'Escapism.' doesn't really sound much like a hit to me tbh (certainly less so than 'Black Mascara.') but I do like it quite a bit so happy to see it! Great for RAYE to be onto another hit after her label troubles and a much deserved breakthrough for 070 Shake who really deserves to be huge.
The hook keeps reminding me of Red Hot Chili Peppers' 'Under The Bridge' though *_* Not as keen on 'The Thrill Is Gone.' but otherwise really enjoying this era so far. |

It's so exciting to see people like Raye get a hit, especially when you think they're just going to get v limited success.
I mean this could of course just be a one off but it'll surely help her album and future singles too. |

This is a really good performance! I think I actually prefer it to the studio version on account of the vocal sounding more natural/less processed. I didn't actually know she was this good live! |

I love Escapism! I love how the melody switches up to match the storytelling. I laughed when someone posted a clip of her live performance on TikTok and people asked "is she out of tune?" but no, it was because they were too used to hearing the sped-up version
