Oh I just noticed that Bjork has no umlaut. That's going to bother me now.

Lorde isn't even that indie
I adore her music but she's no where near the best of what this genre forum has to offer in the way of artists so I'll be disappointed if the album track spam makes that much of a difference tbh |

Liability and Fake Happy were two of my top votes, the former is Lorde's best for me and Fake Happy was the highlight of After Laughter for me and is lyrically SO on point as well as musically ofc.

wait, don't tell me you included the votes from that troll that only voted for the lorde songs, that was clearly a troll the cqmerqn votes somehow disappeared into the sun, and we were physically unable to retrieve them. accidents happen when you run a contest of this magnitude |

16 LP - Lost On You 246
17 St. Vincent - Los Ageless 245 18 Haim - Little of Your Love 238 19 The xx - Say Something Loving 231 20 Liam Gallagher - Wall of Glass 226 Liam Gallagher broke away from Beady Eye for solo success with his album As You Were, even spawning a legit charting single Wall of Glass. The xx peak in the top 20 with "Say Something Loving", the follow up to On Hold which placed #2 in this last year. One of the leading singles to Haim's latest album, Little Of Your Love is the more upbeat and bouncier of the two (the other has placed in the top ten #spoilers). Annie Clark aka St. Vincent continues her ascent with MASSEDUCTION- the single "Los Ageless" hits hard with its gritty synth instrumental and fuzzy guitars, while being one of her most accessible and instant tracks to date. LP's "Lost On You" became a huge success in Europe, topping the charts in twelve countries |

11 Bleachers - Don't Take The Money 270
12 Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds - Holy Mountain 264 13 Steven Wilson - Pariah (feat. Ninet Tayab) 258 14 Lorde - Homemade Dynamite 252 15 Oh Wonder - Ultralife 252 London duo Oh Wonder made a splash a few years ago with their monthly single releases leading up to the debut record. They re-emerged with the optimistic and bright Ultralife, quite contrary to their past music. Lorde's "Homemade Dynamite" was pushed as the third single from Melodrama (or i assume so given the star-studded remix treatment it got), it didn't quite blow up the charts [i'm sorry] at #82 but still got higher than Perfect Places so that's not bad. She shows up again here as a backing vocalist on Bleachers' "Don't Take The Money", another US Alternative hit for prolific songwriter Jack Antonoff's band. It is of course an absolute banger and also won BJSC last year so we do recognise quality sometimes. Stemming from Porcupine Tree, Steven Wilson reached new heights with 5th album "To The Bone", and the progressive pop tune Pariah went over a storm on buzzjack. Noel Gallagher and his High Flying Birds dropped their third record little more than a month after Liam's. "Holy Mountain" was the main showcase, this relentlessly loud and cheesy glam rock cut stuck out like a sore thumb in 2017, and it was everything we needed <3 |

Poor brave Lorde. Suffering from success. (idk why she's even in this forum when she's a pop artist tho tbh lmaooo)
Pleasingly high positions for 'Pariah' and 'Say Something Loving' Much love for 'Holy Mountain' too but kinda surprised that one isn't top 10 actually ~ |

10 Lorde - The Louvre 275 BROADCAST THE BOOM BOOM BOOM even minus cqmerqn votes, our ruler Lorde manages three top 10 entries. Somewhat of a fan favourite on here as it also ranked 4th on the Melodrama rate 9 Lana Del Rey feat. The Weeknd - Lust For Life 284 AND A LUST FOR LIFE, KEEPS US ALIVE it's the title track from Lust For Life, this superstar collab with The Weeknd scraped into the UK Top 40. I haven't heard this in a wee while but i remember it being a nice dreamy tune, and i believe the song had something to do with the removal of clothing |
