Streaming liked the iTunes star
In your phone and in your car
We can't rewind, we've gone too far

Streaming came and you no longer buy
So put all the blame on Spotify"

Go Drake and Newman! <3

Would be quite awesome to see Radiohead complete their return to #1 also, that chart run would look so random in retrospect laugh.gif

Posted by: Mart!n Jun 24 2016, 02:53 PM

I don't know what's bad, but after hearing "hype" which is hardly a tune, if Hype gets to #1 next week and stays there for a decade, I probably top myself.

Biography
Earning his cred as a producer before taking his music to the masses as a rapper/singer, Kent Jones is an artist signed to DJ Khaled's label, We the Best Entertainment. Born and raised in Tallahassee, Florida, Jones first became involved in music via his church, then his interests turned to jazz, a genre where he discovered the work of Quincy Jones. He later became interested in hip-hop, where he particularly admired the work of Dr. Dre and Timbaland, two bass-oriented producers who influenced Jones' own booming productions. After working with Ace Hood, DJ Traphouse, and other local artists, he was called up to the majors by DJ Khaled. Now signed to We the Best Entertainment as a triple threat -- producer, singer, and rapper -- Jones released his single "Don't Mind" and appeared alongside Ace Hood and Vado on Khaled's cut "365." The latter landed on the NBA 2K16 video game soundtrack. - iTunes

Biography
OneRepublic is an American pop rock band from Colorado Springs, Colorado. Formed in 2002 by Ryan Tedder and Zach Filkins, the band achieved commercial success on MySpace as an unsigned act. In 2003, the band was discovered by actress Kelly Barrett in Hollywood who connected them directly with her cousins Jimmy Ienner and Donnie Ienner, who was the President of Sony at that time, by making one phone call to get the AR Reps to their show. They then signed to Sony BMG for three years, before moving to Mosley Music Group.

In 2007, OneRepublic released their debut album, Dreaming Out Loud. Its lead single, "Apologize" was notably remixed by Timbaland, becoming a huge international success, reaching number one in sixteen countries, subsequently earning them a Grammy Award nomination. The second single, "Stop and Stare" mirrored its predecessor's success. The album was later certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). The band's second album, Waking Up (2009), produced the successful singles, "All the Right Moves", "Secrets", "Marchin On", and "Good Life", the latter reaching the top ten of the US Billboard Hot 100.

OneRepublic's third album, Native (2013), became the band's first top ten album on the Billboard 200, and highest charting album to date, charting at number four. The lead single, "If I Lose Myself" charted within the top ten in several countries, while the album's third single, "Counting Stars", became the band's most successful single in recent years, obtaining top five placements in Australia, Canada, Germany, Ireland, New Zealand, the U.S. and the UK. This marks their highest charting single in the United Kingdom to date. It has also peaked at number 2 on the US Billboard Hot 100, matching their highest peak of "Apologize" in 2007.

Biography
Robyn Rihanna Fenty (/riˈænə/ ree-an-ə), (born February 20, 1988) is a Barbadian singer and songwriter. Born in Saint Michael and raised in Bridgetown, she first entered the music industry by recording demo tapes under the direction of record producer Evan Rogers in 2003. She ultimately signed a recording contract with Def Jam Recordings after auditioning for its then-president, hip-hop producer and rapper Jay Z. Rihanna's first two studio albums Music of the Sun (2005) and A Girl Like Me (2006) charted on the top 10 of the U.S. Billboard 200 and respectively produced the singles "Pon de Replay" and "SOS".

She assumed creative control of her third studio album Good Girl Gone Bad (2007) and became a household name following the release of its international successful lead single "Umbrella". She followed it with five Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) platinum-certified albums, including the Grammy Award winner Unapologetic (2012) and her second Billboard 200 number-one album Anti (2016). Many of her songs rank among the world's best-selling singles of all time, including the singles "Umbrella", "Take a Bow", "Disturbia", "Only Girl (In the World)", "S&M", "We Found Love", "Diamonds" and "Stay" in which she is the lead artist, and her collaborations "Live Your Life" (with T.I.), "Love the Way You Lie" and "The Monster" (both with Eminem).

With sales exceeding 200 million records worldwide, Rihanna is one of the best-selling artists of all time. Rihanna is the youngest and fastest solo artist to earn fourteen number-one singles on the Billboard Hot 100, and was named the Digital Songs Artist of the 2000s decade and the top Hot 100 artist of the 2010s decade by Billboard. Among numerous awards and accolades, Rihanna has won eight Grammy Awards; eight American Music Awards; 23 Billboard Music Awards; two BRIT Awards; and was awarded the inaugural Icon Award at the American Music Awards of 2013. Widely recognized for frequently reinventing her style and image, she received the Fashion Icon lifetime achievement award from the Council of Fashion Designers of America in 2014. Forbes ranked Rihanna the fourth most powerful celebrity of 2012, and was named one of Time's 100 Most Influential People in the World later that year.

Biography
The Neales are a father and sons singing group who made it to the Final of Britain's Got Talent in Series 9. The group formed due to the father, Laurie Neale, suffering from a heart attack. In the audition, they performed 'When Will I Be Loved?' by the Everly Brothers. Simon Cowell commented 'I absolutely loved that audition', whilst Alesha Dixon remarked 'I can't think of a better way to audition than with your family'.

In the semi-final, the group performed 'Father and Son' by Cat Stevens, with pictures of the group when they were young running in the background. The performance made Simon Cowell feel emotional, and David Walliams commented 'it was cheesy but really heartwarming'.

In the final, the group performed 'I Won't Give up' by Jason Mraz. Again, photos from the group's past were being displayed on the screen. Despite Simon Cowell stating that he 'wasn't crazy about the song choice', David Walliams commented 'I think that the nation has fallen in love with the Neales', and Alesha Dixon praised the group by saying that 'i think [they] did really well tonight'. The group finished 9th out of 12 contestants.

Biography
Coldplay are a British rock band formed in 1996 by lead vocalist Chris Martin and lead guitarist Jonny Buckland at University College London. After they formed under the name Pectoralz, Guy Berryman joined the group as a bassist and they changed their name to Starfish. Will Champion joined as a drummer, backing vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist, completing the line-up. Manager Phil Harvey is often considered an unofficial fifth member. The band renamed themselves "Coldplay" in 1998, before recording and releasing three EPs; Safety in 1998, Brothers & Sisters as a single in 1999 and The Blue Room in the same year. The latter was their first release on a major label, after signing to Parlophone.

They achieved worldwide fame with the release of the single "Yellow" in 2000, followed by their debut album released in the same year, Parachutes, which was nominated for the Mercury Prize. The band's second album, A Rush of Blood to the Head (2002), was released to critical acclaim and won multiple awards, including NME's Album of the Year. They have also come top of the BBC Radio 2 poll of the favourite album of all time. Their next release, X&Y, the best-selling album worldwide in 2005, was met with mostly positive reviews upon its release, though some critics felt that it was inferior to its predecessor. The band's fourth studio album, Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends (2008), was produced by Brian Eno and released again to largely positive reviews, earning several Grammy nominations and wins at the 51st Grammy Awards. On 24 October 2011, they released their fifth studio album, Mylo Xyloto, which received mixed to positive reviews, topped the charts in over 34 countries, and was the UK's best-selling rock album of 2011.

The band have won a number of music awards throughout their career, including eight Brit Awards—winning Best British Group three times—five MTV Video Music Awards and seven Grammy Awards from 25 nominations. Coldplay have sold more than 80 million records worldwide. In December 2009, Rolling Stone readers voted the group the fourth-best artist of the 2000s. Coldplay have been an active supporter of various social and political causes, such as Oxfam's Make Trade Fair campaign and Amnesty International. The group have also performed at various charity projects such as Band Aid 20, Live 8, Sound Relief, Hope for Haiti Now: A Global Benefit for Earthquake Relief, The Secret Policeman's Ball, Sport Relief and the UK's Teenage Cancer Trust.

Biography
Little Mix are a British girl group formed in 2011, consisting of members Jade Thirlwall, Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, and Jesy Nelson. They were formed exclusively for the eighth series of The X Factor in 2011 and became the first, and so far, only group to win the competition. Following their victory, they signed with Simon Cowell's record label Syco Music and released a cover of Damien Rice's "Cannonball" as their winner's single.

Little Mix released their debut album DNA in 2012, which peaked inside the top 10 in ten countries including the UK and US. This made Little Mix the first girl group since The Pussycat Dolls to reach the US top 5 with their debut album, as well as earning the highest debut US chart position by a British girl group, breaking the record previously held by the Spice Girls. In the UK, the album spawned the number-one single "Wings". The group's sophomore effort "Salute" which was released in 2013, became their second album to debut inside the top 10 in both the UK and US. The album produced two top 10 singles in their home country; "Move" and "Salute". In 2015 Little Mix released their third studio album "Get Weird" which became their highest peaking and selling album in the UK. The album's lead single "Black Magic" became the groups third number one single in the UK and was also nominated for two Brit Awards in 2016. After being together as a group since 2011, they have achieved three platinum certified albums and eight certified singles in the UK. Also as of 2016, Little Mix are the only girl group from the UK to have three albums peak within the top 15 of the US Billboard 200.

Biography
Alecia Beth "Pink" Moore (born September 8, 1979) (stylized as P!nk) is an American singer, songwriter, dancer and actress. Originally a member of the girl group Choice, Pink rose to fame as an R&B artist with her debut solo album, Can't Take Me Home (2000). The album was certified double platinum in the United States and spawned two Billboard Hot 100 top-ten hits, "There You Go" and "Most Girls". She gained further recognition with the Moulin Rouge! soundtrack "Lady Marmalade", which gave Pink her first Grammy Award as well as her first number-one single on the Billboard Hot 100. Pink took more artistic control and pursued pop rock direction for her second album, Missundaztood (2001). It sold more than 17 million copies worldwide and yielded three U.S. top-ten singles, "Get the Party Started", "Don't Let Me Get Me", and "Just Like a Pill".

Pink's third studio album, Try This (2003), generated considerably lower sales, but earned her the Grammy Award for Best Female Rock Vocal Performance. Pink revived her popularity with her fourth and fifth studio albums, I'm Not Dead (2006) and Funhouse (2008), with the latter containing her second U.S. number-one hit, "So What". Pink concluded the first decade of her career with the compilation album Greatest Hits... So Far!! (2010), which featured "F**kin' Perfect" and the chart-topping single "Raise Your Glass". Her sixth studio album, The Truth About Love (2012), debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and spawned the top-ten singles "Blow Me (One Last Kiss)", "Try", and "Just Give Me a Reason", with the latter becoming her fourth U.S. number-one single. In 2014, Pink recorded a collaborative album, Rose Ave., with Canadian musician Dallas Green under a folk music duo named You+Me.

Noted for having "a strong signature voice and a literally acrobatic ability on stage", Pink has received mostly positive reception from music critics. She has sold over 190 million records worldwide. She has sold over 28 million albums in the United States. Her career accolades include three Grammy Awards, a Brit Award, and six MTV Video Music Awards. In 2009, Billboard recognized Pink as the Pop Songs Artist of the Decade. Pink was also the second most-played female solo artist in the United Kingdom during the 2000s decade, behind Madonna. VH1 ranked her number 100 on their list of the 100 Greatest Women in Music, while Billboard awarded her the Woman of the Year in 2013. At the 63rd annual BMI Pop Awards, she received the BMI President's Award for "her outstanding achievement in songwriting and global impact on pop culture and the entertainment industry."

Biography
Ariana Grande-Butera (born June 26, 1993), known professionally as Ariana Grande (/ˌɑriːˈɑːnə ˈɡrɑːndeɪ/), is an American singer and actress. She began her career in the Broadway musical 13, before landing the role of Cat Valentine on the Nickelodeon television series Victorious in 2009. After four seasons, the show ended, and Grande starred on the spinoff, Sam & Cat, which ended in 2014. She has also appeared in other theatre, television and film roles and lent her voice to animated television and films.

Grande's music career began with the soundtrack Music from Victorious (2011). She signed a recording contract with Republic Records and released her debut studio album, Yours Truly in 2013, which debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200. The album's lead single, "The Way", reached the top-ten of the Billboard Hot 100, with critics comparing her wide vocal range to Mariah Carey. Her second studio album, My Everything (2014), also reached number one in the United States. With the singles "Problem", "Break Free", "Bang Bang" and "Love Me Harder" from that album, she spent 34 continuous weeks in the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 and had the most top 10 singles of any artist in 2014. In 2015, she is promoting My Everything with her first international tour titled The Honeymoon Tour and currently guest-starring in Fox comedy-horror TV series Scream Queens.

Some of Grande's accolades include New Artist of the Year at the 2013 American Music Awards, Music Business Association's Breakthrough Artist of the Year, "Best Pop Video" at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards, "Best Song" and "Best Female" at the 2014 MTV Europe Music Awards.

Biography
Bastille (stylised as BΔSTILLE) are an English indie rock band formed in 2010. They began as a solo project by singer Dan Smith, who later decided to form a band. The four-piece is completed by Chris "Woody" Wood, William Farquarson and Kyle Simmons. They recently added a touring member to the band, Charlie Barnes. The name of the band derives from Bastille Day, which is celebrated on 14 July, Smith's birthday.

After an independently released debut single and a self-released EP, the band signed to Virgin Records. Their first studio album, Bad Blood, was released in March 2013 and entered the UK Albums Chart at number one. The band was nominated for four Brit Awards at the 2014 ceremony, winning the British Breakthrough Act. As of November 2014, Bastille have sold over 5 million records in the US and 2.5 million records in the UK.

Not to worry UV, I think "Into You" still has room to grow and climb even more, though u do think the extra play would have been nice to garner more sales.

His first studio album, Thank Me Later (2010), debuted at number one on the U.S. Billboard 200 and generated the singles "Find Your Love", "Over", "Miss Me", "Fancy", It was certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Biography
A talented Swedish vocalist and songwriter with a penchant for crafting soulful electro-pop that falls somewhere between Rihanna, Lorde, and Robyn, Zara Maria Larsson first caught the public's eyes and ears in 2008 as the winner of the popular Swedish talent show Talang Sverige (the regional version of Got Talent). Born on December 16, 1997 in Stockholm, Larsson inked a deal with Ten Music Group after winning Talang, and issued her debut EP, Introducing, which featured the hit single "Uncover," in 2013. The song was certified triple platinum in her home country, and after another EP, Allow Me to Reintroduce Myself, Larsson began work on her official debut long-player. The resulting 1 arrived in 2014 via Record Company Ten and Universal Music. Three additional singles reached the Swedish Top Ten: "She's Not Me," "Carry You Home," and "Rooftop." A pair of new singles for 2015 proved to be her international breakthrough; first "Lush Life" reached the Top Ten across Europe, then "Never Forget You" (featuring MNEK) hit the Top Ten in Great Britain. - iTunes

Biography
Patrick Chukwuemeka Okogwu (born 7 November 1988), better known by his stage name Tinie Tempah, is an English rapper, singer, songwriter, and record producer. He has been signed to Parlophone Records since 2009, a subsidiary of Warner Music Group. He created his own record and fashion label Disturbing London (DL Records) in 2007 along with his cousin, Dumi Oburota.

After releasing a couple of mixtapes, he released his long-awaited debut album, Disc-Overy, in October 2010. Preceded by two British number-one singles; "Pass Out" and "Written in the Stars", the album charted at number one and was certified Platinum the next year. In February 2011, he won two Brit Awards for Best British Breakthrough Act and Best British Single.

In November 2013, he released his second album, entitled Demonstration. Preceded by top ten singles "Trampoline" and "Children of the Sun", the album charted at number three and was certified gold by the BPI the next year. In June 2015, he released the first single from his upcoming third album, entitled "Not Letting Go". This gave Tempah his sixth UK number one, the most by any rap artist. However, on the week of 23 October 2015, Tempah earned his seventh UK number one single with "Turn the Music Louder (Rumble)", a song by KDA, which also features English singer-songwriter Katy B.

I think the most likely explanation for Mamacita missing the top 40 is it's not very good.

Biography
France's David Guetta belongs to the sparkling wave of DJs who combine Daft Punk's sleek house music with a pinch of electroclash's punch. Guetta had been DJ'ing around France playing popular tunes, but his brain was particularly rewired in 1987 when he heard a Farley Jackmaster Funk track on French radio. He taped the track, brought a copy to a gig, and promptly cleared the floor with it during one of his own sets. Things loosened up a year later when acid house came to France and Guetta successfully promoted his own club nights. It was during one of those nights in 1992 that he met Robert Owens, a Chicago-based house legend who was touring across Europe at the time. Guetta played Owens some of his own tracks, and Owens picked one he liked enough to sing over. The result was "Up and Away," a minor hit that lurked in garage DJ crates for the next four years. Guetta's carefree attitude -- that he only produces good music while he's having casual fun -- kept the DJ from releasing anything until 2001's "Just a Little More Love." The track featured American gospel singer Chris Willis, who met Guetta while on vacation in France. Another slow burner, "Just a Little More Love," kept popping up in sets for the next two years, first in an electro version and later in a pumped-up Wally Lopez remix. During this time, Guetta snuck out a bootleg remix of David Bowie's "Heroes," retitled "Just for One Day." Bowie gave the go-ahead to release the track officially, and Guetta soon had a massive hit on his hands. Guetta featured the liberated boot on his first mix CD, f*** Me I'm Famous, named after Guetta's successful Ibiza-based party. The fun-loving slacker DJ finally got around to releasing a collection of his own productions in 2004, Just a Little More Love on Astralwerks. Guetta Blaster arrived that same year, followed by Poplife in 2007. Chris Willis sang lead vocals on the latter album, which spun off multiple dance singles in multiple countries. f*** Me I'm Famous: International, Vol. 2 was then released in July 2008, giving listeners a taste of the stylish sounds that orchestrated Guetta's summer club events in Ibiza. A year later he released One Love, a platinum-selling album featuring the singles "When Love Takes Over" with Kelly Rowland, "Sexy Bitch" with Akon, and "Gettin' Over" with Chris Willis. In 2010, Guetta received five nominations at the 52nd Grammy Awards, two of them related to the One Love album and the other three for his work on the Black Eyed Peas' massive worldwide hit "I Gotta Feeling." That same year, One Love was reissued as One More Love, featuring a bonus disc of remixes and new tracks. A superstar guest list -- featuring Akon, Lil Wayne, Flo Rida, Usher, Chris Brown, and others -- would figure into his 2011 release, Nothing But the Beat, but this time the DJ's songwriting was inspired by dramatic rock bands like Coldplay. In 2014, Guetta released three singles on his own Jack Back label, all of which were rounded up on that year's Lovers on the Sun EP. Later that year Guetta released his sixth studio album, Listen. Perhaps as a reaction to inadvertently finding himself a sort of unofficial godfather to the burgeoning EDM movement, the album saw him branching out of his electro-house comfort zone, experimenting with elements of hip-hop, alternative rock, R&B, and acoustic instrumentation, and featuring guest artists as diverse as Nicki Minaj, Emeli Sandé, Sia, the Script, and Ladysmith Black Mambazo. In 2015, the LP was reissued as Listen Again with new songs and remixes added to the track list. - iTunes

Biography
Indie pop singer Dua Lipa showcased a throwback vibe and knack for catchy pop with soulful grit, much like Sia, Jessie J, or P!nk, and a slyly rebellious air like Charli XCX and Marina & the Diamonds. Born and raised in London to Kosovar-Albanian parents, the sultry-voiced pop singer attended Sylvia Young Theater School (Rita Ora, Amy Winehouse) until the age of 13, when she moved to Kosovo with her family. However, the move wouldn't last very long, as she was back in London by age 15, living on her own and pursuing a singing career. Her first demos were released in 2012, attracting the attention of Lana Del Rey's management team, who signed her and linked her up with Emile Haynie (Lana Del Rey, Bruno Mars). Her shimmery debut single "New Love" was followed up with the soulful "Be the One." - iTunes

Biography
Adele Laurie Blue Adkins MBE (/əˈdɛl/; born 5 May 1988) is an English singer and songwriter. Graduating from the BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology in 2006, Adele was given a recording contract by XL Recordings after a friend posted her demo on Myspace the same year. In 2007, she received the Brit Awards "Critics' Choice" award and won the BBC Sound of 2008 poll. Her debut album, 19, was released in 2008 to commercial and critical success. It is certified seven times platinum in the UK, and double platinum in the US. An appearance she made on Saturday Night Live in late 2008 boosted her career in the US. At the 51st Annual Grammy Awards in 2009, Adele received the awards for Best New Artist and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.

Adele released her second studio album, 21, in early 2011. The album was well received critically and surpassed the success of her debut, earning the singer numerous awards in 2012, including a record-tying six Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year; two Brit Awards, including British Album of the Year, and three American Music Awards. The album has been certified 16 times platinum in the UK, and is the fourth best-selling album in the UK of all time. In the US it has held the top position longer than any album since 1985, and is certified Diamond. The album has sold 31 million copies worldwide.

The success of 21 earned Adele numerous mentions in the Guinness Book of World Records. She is the first woman in the history of the Billboard Hot 100 to have three simultaneous top 10 singles as a lead artist, and the first female artist to simultaneously have two albums in the top five of the Billboard 200 and two singles in the top five of the Billboard Hot 100. 21 is the longest-running number one album by a female solo artist in the history of the UK and US Album Charts. In 2012, she released "Skyfall", which she wrote and recorded for the James Bond film of the same name. The song won an Academy Award, a Grammy Award, and a Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song. After taking a three-year break, Adele released her third studio album, 25, in 2015. It became the year's best-selling album and broke first week sales records in the UK and US. The lead single, "Hello", became the first song in the US to sell over one million digital copies within a week of its release.

In 2011 and 2012, Billboard named Adele Artist of the Year. In 2012, she was listed at number five on VH1's 100 Greatest Women in Music. Time magazine named her one of the most influential people in the world in 2012 and 2016. With sales of more than 100 million records, Adele is one of the best-selling recording artists in the world.

Biography
Singer Mike Posner launched his career at Duke University, where he balanced his undergraduate studies in sociology and business with his musical habits. Like fellow undergrad Asher Roth, Posner began making melodic pop-rap songs for the college crowd, filling his music with references to fraternity culture, dorm life, and young adulthood. He also compiled several mixtapes, one of which -- A Matter of Time -- topped the digital charts during the summer of 2009. After signing with J Records, he finished his degree, graduated with a 3.59 GPA, and released his full-length debut, 31 Minutes to Takeoff, in the summer of 2010. The album featured the worldwide hit "Cooler Than Me," and reached the Top Ten in the U.S. J Records dissolved soon after, and Posner moved to its parent label, RCA, but only after some legal wrangling, which was referenced in the title to his 2011 mixtape The Layover. His career with RCA officially began late that same year with the December release of "Looks Like Sex." Two more singles, "The Way It Used to Be" and "Top of the World" (featuring Big Sean), followed in 2013 as preludes to his second official album, Pages. The EP The Truth followed in 2015 and featured the hit "I Took a Pill in Ibiza." The single also landed on the 2016 LP At Night, Alone, which featured a guest appearance from the returning Big Sean. - iTunes

Biography - Cheat Codes
Los Angeles-based electronic trio Cheat Codes debuted in 2015 with their single "Visions," a floor-filling, radio-ready bite of house in a vein similar to Avicii and Swedish House Mafia. The three members of the group -- Matthew Russell, Trevor Dahl, and Kevin Ford -- each have deep roots in L.A., working on individual projects before joining forces for Cheat Codes (Dahl once performed as singer/songwriter Pluginstereo). Their different backgrounds helped inform Cheat Codes' stylistically varied sound, which can range from warm pop to outright big house bangers. After the release of "Visions," they quickly followed with the tropical-tinged "Don't Say No" (featuring Dresses), "Senses" (featuring Lostboycrow), and "Adventure" (featuring Evan Wartner). As they gained social media exposure, they joined the Chainsmokers on tour. Successive singles continued to drop into 2016, when they unveiled "Sex" (featuring Kris Kross Amsterdam), which borrowed the sentiment and chorus from the Salt-N- Pepa classic "Let's Talk About Sex." - iTunes

Biography - Kris Kross Amsterdam
Named in tribute to the early-'90s adolescent rap duo Kris Kross, Dutch DJ collective Kris Kross Amsterdam was created by brothers Jordy and Sander Huisman in 2011 when the duo established a club night in order to play the music they grew up with rather than the popular dance music that dominated the club scene. Spinning a diverse mix of R&B, hip-hop, funk, and house, the concept turned out to be a success, and the duo sold out many club nights in Amsterdam. After several years of gigs and mixtapes, as well as establishing a clothing line, the duo began collaborating with MC Yuki Kempees and working on original material in 2014. Kris Kross Amsterdam signed to Spinnin' Records and released the trap-tinged R&B single "Until the Morning" in 2015. Second single "SEX" followed in early 2016, a quasi-cover of Salt-N-Pepa's "Let's Talk About Sex" featuring assistance from Los Angeles' Cheat Codes. - iTunes

Biography
Featuring Christian Karlsson of Miike Snow and Linus Eklöw from Style of Eye, Galantis are a Swedish superduo who represent the place where EDM and pop meet. Karlsson (the man behind hits like Britney Spears' "Toxic") met Eklöw (the man behind hits like Icona Pop's "I Love It") at the Robotberget studio in Stockholm. Their mutual admiration society turned into a project once they began discussing a more poignant style of EDM that retained pop's passion. The duo set up shop on the Stockholm archipelago in the Baltic Sea, began recording, and released the "Smile" single on the Atlantic label in late 2013. The hit single "Runaway (U & I)" followed in 2014, while their debut effort, Pharmacy, landed a year later. The album featured two new singles, "Gold Dust" and "Peanut Butter Jelly." - iTunes

Biography
Sia Kate Isobelle Furler (born 18 December 1975), sometimes referred to mononymously as Sia (/ˈsiːə/), is an Australian singer and songwriter. She started her career as a singer in the local Adelaide acid jazz band Crisp in the mid-1990s. In 1997, when Crisp disbanded, she released her debut studio album titled OnlySee on Flavoured Records in Australia. Following the event, she moved to London, England and provided lead vocals for British duo Zero 7.

In 2000, Sia signed to Sony Music's sub-label Dance Pool and released her second studio album, Healing Is Difficult, the following year. Displeased with the promotion of the record, she signed to Go! Beat and released her third studio album, Colour the Small One, in 2004. Dissatisfied with the project's struggling to connect with a mainstream audience, Sia relocated to New York City in 2005 and began touring across the United States. Sia released her fourth and fifth studio releases, Some People Have Real Problems and We Are Born, in 2008 and 2010, respectively. In 2014, Sia released her sixth studio album, 1000 Forms of Fear, which was preceded by the top-ten single "Chandelier". On 29 January 2016, she released her seventh studio album This Is Acting.

Sia's music incorporates hip hop, funk and soul as a base for her vocal styling. In 2014, she was ranked the 97th richest Australian person under the age of 40 by BRW magazine, with a reported net worth of AU$20 million. Her music has received an array of accolades, including ARIA Awards and MTV Music Awards.

Biography
Los Angeles-based producer gnash (born Garrett Charles Nash) combined the emotional vulnerability of Bright Eyes with the sounds of laptop alt-R&B similar to the Weeknd's early releases. gnash got his start as a DJ and then as one part of duo Gemineyes with Harry Hudson. In 2014, his reimagining of the O.T. Genasis track "CoCo" garnered attention from blogs, which led to a string of digital singles released in 2015. His debut EP, U, was released in March of the same year. A mellow, laid-back affair, U employed gnash's rapping over woozy atmospherics which brought to mind Drake and Troye Sivan. One year later, he released his second EP, the seven-song us. gnash described the emotive, downtempo us as his personal sonic journey through life's ups and downs -- breakups, self-discovery, searching for new experiences -- that ultimately leads to loving one's self. Lead single "i hate u, i love u" featured a duet with Olivia O'Brien. A full roster of guest collaborators appeared on the EP, such as Compton rapper Buddy, Goody Grace, Mark Johns, Liphemra, Wrenn, Quin, and Rosabeales. - iTunes

Biography
Aubrey Drake Graham (born October 24, 1986), known professionally as Drake, is a Canadian rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer and actor, born and raised in Toronto, Ontario. He first garnered recognition for his role as Jimmy Brooks on the television series Degrassi: The Next Generation. He later rose to prominence as a rapper, releasing several independent mixtapes before signing to Lil Wayne's Young Money Entertainment in June 2009. Drake's EP, So Far Gone (2009), spawned the singles "Best I Ever Had", "Successful", and "I'm Goin' In", all peaking in the top ten of the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.

His first studio album, Thank Me Later (2010), debuted at number one on the U.S. Billboard 200 and generated the singles "Find Your Love", "Over", "Miss Me", "Fancy", It was certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). His second album, Take Care (2011), is his most successful to date, topping charts in the United States and Canada and producing the singles "Take Care", "Headlines" and "The Motto", the last of which is also credited for popularizing the widely used acronym YOLO. In promotion of his second album, Drake embarked on the international Club Paradise Tour, which became the most successful hip-hop tour of 2012, grossing over $42 million. It went on to represent his first Grammy Award for Best Rap Album. His third studio album, Nothing Was the Same (2013), achieved commercial success and was supported by the singles "Started from the Bottom" and "Hold On, We're Going Home". In 2015, Drake debuted two mixtapes, If You're Reading This It's Too Late and What a Time to Be Alive., with the former being certified double platinum. His fourth studio album, Views, was released in 2016 and supported with the singles, "Hotline Bling", "One Dance", and "Pop Style". He is set to headline the Summer Sixteen Tour, with rapper Future in promotion of his latest album and mixtape.

Drake is known for his soft melody and emotional lyrics. Most of his songs contain R&B and Canadian hip hop elements, and he combines rapping with singing. His work has earned him a Grammy Award, three Juno Awards, six BET Awards, and set several significant Billboard charts records. Drake has the most number-one singles on the Billboard Hot Rap Songs chart with 12 and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs with 14. He is one of two artists (the other being 50 Cent) to have simultaneously occupied the top three positions on both charts. All of Drake's commercial albums and mixtapes are certified diamond in Canada. He along with producer Noah "40" Shebib formed a record label named OVO Sound in early 2012. He produces records under the pseudonym Champagne Papi. Drake is a member of the Forbes Five, which ranks Hip Hop's Wealthiest Artists; listed fifth, he follows rappers Birdman, Jay Z, Dr. Dre, and Diddy. He is currently the global ambassador for the Toronto Raptors, his hometown NBA team.

Biography
Adam Richard Wiles (born 17 January 1984), known professionally as Calvin Harris, is a Scottish DJ, singer, songwriter, record producer, recording artist and remixer. His debut studio album, I Created Disco, was released in 2007 and was the precursor to his top-10 singles "Acceptable in the 80s" and "The Girls". In 2009, Harris released his second studio album, Ready for the Weekend, which debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart and earned a gold certification from the British Phonographic Industry within two months of release. Its lead single, "I'm Not Alone", became his first number one on the UK Singles Chart.

Harris rose to international prominence in 2012 with the release of his third studio album, 18 Months. Topping the UK charts, the album became his first to chart on the Billboard 200 in the US, reaching number 19. All eight of the album's singles; "Bounce", "Let's Go", "We'll Be Coming Back", "Sweet Nothing", "Drinking from the Bottle", "I Need Your Love", "Thinking About You" and "Feel So Close", along with "We Found Love" reached the top 10 of the UK Singles Chart.

Harris has collaborated with numerous other recording artists, including Kylie Minogue, Rita Ora, John Newman, Florence Welch, Ellie Goulding, Ne-Yo, Cheryl Cole and Gwen Stefani. His collaboration with Rihanna led to two singles, "Where Have You Been" and "We Found Love". The latter became an international success, giving Harris his first US number-one single on the Billboard Hot 100. Harris released his fourth studio album, Motion, in November 2014. It debuted at number two in the UK and number five in the US, and became Harris's second consecutive number-one album on the Dance/Electronic Albums chart. The album's first three singles—"Under Control", "Summer" and "Blame"—all topped the UK chart.

Harris holds the record for the most top 10 songs from one studio album on the UK Singles Chart with nine top 10 entries, surpassing Michael Jackson. In October 2014, he became the first artist to place three songs simultaneously on the top 10 of Billboard's Dance/Electronic Songs chart. He also became the first British solo artist to reach more than one billion streams on Spotify. Harris has received ten Brit Award nominations—three for Best British Male, and four Grammy nominations, winning a Grammy for Best Music Video in 2013. He received the British Academy's Ivor Novello Award for Songwriter of the Year in 2013 and at the 2015 Billboard Music Awards was named Top Dance/Electronic Artist. Additionally, Harris topped Forbes' list of the world's highest-paid DJs for three consecutive years from 2013 to 2015. Harris also runs his own record label Fly Eye Records.

Biography
Justin Randall Timberlake (born January 31, 1981) is an American singer, songwriter, actor and record producer. Born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee, he appeared on the television shows Star Search and The All-New Mickey Mouse Club as a child. In the late 1990s, Timberlake rose to prominence as one of the two lead vocalists and youngest member of NSYNC, which eventually became one of the best-selling boy bands of all time. During the group's hiatus, Timberlake released his debut solo album, the R&B-focused Justified (2002), which included the successful singles "Cry Me a River" and "Rock Your Body", and earned his first two Grammy Awards.

His critically acclaimed second album, FutureSex/LoveSounds (2006), characterized by its wide range of musical influences, debuted atop the US Billboard 200 and produced the Billboard Hot 100 number-one singles "SexyBack", "My Love", and "What Goes Around... Comes Around". With his first two albums exceeding sales of 10 million copies worldwide, he was established as one of the most commercially successful singers of the decade. He also has collaborated with other artists, including "Give It to Me" (with Timbaland) and "4 Minutes" (with Madonna). From 2008 through 2012, Timberlake focused on his acting career, effectively putting his music career on hiatus; he held starring roles in the films The Social Network, Bad Teacher, In Time, and Friends with Benefits.

In 2013, Timberlake resumed his music career with his third and fourth albums The 20/20 Experience and The 20/20 Experience – 2 of 2, exploring neo soul styles with the song structures of 1960s and 1970s rock. The former became the best-selling album of the year in the US with the largest sales week, and spawned the top-three singles "Suit & Tie" and "Mirrors", while the latter produced the top-ten song "Not a Bad Thing". In 2016, Timberlake will voice the lead character in DreamWorks Animation's Trolls, accompanied by the release of the song "Can't Stop the Feeling". Cemented as a touring solo artist, Timberlake plays several instruments in his live performances, accompanied by his band, The Tennessee Kids. Time named him one of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2007 and 2013. Timberlake's work has earned him numerous awards, including nine Grammy Awards, three Brit Awards, and four Emmy Awards, the latter being for his appearances on Saturday Night Live. His other ventures include record label Tennman Records, fashion label William Rast, and the restaurants Destino and Southern Hospitality.

Biography - Kungs
The esoteric touches found in the music of Kungs can be traced back to the French producer's unlikely first instrument, a djembe given him by his parents. Born Valentin Brunel and raised in Aix-en-Provence, Kungs grew up with a rock & roll-loving father who often ventured into other genres. The young producer absorbed it all, then discovered electronic music on his own in his teen years, preferring house with its upfront vocals and luxurious melodies. He began recording and uploading his own bootleg mixes around 2014, hitting with his edits of Bob Marley's "Jammin'," Lana Del Rey's "West Coast," Serge Gainsbourg's "Bonnie & Clyde," and Coldplay's "Clocks." The official remix requests came in 2015 with the producer getting a crack at Axwell & Ingrosso's "On My Way," while his collaboration with Mozambo, "To Describe You," landed that same year and earned a spot on the Hed Kandi: Tropical House compilation. A tour of Europe as opener for David Guetta followed in 2016, along with his "This Girl" single, recorded in collaboration with Cookin' on 3 Burners. - iTunes

Biography - Cookin' On 3 Burners
Comprising additional elements of jazz and street soul, Cookin’ on 3 Burners are a prestigious R&B group hailing from Melbourne, Australia. Originally made up of Hammond organ player Jake Mason, guitarist Lance Ferguson, and drummer Ivan Khatchoyan, the trio formed in 1997 after discovering they shared similar tastes in sound and genre. The three friends decided to form the band with traditional '50s- and '60s-era jazz and soul as its foundation, unified by the eclectic and prominent use of the Hammond organ, which went on to become one of the most definitive aspects of their sound; so much so that the group was also exclusively referred to as the "Hammond organ trio." The ensemble released their first 7" single, "Gravel Rash/Pie Warmer" on the Bamboo Shack label, eventually going on to join the roster of revered U.K. label, Freestyle, which put out their full-length debut, Baked, Broiled & Fried, in 2007. The trio then went on to tour and perform alongside a vast array of household acts such as Alice Russell, Quantic, Fat Freddy's Drop, and Sharon Jones & the Dap Kings. Sometime thereafter, Ferguson left the group to focus on his own funk project, the Bamboos, and was replaced by Dan West. They released their second effort, Soul Messin’, in 2009 to huge success. The record received praise for its funk-infused and highly original cover of Gary Numan's monster hit, "Cars" while the album’s lead single, "This Girl," reached the number one spot on the U.K. iTunes R&B Chart. The group then returned in 2014 with their third record, Blind Bet, which met with further acclaim, most notably for its innovative use of string and horn arrangements, and an impressive host of featured artists including Daniel Merriweather, the Bamboos' vocalist Kylie Auldist, and the Cruel Sea frontman Tex Perkins. They went on to collaborate with Perkins once more on the 2015 single "The Writing’s on the Wall," which saw the group combine their trademark soul and jazz sound with Perkins’ widely recognized swampy blues-rock stylings. It was around this time that the group began working with the Australian hip-hop artist Mantra. The collaboration took the band in a new direction, introducing more hip-hop-based tempos and funk electro vibes to their mixes. Cookin' on 3 Burners continued to branch out further with their collaborations, working with prominent French electronic producer Kungs on a reworking of "This Girl," which also saw chart success in 2016. - iTunes

One Dance number one again!

It would have been great to have a French musician at number one this week too after today.

Posted by: Mart!n Jun 24 2016, 04:42 PM

I suppose Drake will be #1 again next week, the domination continues...

Biography - Calvin Harris

Biography
Born in Ystad, Sweden in 1989, Frans Jeppsson Wall's first brush with fame came when he was seven years old and featured on the Swedish chart hit "Who's Da Man" by Elias. Released to coincide with the Euro 2006 soccer tournament, the single paid tribute to Swedish soccer star Zlatan Ibrahimović, and remained at the top of the Swedish singles chart for some 13 weeks. At the end of 2006, Frans released his own single, "Kul med Jul," although it didn't fare as well his previous single, the track still reached the singles chart and was featured on his Universal-released debut album Da Man. Two years later, Frans returned with another soccer-themed hit, "Fotbollsfest," which once again reached the top spot on the Swedish singles chart. It wouldn't be until 2016 that Frans re-entered the limelight, though, with his entry into Melodifestivalen 2016. The competition -- which finds the artist to best represent Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest -- saw Frans taking the top spot with the judges and viewers. The song "If I Were Sorry" placed fifth at the final Eurovision show in Stockholm yet went on to place high in the singles charts across Europe. - iTunes

Drake better not beat Bryan Adams' record. He ain't fit to breathe the same air as Bryan Adams

Posted by: danG Jun 24 2016, 04:44 PM

such a shame that Kungs still can't get to #1. I think his chance is gone now as he's lost a bit of iTunes momentum sad.gif

Nine non-movers in the top 10 is hilarious though but for all the wrong reasons sad.gif

Compared to Drake, Bryan Adams is a legend. He was #1 during a time where people actually had to get up off their own arse to BUY a song they liked

His future song with Jamie N Commons can go to #1 instead tbh biggrin.gif

The Drake song is in no way worthy of setting the chart records it already has let alone top the Bryan Adams record. Once Dance wont be heard of in 5 years time let alone 25 years time.

Delighted with Adele entering the top 15 officially, i would like to believe it can make the top 10 eventually. Sigala at the least have now added another top 10 hit to their credentials.

Take That not top 40 after a top 40 placing all week. I have yet to see positions 41-100 but i would be delighted if they are top 45.

Both on 2 different extremes.

Wonderful Beverley Knight clung on to a top 25 position this week. Radio 2 album of the week helped a little bit achieve this i would think.

well hopefully there's a little bit more movement at the top end of the chart next week tongue.gif

though the Billboard chart seems to have very little movement from week to week and that still gets talked about a lot, so I'm sure the UK chart will remain interesting (especially with it accurately reflecting what people are listening to now)
