GF Gaga top 20
I decided to share with you my top 20 Gaga songs that I really enjoy! This from a ‘not her biggest fan, but damn she came a long way and I appreciate that’ point of view 🤩 Been listening to her since the beginning and her recent album (wich I really enjoy) gave my inspiration to do this list. So many good Gaga songs and I recently listened to all the albums again.
Be prepared because some of your favorites might be missing and some not liked Gaga tunes night appear! Enjoy the ride and I’m looking forward to share thoughts on the songs I chosen. Just know this list was made with ❤️ Oh, and I won’t rank the songs but place them in an order that I think works.
Any predictions before we start?
—————————————————————————————-———————————————
Prediction: Bad Romance #01
I'd like to be pleasantly surprised and be proven wrong
Very excited for this! Because you're not a full regular in the Gaga forum I have no idea how this countdown will look, so colour me intrigued. Hype
YAAASSS looking forward to this!
Cool!
Yes, not a regular but somehow feeling connected to Gaga again so wanting to share that with you. And this forum seems like a nice place to share things 😊
Bad Romance will appear 😇

Marry the night
(loading 1/20)
Poor Gaga. She had a lot to live up to after the Fame/the Fame monster. I was so excited to buy Born this way (the album) but felt a bit disappointed at the time. I even went out to buy it on the first day of release actually. Some tracks I really liked but some where underwhelming. I wouldn’t say I hated this one but not a big fan. It felt a bit pretentious with the video. Another long video, I needed a break..! Over the years I begin to appreciate the album and the song so much more. I really come to enjoy the lyrics for some reason. I’m gonna marry...the night 🤩! And now I also think the video matches the vibe of the song perfectly.
So here you have it, the first song of this countdown. Thoughts?
—————————————————————————————-———————————————
MTN video is a masterpiece
The video is a masterpiece yes and the song is one of her absolute best so I am happy it has grown on you over the years. It's a superb way of opening the album and then... closing its run of singles! I love it so much, empowering ANTHEM What a great start to the countdown!
My second fave Gaga song and one of my all time fave songs. What a start.
I think Marry The Night is a little too loud, if it had been a more progressive and lower pop song it would have made more success than it already has (Platinum being a 5th single from an album that had sold 8 million copies by the end of 2011).
The music video is incredible and her performance is Oscar-worthy tho.
Thanks for replying
Glad you are enjoying this pick. I thought it was a good track to kick off this countdown. It’s definitely in my top 10 Gaga songs. And I’m glad to agree that the mv is great I think I had a Gaga overdose at the time and couldn’t handle it’s greatness
The next song will arrive soon! It’s one of her earlier stuff so get ready!
—————————————————————————————-———————————————
Eh, eh (nothing else I can say)
(loading 2/20)
Time for the next song in this countdown! I enjoyed the Fame at the time but forgot a little about it after the greatness that was the Fame monster. Recently I got back to the Fame and there are some cute tunes on the album like this one. Cute means in this case ‘a popstar at the beginning of her career writing non pretentious pop songs’. Summery, cute and carefree. That’s why this song made the list. Nothing else I can say.
How do you feel about Eh, eh?
—————————————————————————————-———————————————
'Eh Eh' is very cute! It stands out on The Fame because it's quite a different vibe to the rest of the album. It's interesting that she did this sound (with a few of her unreleased songs too - that very bubblegum sound) - if she kept up with this her entire career and subsequent albums could have been totally different
Thanks for your reply
Cute is indeed the word for this song! And indeed. Probably not as diverse as it has been now.
Eh Eh is an example of her genius songwriting, so simple yet so effective.
I love the video for Eh Eh. One of her most joyous fun filled videos she had such star quality in it back then. It showed her dress sense and personality so well.
I wish Eh Eh got a cute little single push I think it could’ve done as well as what LoveGame did here in the UK.
It’s one of my favourites from The Fame though it’s simple but effective as mentioned earlier by SKOB!
Marry The Night for me is one I don’t love as much as the fan base do but I still think it’s brilliant. I’ve never watched the full video in so long but the song itself is a brilliant opener to the BTW campaign and the instrumental of this is glorious.
Thanks for your comments
I agree. Cute and simple. With a joyful video! Could easily been a top 10 hit for her. And that’s ok wich song would you pick instead of MTN?

Bad kids
(loading 3/20)
About three years ago I rediscovered Born this way again. Loved it straight away! Wich didn’t happen at the time of release. It’s, imo, a perfect follow up to the Fame/the fame monster. More rocky and electro, a more ‘carefree and f.. you attitude. This song describes that perfectly and makes me really enjoy it. Maybe a bit cheesy with those lyrics but with that intro..I don’t give a f.. as I’m a bad kid and this is my life!
Do you enjoy Bad kids?
—————————————————————————————-———————————————
I used to love Bad Kids but now it's a bit too cheesy for me. Solid track though!
I agree but that’s why I like it actually. Feeling the cheese and attitude with this song
—————————————————————————————-———————————————
Speechless
(loading 4/20)
My favorite lines are ‘I can't believe how you looked at me.
With your Johnnie Walker eyes’. Its a bit cheesy but I love it. I hear some vocal tricks that don’t feel natural but that’s part of its charm for me. Listening to this song and the Chromatia album shown how much she’s grown. Love that and I appreciate both Gaga’s actually.
Feeling speechless as well?
—————————————————————————————-———————————————
Bad Kids is fun but it's in my bottom few on the album. Likewise Speechless is second bottom on TFM but it is amazing - just testament to how strong that collection is. She has done so many amazing live performances of it too
—————————————————————————————-———————————————
The cure
(loading 5/20)
Miss Gaga lost me after ARTPOP. I got back on track with this song. Love the seductive and ‘I will take care of you’ vibe that feels so natural with this track. Love it Glad it got her back om track carreerwise as well.
—————————————————————————————-———————————————
Y E S at that choice. Such a sublime beauty. I'm gutted we never had a full era of this vibe because I think she works expertly on it. Love it
There’s something about Bad kids and Speechless that I really like. Some sort of ‘it’s not perfect but it gives me a nice Gaga nostalgia feeling’. And, more TFM songs to come
Glad you enjoy The cure. It’s maybe not THE saving moment of her career but helped her to find her way back imo.
—————————————————————————————-———————————————
Dance in the dark
(loading 6/20)
Let’s keep this countdown going! I absolutely adored the Fame monster straight away And still do! Gaga at her very best. This song is dark, electro with a message. Love it and it won’t be the last track of the fame monster that will appear.
Is it a yes or no for you?
—————————————————————————————-———————————————
The. Best. Song. Ever. No question. No exaggeration.
Glad.you.love!
All three, Speechless, The Cure and DITD are HIGHLIGHTS of her career! The Cure is so on point as a pop song with uplifting chorus and touching story behind it.
DITD is one of the greatest songs of all time. I said what I said.
Glad you enjoy, especially DITD
There will be some less ‘good’ choises coming up
—————————————————————————————-———————————————
Shallow
(loading 7/20)
Overplayed? Yes! Gaga classic? Yes! The cure got me back to Gaga and A star is born (the movie and soundtrack) got me falling in love with her again. It was a pleasure seeing her acting that way with a define soundtrack. The movie even made me cry wich doesn’t happen that often. Great to see her getting praise and it was a pleasure to see this song become a huge hit. She needed that! Goosebumps when this song started in the movie If only for that this song deserves a spot in this countdown! Oh, and some great performances/she and Bradley had the perfect chemistry!
—————————————————————————————-———————————————
I'm now reminiscing about ASIB. I really took that era for granted :/
Oh, shame! It was amazing to see her getting back on track and having lots of succes!
Shallow is incredible. I had no idea about just how huge it would be when I first heard it. To think it's her biggest ever song now? Incredible stuff.
—————————————————————————————-———————————————
Scheiße
(loading 8/20)
Volume at it’s highest and just sing and dance. That’s how I enjoy this song the most
—————————————————————————————-———————————————
Y E S I listening to BTW earlier today and this remains a firm highlight. Such an explosive song and I love the fearless, empowering message
The fact 'Scheiße' was never a single is almost as offensive as DITD never being a single
I agree! Could have been amazing
Thanks for commenting to you both
—————————————————————————————-———————————————
Paper gangster
(loading 9/20)
Discovered the Fame and some of it’s songs again. This song I didn’t hate at the time but wasn’t a big fan either. Now I can really enjoy it. It gives my Gaga nostalgia in a good way. I can relate to the lyrics and I love that it gives me Gaga at the beginning of her career moods. Trying to be funny but clever at the same time. And I think she succeeded quite good with this one!
Your feelings about Paper gangster?
—————————————————————————————-———————————————
Great to see another fan of Paper Gangsta! Thought I was alone in that one
Paper Gangsta... The worst song on The Fame.
Paper Gangsta is my favourite from the non singles on The Fame!
I’ve always loved it. I love how it’s briefly used in Telephones music video as well something what took me years to realise
Glad you like @Hog @LJ7. And I had the same
The worst on the Fame @Ad ?
—————————————————————————————-———————————————
Gypsy
(loading 10/20)
The first song from Artpop to arrive in this countdown. I remember buying the album and feeling so disappointed with it. That was the moment Gaga lost me for some time. Looking back I must say the album isn’t that bad. It was just very pretentious and didn’t live up to my expectations at the time. Though not awful Artpop remains as one of those ‘not the best in her career’ moments. I can feel her struggle with fame and life in general. Not literal but the way the album (and the whole campaign) comes across. But hé, don’t we all struggle sometimes? So Artpop may not be the best but was needed for Gaga to grow and learn as a performer/person. Important, that’s just my perspective! And, Gypsy remains a glorious moment for me Simple as that
Feeling the Gypsy?
—————————————————————————————-———————————————
One of the worst songs on ARTPOP
Lol at me picking your worst what you don’t like about Gypsy and what’s your favorite on Artpop?
—————————————————————————————-———————————————
First 10 songs
*Marry the night
*Eh, eh
*Bad kids
*Speechless
*The cure
*Dance in the dark
*Shallow
*Scheibe
*Paper gangster
*Gypsy
Thanks for your comments this far Predictions for the next 10 songs?
—————————————————————————————-———————————————
Love those first ten! Paper Gangsta is the only odd one out, I mean I LIKE IT, it just isn't super special to me. Hope Paparazzi and Cheek to Cheek Always Remember Us This Way appear later on.
Thanks And that’s ok! Oh, I might disappoint with the next 10
—————————————————————————————-———————————————
Bad romance
(loading 11/20)
A masterpiece.com
Nothing more to add!
—————————————————————————————-———————————————
YAAASSS bad Romance is a classic of all times
Gypsy is not only the best song on ARTPOP but also one of my favourite album tracks from her. The perfest touring song.
As you say for Bad Romance, no words are needed *.* an masterpiece!
Glad I’m not the only one who loves GL And I agree!
Yeah for the BR love. Glad Billboard recently awarded it as best video of this century. Much deserved imo!
—————————————————————————————-———————————————
Judas
(loading 12/20)
Adored Judas since it’s release and still do until this day Underrated gem imo that got released to soon back in the days. It deserved to be a much bigger hit. Just love the video and song. I appreciate it when Gaga shows her bad side with a religious twist. Maybe not everybody can appreciate that and it might be reminiscent of Like a prayer..but hé, I’m just a holy fool and still in love with Judas!
How do you feel about Judas?
—————————————————————————————-———————————————
I like this song, but I can't listen to it again, it feels overplayed.
Dunno if Judas is underrated - I believe its impact has grown quite a lot through the years and it's the third most played song from the album on Spotify. And the video is amazing!!!
I find Judas to be quite overhyped in the fanbase It is great though and a fun song, but the real strength is in the MUSIC VIDEO which is one of her best
So Happy I Could Die, Alice & Babylon must be in your top 8, it's your duty!
I think Judas deserved more, as in being a Gaga classic. Love the video and I love the song as well One of them will appear!
Thanks for the comments and the next song coming soon
—————————————————————————————-———————————————
Paparazzi
(loading 13/20)
Time for the next song! And oh my Gaga, it’s a classic imo. What not to like about the song and video? Classic, weird and great lyrics. This song really got me into the Fame. And the video, oh the video I could go on about it forever but simple said I adore this one!
Your thoughts?
—————————————————————————————-———————————————
Paparazzi, I love this song, Gaga's voice on this one is as soft as a goose feather pillow. It brings back some curious memories, I'll tell you one... Back in 2009, a girl in my class was fanatic about Gaga and this song, 'Paparazzi'. She used to hum "Papa-pa-parazzi" all over the school, and at that time I hated Gaga sm and didn't understand why everyone was talking about her all the time, literally. My visions of Gaga would completely change after I watched Alejandro's video in 2010, the rest is history.
Glad you like and that’s a cute story Glad she converted you
—————————————————————————————-———————————————
Sour candy
(loading 14/20)
Stupid love was nice but didn’t got my that excited for Chromatica. Then Rain on me and this one got released (as promo) and I was totally on board. It was nice to be exited again about Gaga doing this kind of pop. Sour candy is imo a smart move! Get the Blackpink fans on board as there are quite some out there! It seems like the song isn’t very popular around here but I love it The combination between the group and Gaga works really well. Gaga brings the sour, Blackpink the candy. Oh, and I adore the 90’s beat to it!
Do you enjoy this song?
—————————————————————————————-———————————————
Paparazzi is brilliant and showed a different side to her when she was just starting out. The video is also her first masterpiece *.*
Sour Candy I am not as keen on. It ranks very low on my ranking for the latest album. I enjoy it a lot when I hear it, but it's not one I seek out (although that will probably change when we are allowed to go clubbing again and this is played everywhere I go )
Wow didn't see Sour Candy coming but I'm glad! Her hook is so irresistible and a MOMENT
I'M HARD ON THE OUTSIDE BUT IF YOU SEE INSIDE INSIDE INSIDE
I don't like K-Pop and Sour Candy couldn't change that.
I agree concerning Paparazzi! Such a moment
Glad I’m not the only Sour candy fan I love it!
Thanks for the comments
—————————————————————————————-———————————————
John Wayne
(loading 15/20)
Joanne was needed but it’s not my favorite album tbh. I find it a bit middle of the road. Then she released this song and video! Yes Gaga, get me going! Still don’t know why this was at least a small hit...#justice for John Wayne! And, this is the only Joanne track to appear on this countdown.
Your thoughts?
—————————————————————————————-———————————————
Criminal that John Wayne is the only Joanne track! I think Dancin' in Circles and Million Reasons are career highlights! I find it a very solid and well crafted album even though it is very safe like you said.
John Wayne's video was released exclusively on Apple Music the day before it was uploaded to YouTube, so it lost the impact of the first 24 hours of counting, and also lost the first two days of counting for the Hot 100 (pure sales and streams), because the video was released on Apple Music on Wednesday and uploaded to Youtube on Thursday, and Hot 100's tracking week starts on Friday. Add to that the fact that this song had zero investment on Spotify's playlists and wasn't sent to the radios either, so there was no chance of this song becoming a hit at all. The music video has 42 million views and I think that amount of views is pretty good for a video of an album track that lost the buzz of its first 24 hours due to the exclusivity of the release on Apple Music, otherwise the views would be much bigger, as this video stopped the internet on the day of its release and took fans by surprise.
I like the aesthetics and the direction of this video, but I really hate the editing. Just like Perfect Illusion video, I think the editing of this video is a passport to an epileptic seizure.
The song is good but I don't mind listening to it.
One of the funnest songs on the album. Great video too!
I do enjoy Million reasons but it’s not a top 20 moment for me! It’s funny that I found her videos a bit too much at one point but with John Wayne I was happy we got a glimpse of creative/crazy Gaga again. This song and her SB performance are the highlights of the Joanna era for me. And thanks Adelita! Still a shame though.

*The cure

Thanks for all your comments Predictions for the last 5 songs?
—————————————————————————————-———————————————
Will Rain on Me appear?
The Edge of Glory must be there.
So Happy I Could Die, Alice & Babylon must be there.
2 out of those 5 songs will appear
And I agree @Jas€!
The next song will arrive soon
—————————————————————————————-———————————————
Alejandro
(loading 16/20)
Oh, I love this one The Fame monster is pop perfection and this was a tune from the day it got released! Though most people expected a different video I really like it. Dark, mystic and very sexy. Very, very sexy actually! Again, it’s twisted Gaga combined with religion, electro and deeper lyrics. I’m a sucker for that Gaga. And I still play this song today without it ever got boring or overplayed in all these years!
Does Alejandro rock your boat?
—————————————————————————————-———————————————
YAY Alejandro! What a classic!
Yes! One of the Gaga tracks I loved from the beginning and still enjoy nowadays
The absolute classic who turned me into a lm.
Alejandro is amazing and has aged expertly. One of her best
Yeah for all the Alejandro love
Time to announce the next song!
—————————————————————————————-———————————————
Do what you want (feat. Christina Aquilera)
(loading 17/20)
Second and last song from Artpop in this countdown. Like I mentioned, I was quite disappointed with Artpop at the time. This was one of the few songs that I immediately enjoyed. Though I am a bit on the fence with this one because it had a certain singer involved combined with Gaga her own history. Still, I can’t deny the catchiness of this track. Love this version with Christina. Her powerful voice adds something good to this song. She saved the song imo from its dirtiness (yuck at the performances and video with that previous singer)..
Your thoughts?
—————————————————————————————-———————————————
The original version with R. Kelly will always be the best, fight me.
I prefer the R. Kelly version and do still enjoy listening to it but I can't deny that my affection for the song has taken a massive nosedive since it was removed from the tracklist on streaming.
As for DWUW I like both Xtina and the original version.
R Kelly’s version is better but I love that we got to see Gaga and Xtina perform together with this track. It suits both artists!
The song itself is a bop but even at the time it wasn’t one I was like massively sold on. The R Kelly version I rarely go back to now I try and just disassociate that as much as I can when I do hear it like I wouldn’t turn it off or anything but yeah. Probably one official single from here that won’t ever be performed again either on tour or used on a greatest hits album too if and when Gaga releases one of those.
I think she wants to really disassociate herself from this track more than any other one she’s done that become a single. However the curious part of me really wants to see the full length official music video for this track. I remember at the time I was devastated we never got it now I’m relieved kinda but I would still want to see it.
Thanks for all the comments comments
I’m not a part of the fanbase but I really enjoy Judas. And I understand about the Do what you want video. I even enjoyed the original version at the time. Then things start happening and it doesn’t make me feel good listening/watching it (the snippets that got leaked). So I’m happy we have the Christina version as it remains a Gaga bop imo!
—————————————————————————————-———————————————
Rain on me
(loading 18/20)
The cure and ASIB drew me back to Gaga. It was such a pleasure seeing her back on top. And then Chromatica came along! I enjoyed Stupid love but I really stanned when I heard Sour Candy and this song. Oh my Gaga! Pop at it’s best and it’s great to see her being a full force with the album/this song. It was so good to enjoy Gaga again after some disappointing albums. This is not a case of hating on Gaga/some of her albums. I see that each album got her where she is now. i really enjoy some albums and some I enjoy less I was tossing between this and another track btw..in the end I decided to include this one. I did overplayed it a little bit but I can’t deny the joy it gives me. Such a Gaga classic already imo
Do enjoy Rain on me?
—————————————————————————————-———————————————
I love this song, as you said, it's already a classic in Gaga's victorious career, a Pop perfection.
PS: Your last 2 songs must contain Alice, Babylon or So Happy I Could Die – probably my 3 fav Gaga songs.
Rain On Me continues to mature into one of her finest singles to date what were the other options out of interest?
Yasss Rain on Me!
Yeah for the Rain on me love I will announce 3 tracks who just missed out after the whole top 20 is announced Then I can reveal wich song from Chromatica was battling with Rain on me.
—————————————————————————————-———————————————
Just dance
(loading 19/20)
And then we go from her latest to her very first release! And just like Rain on me, this tracks brings me a lot of joy! Throughout the years not always my ultimate favorite but now it’s a Gaga classic imo. It’s great to see where she came from. And though the video isn’t made with the highest budget there you can tell already that Gaga had star quality! Just dance? I do everytime I hear this track.
Do you?
—————————————————————————————-———————————————
So..only one track left!
After the full list I will announce the 3 tracks who just missed out and my top 3 Gaga albums.
