Joseph's Hit 250 | Year-End 2016 (click the picture below!)

Chart Commentary

In past years, the first #1 of the year has led to some really odd chart toppers due to a totally dead release week occurring, but this year we've got a pretty standard chart topper, as Christopher achieves his first #1 (quite comfortably) after two top 10 hits at the end of last year. The Danish singer achieved his first chart hit with Take Me Back, a Matoma collaboration, in August last year and the track eventually went to peak at #4 a couple of months later, swiftly followed by #8 hit Heartbeat from the album Closer, which made #1 in my album chart in a very quiet week last year and re-enters this week at #13.

Christopher
2016 04 Take Me Back (Christopher & Matoma) | NAS | 24-X-35-21-10-9-4-9-15-23-30-X (10 non-consecutive weeks)
2016 08 Heartbeat | 4 | 20-8-11-18-29-40-X (6 weeks)
2017 01 Free Fall | 1 | 1-... (1+ weeks)

Madeline Juno scored a top 5 hit in 2014 with her song Like Lovers Do, a song I sent to BJSC. After that however, she failed to grace my chart again and was set to be a one-hit wonder, until this week! You Know What? finally becomes her second hit, entering at #12. It may still climb and become her second top 10 hit, and the first from her second album Salvation. Shout out to PeteFromLeeds cause I found this in his EOY! laugh.gif

Madeline Juno
2014 05 Like Lovers Do | 2 | 27-7-5-9-14-24-33-X (7 weeks)
2017 12 You Know What? | 3 | 12-... (1+ weeks)

Also this week, Jax Jones finally scores a follow-up to 2014's I Got U (Duke Dumont feat. Jax Jones), which got to #22. You Don't Know Me makes it to #18 giving him, and featured artist RAYE, a new personal best. Blossoms (pictured) also get a new personal best as they make their chart debut with Charlemagne - a late impact but I only bought their album a couple of weeks ago in the HMV sale!

Greyson Chance and Nathan Sykes also enter my chart with their new singles, expect them to make more of an impact in the coming weeks! They're joined by a few re-entries thanks to my Year-End Chart taking place right now. Ed Sheeran also enters with his two new singles but I will talk about them next week when they're set to make a huge climb!

Hi JS!

I heard that Christopher song yesterday, sounded quite good!

Good to see You Don't Know Me enter, I much prefer the other RAYE collab in the chart atm but this is decent house track & glad to see Jax Jones finally get a lead hit.

As for the Ed tracks well at least the superior song is higher biggrin.gif

Hi Seph!

Free Fall is a massive Jam cheer.gif music.gif I do prefer Heartbeat slightly but great number one!

Nice to see Pixie Lott at number four kink.gif

Jax Jones is such a massive Jam I hope it climbs your chart tbh heart.gif

Charlemange is such a great song glad to see your finally charted and liked it heart.gif

Kygo re-entering heart.gif

I think that Nathan Sykes song is alright but not as good as Give It Up tbh

The two new Ed Sheeran songs are fantastic I think I majorly prefer Castle On The Hill such a great song and I love the production but Shape Of You is great too heart.gif

Hi Joseph,

I need to listen to that N.1 unsure.gif

I discovered September Song last week and it's pretty nice.

I hope Castle on The Hill overtakes Shape Of You next week laugh.gif
