So many top tier adds! So many insta-adds! So many good adds! Best playlist update for a while. I wonder if they'll add Charli next week. Can't see them adding Cheryl though.

I know he's not officially credited but it's funny to see Miley Cyrus on the playlist alongside her dad!

I don't get the decision to remove 'I Don't Care' in favour of 'Cross Me' though - usually they'd just playlist both Ed songs alongside each other. And it's really unusual for them to drop a song from the playlist while it's still #1 unsure.gif

Also Mark Ronson seems to have moved on very quickly from Late Night Feelings, I feel like that hadn't finished peaking yet. Find U Again is a great follow up though!

pretty bizarre to replace IDC with Cross Me

Posted by: ElectroBoy May 31 2019, 09:35 AM

I actually really like Cross Me (I say that as someone who hasn't really liked an Ed song for a number of years). But it does seem bizarre to drop the one with Bieber.

Good adds for 5SOS and MK.

So far today, Radio 1 has been playing both Cross Me and I Don’t Care in every show so I think they are still both on the playlist but for some reason I Don’t Care has been taken off the playlist on the website I think that might have happened to Dave earlier this year as well.

Good to see them adding things quickly today, although there’s a few songs that have been removed quite quickly, Body Funk, Church and Importef I was hoping would all get a few more weeks.
I’m surprised that they didn’t move Sigala and Becky Hill up considering how well it’s doing and the fact that they inst- added it last week. Also pleasantly surprised that Vampire Weekedb are still there, although I think they’ll be off next week.

Hoping for Krystal Klear to be added next week along with hopefully Martin Garrix but I don’t think it’s that likely for either of them!

I thought Cross Me was only a promotional single anyway so that is odd.
But maybe them dropping IDC means it’s not number one this evening? Which would be good news.
I suspect it’s an error and both will get plays though.

Good to see MK get continued support although this song is quite weak by his standards. Can’t see it taking off.

The adds are good but I’m not happy Billie and particularly Europa are out of the A List over some of the ones still in there

Posted by: Hadji May 31 2019, 10:07 AM

It’s quite bizarre of them to remove Ed after only three weeks as he’ll more likely still be #1 today

I feel like this will be the last era Katy will get R1 support for if it goes wrong for her, hopefully she can pull it back!

Removing Billie Eilish after that Big Weekend performance seems a bit rude. Bad Guy is still so huge, shame on them

Posted by: gavindeejay May 31 2019, 12:37 PM

If Radio 1 are still playing IDC then it maybe an error and both songs are sharing the plays?

Great to see MK on as well as the insta adds. Boo at them holding Sigala on the C List

No Craig David?

Its been playlisted for ages, reached its peak chart wise, its worthy of being removed imo.

Also Mango slight error the introducing band is called Childcare and the song is called "Sugarcane" not the other way round.

Yay for Katy, Miley, Mark Ronson, 5SOS, TTDC. Wish Sigala was moved up instead of One Touch but both bangers so idm as much.

That means R1 have listed it incorrectly on their website then laugh.gif I've corrected it on here though, cheers

I don’t think he’s insta add material. Maybe in a week or to!

To be fair to them they were playing Bury A Friend, then some album tracks and then Bad Guy without a break. She’s been solidly on the playlist since February 8th.

I thought she was finished after the last era tbh, happily surprised she's instant Blisted.

Posted by: gavindeejay May 31 2019, 07:41 PM

Me too. I think the song itself is pretty poor

Posted by: 1990 May 31 2019, 09:19 PM

Miley straight to A-List?! It’s not 2013 anymore.

Posted by: Bré May 31 2019, 11:37 PM

Great to see 'Ladbroke Grove' finally added, I was just thinking the other day it's surprising they haven't playlisted it yet as it seems like the kind of thing they'd love. Crossing all fingers that it'll still go top 40. Yay for Two Door Cinema Club as well ~

Yay for the Katy and Miley insta-adds!

I'd give Sigala another two weeks to move up to B-list before I start worrying, it seems more like an organic gainer and will get the needed support as it moves up the chart.

Odd to add “Satellite” by TDCC now, they’ve just released a third single (“Dirty Air”) that I think is much stronger.

Posted by: coi Jun 1 2019, 02:18 PM

To follow on from earlier, both I Don't Care and Cross Me are still being played regularly.

'Dirty Air' isn't a single, it's just a new track they put out to placate fans because the album release was pushed back I believe.

Personally I think 'Satellite' is their strongest song for years and I didn't really get much out of 'Dirty Air' on first listen but that does seem to be a bit of an unpopular opinion.

Posted by: Dan17F1 Jun 2 2019, 11:15 AM

Yeah just to say both IDC and Cross Me are both definitely on the playlist -they’ve both been played all weekend!

Posted by: SKOB Jun 2 2019, 11:22 AM

YASS great to see Mother's Daughter on playlist.. The ALMA impact!!! <3
