How I compile my charts:
With a few exceptions, I don't go out of my way to seek out new songs - I usually wait until I hear them on the radio. I mainly listen to Radio 1 and for this reason, most (though not all) songs in my chart are those which are played on Radio 1. I don't usually add a song to my chart until it's started gaining some airplay.
Songs generally tend to climb gradually as they grow on me, peak and then fall fast, so the chart looks similar to an 80s/90s singles chart. I also usually get bored of a song within a few weeks, so songs don't generally tend to hang around the chart for more than a few weeks - typically around 9 or 10 weeks for a Number 1.
This week's chart commentary:
* Rita Ora climbs to #3 with her 'Poison', which equals the peak of her similarly-themed 'Black Widow' collaboration with Iggy Azalea. Only 'I Will Never Let You Down' has performed better when it made #1 in April last year.
* Royal Blood claim their second Top 10 hit and highest peaking single yet with 'Little Monster', as it climbs to #7 to surpass the #9 peak of 'Ten Tonne Skeleton' from last year.
* It's also a second Top 10 hit for Kygo, as 'Stole The Show' climbs to #8 on its third week in the chart; although it still has some way to go to measure up to 'Firestone' which was a massive #1 hit earlier in the year.

1 (1) Petite Meller - Baby Love (3 wks / HCP 1) [12-1-1] really baffled this isn't doing very well at all, I know it's pre orders didn't exact suggest top 10 or top 15 but top 30 would've been certain. Seems it's underperforming against PO's, the public just obviously don't get the song. Annoying because that David Zowie trash is doing the complete opposite

1 (1) Petite Meller - Baby Love (3 wks / HCP 1) [12-1-1] really baffled this isn't doing very well at all, I know it's pre orders didn't exact suggest top 10 or top 15 but top 30 would've been certain. Seems it's underperforming against PO's, the public just obviously don't get the song. Annoying because that David Zowie trash is doing the complete opposite

1 - Yeah I'm a bit baffled too really, it's not like it hasn't had any airplay. I guess the public just don't want it to be a hit
I still think she has potentail as a popstar though, to have the same level of success as, say, Foxes. 13 - I think it's alright actually, I'd say it's more catchy than good
18 - Yeah I suppose it is a bit of a flop, it's not a bad song, I just don't love it like I loved 'King'.
26 - I think in time it will become just as good as 'Youth'!
29 - Yes but that's the trouble with this song, the chorus is very catchy but the rest is kinda forgettable
34 - It sure is!

17 - I'm sure it's gonna start picking up, I can actually see it going Top 10 eventually and be a long running chart hit.
26 - It's just a bit of a grower, but I can see myself liking it just as much as any of her other singles. Maybe the chorus isn't quite as strong though. I don't think it will be a huge hit though sadly.
30 - Yes it's certainly a little different for them, and Ellie's vocals do sound lovely on it
33 - Agreed with that!
34 - I know, I'm really shocked R1 have playlisted it, and then I was even more shocked when I actually heard the song, it's a bit of a departure from her previous sound and hardly the most relevant or contemporary sound. That said, I really like it!
39 - I'm not really a big fan of this tbh, or indeed any other Jeremih song yet...

Good to see Foxes and Freak of the Week entering the former really does deserve a top 15 placing 
Major Lazer and Gabrielle Aplin's debuts are promising too
