So that's the 8th week in a row we've had a new entry to the A-list. Something tells me we won't get one next week.

I wonder if that is so, I always thought it was unfair to playlisted songs over the course of December as they wouldn't get the same support as songs on there the rest of the year.

I'm surprised that Coldplay aren't pushing 'Champion Of The World' as the second radio single but I like 'Everyday Life' a lot more anyway (and it is probably the third most radio friendly song on the album so still a sensible enough choice). Highly doubt it'll make the song chart anywhere but hopefully it'll keep the album selling for a bit in the new year x
Yess at 'Tokyo Drifting' showing up here my fave song at the moment - and I believe this is the first time Denzel Curry has been on the R1 playlist? Which is very overdue xx (I remember hearing 'RICKY' on an evening show on R1 but it never made the daytime playlist). Cool to see 'Deal Wiv It' belatedly on here too.

Was “Black Balloons” not playlisted then? Shame, one of my favourite songs of the year (technically released in 2018, but the video was out this year and it had heavy rotation on 6Music).

Nope, and neither was his collab with slowthai. It's surprising it has taken this long as he seems like the kind of rapper that R1 should be fans of even if he's not had any mainstream success to speak of yet.

So am I right in thinking that both Radio 1 favourites Ellie Goulding and Bastille have had their latest singles snubbed by Radio 1? Both ‘River’ and ‘Cant Fight This Feeling’ haven’t been playlisted.

No neither have. Same with Little Mix and Mabel.
I'm not sure if they have had spot plays though tbh. |

I can't imagine it's underperforming - prob sell 300k easy enough.
