30th December 1990

It's 3 weeks on top for the Righteous Brothers and not a lot going on other than, as I assume christmas songs took over the radio and TV overload would have been going on. I could check my diary, but prob no point. Clearly from the retro playlist I'd got a 50's Doowop classics CD for Xmas and listed 3 brilliant tracks that still haven't charted for me. That really needs remedying! Other than that Marc Almond's wonderful Waifs And Strays extends his top 10 run to 9 years, Bill medley gets 2 simultaneous oldies top 10's, Bananarama keep their top 40 run to 8 consecutive years, Michael Bolton pops in with a cover of Ray Charles' classic Georgia On My Mind. It's not as good, by a mile. a-ha sneak in with a rather low 75 for I Call Your name.

As silly as it sounds, I think I'd always sort of assumed they were such and such Righteous as well! laugh.gif
