BuzzJack Music Forum _ Movies and Theatre _ Screengrabbed! RESULTS

This has had a much better reception than I thought it would, a good amount of players (14) and a good variety of answers. They're all counted up now and ready to be presented. I dunno when the best time is though, I believe there is a Dun session tonight, I can run it at the same-ish time if people promise to post here too?

Hype for results I am pretty sure I couple a couple right but not massively sure *.*

Now, allow me to whet your appetite with some factoids:

There wasn't a single question that everyone got right.
One question in particular got NO correct answers.
Some people got to the end and thought no mention of a Sebby movie seemed normal for a Regina quiz and sent it off.
One question which was a devious image got almost everyone confused and falling into it's trap.
More people got some of the harder ones over some of the easier ones.

Ah, was no.17 actually from a comedy sequel spoofing another movie? Damn, I could have had that one. No points for me.

I'll be last probably but like with the quizzes it's when I get the films I know well wrong that is the worst laugh.gif

17 or 17? This quiz gets more baffling and bamboozling by the second.

I don't think I did either? Not knowingly. But Regina faves did help out elsewhere

Thinking that 18 may be the devious image. If it was 17 I didn't put anything at all

I think the devious image is going to be #20 and it was actually a movie Thor was in but not Thor! (I'll be so annoyed if that is right as I nearly searched other movies they were in!)

Posted by: PVRISPVDVM 25th May 2016, 03:39 PM

tbh I did think it was likely to include one of those #something2017 people but I didn't really put the effort into finding them :')

At first glance I thought that may have been a trick but I'm pretty sure there's a small clip in the Thor trailer that looks like that screengrab

1 | X-men 2

Correct: SamJudd, Jimmy Jam, Jonjo
Kind of Correct: Joe (Jean Grey - X-men 3)
Wrong: richie, Harry (Maleficent), Josh, Mack, Jahq, Ultraviolence1989 (No answer), Spadz (2012), Chez (Captain America: The Winter Soldier), lotti (The Avengers), Iz (Snow White And The Hunstsman).

2 | 127 Hours

Correct: SamJudd, Harry, richie, Josh Spadz, lotti, Mack, Jonjo, Iz, Jahq, UV
Wrong: Jimmy Jam (Monsters In The Attic), Joe, Chez

Okay firstly, sorry to Joe but I delted your pm once I put in your points and can't remember the answers you put for the ones you got wrong. I think I was right in thinking that you put X-men 3 for #1, but guessed Jean, so I gave you half marks.
1 is a scene from towards the end of X-men 2 when Jean Grey gives her life (or so we think) to hold back a large amount of water and lift the X-jet all at the same time. This unleashes her Phoenix powers and sets up for the next movie. Some interesting answers, a few of you went for movies which may or may not actually appear in this game.

127 Hours is a hard film to watch, James Franco is brilliant in it but it's gory. Said screenshot is from near the time he has to take drastic action to save himself. This was one of the questions that got almost everyone guessing right, so yay. Only one alternative answer here, a movie I've never seen.

Posted by: princess_lotti 25th May 2016, 04:30 PM

never seen either of those movies so 1 so far is a good start kink.gif

3 | Big Eyes

Correct: SamJudd, Joe, Josh, lotti, Jonjo, Jahq, Ultraviolence.
Wrong: richie (Eyes Wide Opne), Harry (Enchanted), Jimmy Jam (The Omen), Spadz (Bedknobs and Broomsticks), Chez, Mack, Iz

4 | Indiana Jones And The Temple of Doom

Correct: Jonjo, Iz
Kind Of Correct: Chez (Indiana Jones)
Wrong: SamJudd, richie (Scary Mountain 3), Harry, Jimmy Jam (Jurassic Park), Joe, Josh, Spadz (Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets), lotti, Mack, Jahq, Ultraviolence

This should have been much easier, the clue in the image....BIG EYES. Oh well, only a few of you got this Amy Adams masterpiece right. Harry placed his bets on the wrong Amy Adams masterpiece sadly. The point from which the screengrab is from is when Margarent Keane starts to doubt whether her husband is right to take credit for her work and she is overworked to the point of seeing things.

Indiana Jones is a classic movie franchise and all pretty iconic, the second one being the best of the bunch. Taking a hard shot from the big climax I figured would be an easy guess. I thought wrong, lots of wrong answers here.

Posted by: princess_lotti 25th May 2016, 04:56 PM

another two films I haven't seen, although Big Eyes I REALLY need to get round to seeing! (I just recognised it from Lana kink.gif)

Posted by: Iz~ 25th May 2016, 04:59 PM

Wow, I'm impressed with myself that I managed to get Indiana - I thought it looked familiar from what I remembered of Temple Of Doom so put down a guess.

Only kicking myself partially so far, as the first one did have X Men cross my mind as I know you're a big fan of the franchise but I wouldn't have guessed a particular movie (ie if I were to go with X Men I would've just said the first one and hoped for the best~)

127 Hours was my most confident one, great movie heart.gif

I've not seen the Indiana Jones movies for years so I don't mind getting that wrong as well, so I'm slaying as far as recognising the movies are concerned kink.gif

I agree with what UV said about the devious image too.

5 | Sleepless In Seattle

Correct: Chez, lotti, Jonjo
Wrong: SamJudd, Harry, (New Year's Eve) richie (Technodisney), Jimmy Jam, Jahq(Valentine's Day), Joe, Josh, Spadz, Iz(Ocean's 11), Mack, Ultraviolence

6 | Still Alice

Correct: SamJudd, Joe, Josh, Spadz, Chez, lotti, Mack, Jonjo, Iz, Jahq, Ultraviolence.
Wrong: richie, Harry, Jimmy Jam.

There are A LOT of rom com's set in NYC that make use of the Empire State Building but maybe none more iconic than Sleepless In Seattle, the Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks classic. I think it gets lit up like this every Valentine's Day and so it wasn't too much of a stretch to guess Valentine's Day, only thing is, SIS is from the 80's and so looks more basic comepared to what could be done today.

There's no real excuse for getting this one wrong, all you had to do was google the quote used. An emotional rollercoaster of a movie, Julianne Moore won the Oscar and so deserved to. This shot comes from a scene where she is preparing what she thinks is the most dignified thing to do when her illness gets too bad and too hard for others to care for her. It's a tearjerker, like most of this movie.

Posted by: HarryEzra 25th May 2016, 05:13 PM

I thought it could have been chat room but I didnt want to put it in case I was wrong laugh.gif Oops Weirdly though I saw Still Alice today and I saw that screen grab, oops at me laugh.gif

Can't say Indiana Jones has ever interested me as a franchise

Still Alice heart.gif What an excellent movie

(can see where the Maleficent guesses were coming from on Q1 as I was thinking Angelina)

7 | Confessions of a Shopaholic

Correct: Jimmy Jam, Joe, lotti, Jonjo, Jahq, Ultraviolence
Wrong: SamJudd (Sex And The City 2), richie (Breakfast at Tiffany's), Harry (Sex In The City), Josh, Spadz (Enchanted), chez, Iz (Hairspray), Mack

I wanna place the next two together so just one reveal in this post.
The second greatest movie ever made, starring Amy Adams twin Isla Fischer as a woman addicted to shopping. Once again, this shot was from the end of the movie, that hideous dress is hard to forget and I thought a few of you would know it, which you did. Sex And The City was a good guess, clothes, shoes etc. all feature heavily in both. Enchanted gets wrongly guessed for the second time in this quiz.

#neverforget

Ah have not see Confessions of a Shopoholic in a while and it kinda reminded me of Sex and the city Movie.

Posted by: J▲hq 25th May 2016, 05:31 PM

I hope 11 doesn't end up being Enchanted because that's the one I would've guessed it for lmao

Not seen Confessions of a Shopaholic but I do remember the dress from trailers or posters

8 | Playing It Cool

Correct: SamJudd, Josh, Ultraviolence
Wrong: richie (He Wore Long Socks), Harry (Silver Linings Playbook), Joe, Jimmy Jam ( Lost In Translation), Spadz (Jack and Jill), Chez (Happy Gilmore), lotti, Iz, Mack, Jonjo (What's Your Number?), Iz (deadpool)

9 | Captain America: The Winter Solider

Correct: Joe, Jonjo
Wrong: SamJudd, Harry, richie (The Dark Knight), Josh, Jimmy Jam, Jahq, Ultraviolence (Mad Max), Spadz (The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen), Chez, lotti, Mack, Iz,

Bucky and Cap <3

Playing It Cool is an oddly amusing movie. Either Michelle Monaghan has super strong legs or Chris Evans weighs next to nothing, I have no other explanation as to how she can lift him like that. Jonjo goes for another amazing Chris Evans movie but alas, was wrong. Not many people got this right and gave some widly different answers to it.

Sebby will be in every quiz I do, no matter what. How anyone could miss those beautiful eyes is beyond me, but yes, those are his eyes, shortly after being unmasked and revealed to be Bucky. Only two people got this, the most popular wrong answer was Mad Max which I can see people going for.

#Sebby2017

Posted by: HarryEzra 25th May 2016, 05:39 PM

I have never seen both of them but Winter Solider is on my list to watch will I'm off uni so I can watch Civil War

For some reason I thought 9 was Lexa from The 100 but it would not have been because its a movies game laugh.gif

10 | The Help

Correct: SamJudd, richie, Harry, Jimmy Jam, Joe, Josh, lotti, Jonjo, Ultraviolence
Wrong: Spadz (American Pie), Chez, Mack (Big Momma's House), Iz, Jahq

11 | Maleficant

Correct: SamJudd, Joe, Spadz, lotti, Jonjo
Wrong: richie (Avatar), Mack, Harry (Alice In Wonderland), Jimmy Jam (Into The Woods), Josh, Chez (Enchanted), Iz (Pan's Labyrinth), Jahq, Ultraviolence (Pan)

Shit pie. Lots of people guessed this movie based off that one thing. Slay. This movie is a masterpiece and if you've not seen it, you need to. Some amazing performances from the likes of Viola Davis, Octavia Spencer, Jessica Chastain and even Emma Stone.

Enchanted is guessed wrongly for the 56th time, spoiler alert, it wasn't used here. Another Disney movie is the source of this shot, Maleficant, a retelling of sorts of Sleeping Beauty. A dark film this shot comes from when Aurora is being watched by Maleficant, showing she's not as evil as people think. Lots of good guesses made here, Alice In Wonderland, another dark film being a good shot.

Posted by: Jonjo 25th May 2016, 06:14 PM

Ooh going well so far (I doubt it'll carry on, but we'll see!) The Sebby, 'Still Alice' and 'Big Eyes' ones were the ones I were absolutely 100% confident in though, so yay for being right on those.

12 | Death In Love

Correct: Joe, Jahq
Wrong: SamJudd (I Am Michael), richie (Dirty Dancing: All Male Edition) , Harry, Jimmy Jam (Brokeback Mountain), Josh, Spadz (Channing Tatum), lotti, Chez, Mack, Jonjo (Political Animals), Iz, Ultraviolence

13 | Lord of the Rings: Return of the King

Correct: Joe, Jonjo, Iz
Wrong: SamJudd, richie (Potato Wasteland), Harry, Jimmy Jam (10000BC), Josh, Spadz (Volcano), Chez, lotti, Mack,Jahq, Ultraviolence

I can't find a gif from this movie, sad times, so enjoy one of star Adam Brody. Death In Love is an odd, sexual, movie, not one I recommend, it kinda sucks. But Adam Brody and Josh Lucas being in it makes it semi decent and they get really close for a nice boogie. I dunno how two people got it, but well done those two.

I thought one of the most iconic scenes from one of the most iconic movies ever would get more correct answers. Alas not. The BIG battle of the 3rd and final LotR movie features a lot of amazing moments, namely super babe Eowyn and sexy hobbit Merry sneaking in and killing the Witch King, slay. Those two though, amazing relationship. Not gonna lie, I kinda ship them.

Posted by: HarryEzra 25th May 2016, 06:20 PM

Never seen them movies so glad I did not put anything down as would have not known what to put down.

Posted by: Joe. 25th May 2016, 06:23 PM

The Winter Solider was one of the easiest for me! How did people not get that?!

Confessions was a guess, never seen that movie - GO ME.

Maleficent is one of the worst written movies of the decade, I could never forget it.

Loving this round.

(by the way, I really tried, the only trolly answers were for ones I REALLY didn't know).

Posted by: PVRISPVDVM 25th May 2016, 06:25 PM

Yes I've definitely seen LotR quite a few times, but that thumb was still quite hard imo.

Posted by: Jonjo 25th May 2016, 06:30 PM

Ooft. Wasn't 100% sure on 'Return Of The King', in fact I think I put 'Hobbit: Battle Of Five Armies' down first, before remembering the LOTR franchise exists and I know how much you love Eowyn! laugh.gif

Correct: SamJudd, richie, Jimmy Jam, Joe, Chez, lotti, Jonjo, Ultraviolence
Wrong: Harry, Josh, spadz (Rupert and the Frog Song), Mack, Iz, Jahq

15 | Scream 2

Correct: SamJudd, Jimmy Jam, Joe, Jonjo
Wrong: richie (Miley Cirus Vehicle No.3a) , Harry, Josh, spadz, Mack, Iz, lotti, Chez (The Mummy Returns), Jahq, Ultraviolence

Back to Disney once again, this time to the recent Princess And The Frog. A lovely movie and underrated Disney movie. The scenery of this movie was gorgeous and played as much a a part of the charm of this movie as the two main characters, who spend most of the movie as frogs and eventually fall in love, aww.

Scream 2 is full of noteworthy screen shots but i decided on one of the best scenes not to feature Gale. Sidney is acting in a play and is surrounded by masked men, one being the killer, hiding in plain sight, brilliant and a beautiful scene.

Posted by: PVRISPVDVM 25th May 2016, 06:34 PM

I was slightly confident on that one, but my excuse is I have not seen TPatF, so

#richard2017 #rotti2017. Yes. Cinderella. Ella Eh Eh. Featuring Big Dickie.

Yes. A few of you got this recent remake of the Disney classic, a rather good one it has to be said. A few goo guesses from wrong people, although I'd never use Chitty Chitty Bang Bang since that movie scarred me for life. Shudder. Richard Madden being perfectly cast as Prince Charming and having to fight with a jockstrap to contain his loch ness monster. Amazing.

Gonna take a wee break for the last 4 to cool down after Dickie.

Correct: SamJudd richie, Harry, Jimmy Jam, Joe, Spadz, lotti, Jonjo, Mack, Ultraviolence

18 | Letters To Juliet

Correct: Josh, Chez, Jahq, Ultraviolence
Wrong: richie, SamJudd, Harry, Jimmy Jam, Joe, Spadz, lotti, Mack, Jonjo, Iz (Romeo & Juliet)

Firstly the one that a few of you thought was the devious one. Nope, not at all. The girl power classic has such an iconic ending that I figured you'd all get it, nope. After going on the run and causing havoc, these two women simply drive off a cliff while being chased by loads of Police cars. Amazing. I can see why Chez put Harry Potter what with the flying blue car, but it wasn't right.

And now to the ACTUAL devious one. Everyone who got this wrong and put an answer put Romeo & Juliet, which wasn't right. Letters to Juliet is set in and around Verona and has links to Juliet, brokenhearted women who visit the famous balcony write letters to Juliet in hopes of healing their heartache. This image is the one written by the amazing Vanessa Redgrave's character and forms the core of the movie. Het hot grandson makes the eye candy and Amanda Seyfried is her usual lovely self, a perfect movie really.

Correct: N/A
Wrong: Everyone. (Snow White, The Black Cauldron, Beauty And The Beast, Sleeping Beauty, Mulan)

20 | Thor

Correct: SamJudd, Harry, Jimmy Jam, Josh, Joe, Spadz, Jonjo, lotti, Jonjo, Chez, Iz, Jahq, Ultraviolence
Wrong: richie (Fireman 2: The Fire Fights Back), Mack

I am a devious host, nobody got this STONE COLD CLASSIC right. Although, the animated part lasts like, 3 minutes at the start of the film, hehe. Imagine The Nanny meets The King And I and you get this movie. Fran Drescher plays a beauty teach who somehow ends up being the teacher of the children of a widowed ruler of a small European country, Totally bonkers but totally amazing thanks to Fran. People went for the princess route in their wrong answers, which was smart since she is dressed like a damsel.

Chris Hemsworth's big biceps close this round. The turning point of the first Thor movie, he is reunited with Moomoo the hammer. In the pouring rain with a very tight t-shirt on. It's a sexy scene, but also epically epic. I don't know how people got it wrong, the hammer was there and what other muscled men in movies use hammers? richie, the floppy game host comes up with a really dumb answer here, as with all his other ones.

Scoreboard to follow soon.

Can it be checked whether points for Playing It Cool were included in my total? kink.gif I saved the PM and definitely put it but I wasn't listed as correct or incorrect on that question!

I largely entered because I saw the Return of the King pic and couldn't pass up an opportunity to get that in - very nice shot of the Pelennor fields and the best battle in the trilogy. Pretty okay with how I did, wd Jonjo.

Very pleased with 15 as Thelma and Louise was the only one I was confident of (and even then I thought Regina might have put the spoof version from Wayne's World 2 in)

Most of the films are far too new for me, so I did about as well as could be expected.
