Seeming as this album already looks set to be absolutely huge, I think it deserves it's own thread. It's no surprise to see that he's been able to break through to the UK seeming how largely influenced he was by UK music, it makes it a shame there's no British artists featured on here. Another one of his major influences, 50 Cent, has executively produced the album.
Day One Spotify: 5. The Woo (feat. 50 Cent & Roddy Ricch) 10. For The Night (feat. Lil Baby & DaBaby) 12. Aim For The Moon (feat. Quavo) 13. 44 BullDog 14. Gangstas 19. Bad Bitch From Tokyo (Intro) 22. Mood Swings (feat. Lil Tjay) 24. Yea Yea 25. Something Special 26. Creatures (feat. Swae Lee) 28. Dior 29. Got It On Me 30. Make It Rain (feat. Rowdy Rebel) 31. What You Know Bout Love 32. Snitching (feat. Quavo & Future) 35. Enjoy Yourself (feat. Karol G) 36. West Coast Shit (feat. Tyga & Quavo) 50. Tunnel Vision (Outro) 51. Diana (feat. King Combs) Pop Smoke & Roddy Ricch look set to do what Ed Sheeran & Eminem couldn't: bring 50 Cent back to the charts! |

'Aim For The Moon' is still his third highest song on Apple, curious that it's fallen off so hard on Spotify compared to everything else (although it's all around a pretty solid set of day 2 positions). I think if anything overtakes it by the end of the week it'll probably be 'Got It On Me' since that also has a music video. Then 'Dior' will likely be back next week assuming it'll probably get an SCR reset.
'Make It Rain' was a good lead single, never been much of a fan of 'Dior' but I can see why it's been tacked onto the album as a bonus track again. I'll make sure to check out more songs from the album this week. His music was always a little hit or miss for me but he had a lot of potential and it's great that he was so influential in popularising the UK drill sound in New York, working with British producers and all - apparently there is a deluxe version of this coming out in a few weeks (very much increasingly becoming the norm for big hip-hop albums), I hope we'll see at least one collab with a UK artist on there although not going to hold my breath. |

It's fell behind another one of the tracks today (What You Know About Love). In fact Moon Swings is above it on Apple now so could take it's place officially. |

'Mood Swings' has taken over as his third song in the mids today. I imagine it must be very close between that and 'Got It On Me' though.

Today's chart update
8. The Woo (feat. 50 Cent & Roddy Ricch) 12. For The Night (feat. Lil Baby & DaBaby) 21. Mood Swings (feat. Lil Tjay) Day Five Spotify: 10. The Woo (feat. 50 Cent & Roddy Ricch) 19. For The Night (feat. Lil Baby & DaBaby) 23. Got It On Me 25. Mood Swings (feat. Lil Tjay) 29. Dior 40. Something Special 47. Gangstas 48. What You Know Bout Love 51. 44 BullDog 55. Enjoy Yourself (feat. Karol G) 56. Aim For The Moon (feat. Quavo) 59. Make It Rain (feat. Rowdy Rebel) 76. Yea Yea 87. Creatures (feat. Swae Lee) 117. West Coast Shit (feat. Tyga & Quavo) 120. Snitching (feat. Quavo & Future) 137. Diana (feat. King Combs) 143. Tunnel Vision (Outro) 145. Bad Bitch From Tokyo (Intro) To still have 8 songs in the top 50 at this stage is very impressive. Drake was down to 4 at this stage of Dark Lane Demo Tapes's life. |

Have checked out a handful of songs from this now (mostly the ones with features, I'll probably listen to the rest of the album at a later point) and it's mostly good stuff, 'Aim For The Moon', 'Got It On Me' and 'West Coast Shit' are the main highlights from what I've heard so far. 'Mood Swings' is... pretty bad though (this kind of overly explicit sex song feels quite inappropriate and uncomfortable in the context of being a posthumous release, not that it'd be that comfortable to listen to even without that context) so that swap in the midweeks is very much not welcome. xx 'For The Night' was also one of the weaker songs I've listened to but 'The Woo' was pretty good, so a decent track to be the biggest hit from the album here. Good to have 50 Cent back in the charts even if for a pretty tragic reason.

Final update before the chart tomorrow.
10. The Woo (feat. 50 Cent & Roddy Ricch) 14. For The Night (feat. Lil Baby & DaBaby) 23. Mood Swings (feat. Lil Tjay) Day Six Spotify: 10. The Woo (feat. 50 Cent & Roddy Ricch) 20. For The Night (feat. Lil Baby & DaBaby) 26. Got It On Me 31. Dior 32. Mood Swings (feat. Lil Tjay) 44. Something Special 51. Gangstas 55. What You Know Bout Love 62. 44 BullDog 66. Enjoy Yourself (feat. Karol G) 69. Make It Rain (feat. Rowdy Rebel) 73. Aim For The Moon (feat. Quavo) 91. Yea Yea 105. Creatures (feat. Swae Lee) 139. West Coast Shit (feat. Tyga & Quavo) 148. Snitching (feat. Quavo & Future) 170. Diana (feat. King Combs) 176. Tunnel Vision (Outro) 187. Bad Bitch From Tokyo (Intro) I think Got It On Me will pip Mood Swings for the 3rd charting track tomorrow. Can he manage a full week with every song in the top 200? |

In the end Mood Swings did hold on to that 3rd spot.
9. The Woo (feat. 50 Cent & Roddy Ricch) 14. For The Night (feat. Lil Baby & DaBaby) 23. Mood Swings (feat. Lil Tjay) The Woo has really grown on me over the past couple of days. Delighted to see it in the top 10. Out of the other 2, I much preferred Mood Swings. For The Night was too bland. |

apparently there is a deluxe version of this coming out in a few weeks (very much increasingly becoming the norm for big hip-hop albums), I hope we'll see at least one collab with a UK artist on there although not going to hold my breath. Deluxe version with another 15 new songs confirmed to be coming on Monday (an awkward midweek release but it seems to be timed for what would have been his 21st birthday). Looks like these new songs may be a bit more drill-oriented than most of the original album (Fivio Foreign has already been confirmed as a collaborator, was surprised he wasn't on there to begin with) so here's hoping they can still get a UK collab on there. |

On what would have been his 21st birthday, the deluxe version of the album has been released. Unfortunately no features from any British artists but we do get collabs with Fivio Foreign, Davido, PnB Rock, Gunna & Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, as well as the original version of 'Enjoy Yourself' with Burna Boy amongst others. I hope this deluxe version and the physical release on Friday means the album can sneak a week at #1 officially.
A video for 'The Woo' has also been released but it's non-explicit. 'She wanna.... with the woo' |

A remix of Mood Swings with Summer Walker was released today. I prefer it to the original as it omits Lil Tjay's high pitched adlibs which I found pretty annoying.
