begin with. When something good is happening that he's not got full involvement with, he wants to take the credit or try and outdo it with a knock off version that misses the point completely. I point you all in the direction of Girl Thing who he tried (and failed) to launch in 2000 after the Spice Girls happened.

It's probably going to anyway given how low ratings for Celebrity have been but I really hope this comes back and bites him on the backside. Poetic justice indeed.

I was looking forward to all stars as i had hoped it would have some of the previous participants i liked, everything with x factor is just a joke now, surely the end is near.

The fact that he doesn’t even want bands to apply either... 👀

Why would they want groups to apply if the point of the show is to put them together?

It just seems like a very non-Simon thing to do; normally he’s itching to ditch a member or add someone else in. Plus why not just give an already established band a shot and help them get their name out there? There’s absolutely no way he’s going to put together a group in a week and them last a week afterwards. kink.gif

If he thinks he’s making a successful group in one month, he’s deluded.

It’s as though he’s trying to kill the competition (The Masked Singer, Little Mix) by killing his own show.

And the fact he’s acting as if it’s an original idea when Popstars: The Rivals did it years ago

The fact they're turning this around so quickly just reeks of desperation. Shame about All Stars, I was looking forward to that - in fact I think it's exactly what the format needed to remind people why they liked it so much in the first place.

This is absolutely ridiculous. I am apalled!

I was so looking forward to seeing ex contestants return for All Stars.

Luckily the article says "There is every possibility next year there could be three X Factor shows — Celebrity, All Stars and another group show." so at least maybe it will still air next year.

It seem ridiculous to be launching a band when he has literally put together V5 on the celebrity version so what is the point in that if they are gonna be creating new groups next month?

I seriously doubt that he has any chance of getting the Christmas number one with the winning band.

I think X Factor needs a two year break tbh.

Bring it back in 2022 or even 2023 but it would fare better if they put it on hiatus then brought it back in a few year down the line with a fresher feel to it.

We don’t want an all stars version we just want a decent X Factor series.

Tbh the only format I was looking for was the all stars, plus I would not mind a X factor all Stars global edition

How incredibly embarrassing.

I echo everyone else, I was looking forward to some familiar faces.

It just comes across as petty trying to get one over Little Mix . The Band idea could have waited and happened some time next year if he really wanted to do it especially as he’s got a few groups on the Celebrity Version ( No Love Lost and V5 in particular) that have potential to do decently.

I was truly looking forward to All Stars and i am very disappointed it is not happening.
It is understandable why previous contestants do not want to do it, like us, they see that X Factor is passed its sell by date.

It's ridiculous that he's doing this and it's very, VERY clear that it's all in spite and nothing else. He needs to take a break. He's in full panic mode and it's ruining and killing the show completely.

Mark your watches people: 6th November 2019 was when we got video evidence of Simon losing it completely. Also his dog's reaction in this is EVERYTHING.

Is it bad of me to admit it's quite hilarious to watch? Hilarious but also when you consider the level the show was at 10 years ago quite a fall from grace. It's going to take one almighty bounce back for him to recover from this but this is of his own undoing.
