So as we're about to have the final results of the year I should probably give an update on where the YTD stands right now x
FARC currently have a lead of just shy of 100 points, are they safe to end up as our EOY #1 as they were in 2019? 
(I am still going to go back and do all the archival YTD updates in full with all the lists and stats and stuff soon, sorry again for taking forever with it xx)

aside: I hadn't actually checked yet where my top 10 result from last month had moved me up to, hooray for being safe to be in the EOY top 20 again

Anyways, that aside, 
(with an invisible Christmas hat) for these results - I haven't really been paying too much mind to what is likely to win this month, my best guess would be Lookylion but I'm not super confident about that!
It's another month of low expectations for myself and just being happy to be in the final again to see who has been into a wacky tune about killing aliens with pineapples 
I guess if it can at least pull a similar result to WEDNESDAY CAMPANELLA that would be a success for me.
Aelandor and Pagasa to slay pls. (Hoping the latter can manage a new peak with the support of the post rock niche, the mark to beat is #30 so not too much to ask)

Looking forward to these. No idea what to expect the results to do for Tori - I'm not expecting anything major obvs but it would be nice if she wasn't last! 
Also no idea what I expect to win either, I do hope my 18 pointer finishes top 10 though.

I suspect N DNTN will leapfrog me so I’ll stay where I am but actually didn’t expect to be that high! I guess three top tens and only one DNQ is a recipe for a decent finish overall.

Tense fight for a place in the top 20 of the Year-end chart!
I'm not sure what to expect from myself, this was a very unpredictable final in general, but I'm hoping it's a bit better than my usual 31-40 placings. I'm behind a lot of the tipped winners this time so I actually hope they can live up to the hype.

It's presumably an issue with the image hosting site - I know it's a bit of extra effort but uploading to Imgur is pretty quick if you'd be able to just reupload the images before each post?

(it may be helpful to forward the original PMs to me at the end of the results if you can just to triple check there weren't any errors in converting the PMs to images etc. but don't stress about that during the reveal, any errors can be ironed out at the end as per usual x)

Oops just checked it and I didn't pay attention earlier but apparently I forgot to add 9 points to Dobago and then countdown got messy...Dobago is still there but just forgot to add the points

Thanks to Roba coming through with my highest score of the night after 3 13s <3 and to Math and Travis for a few more points each as well, not quite as many as I hoped for to get me into the top 30 but nevermind assuming no major errors with the scoreboard 33rd is a little better than WEDNESDAY CAMPANELLA did (36th) so that's achieving my low standard for what I said I'd consider a success with this entry, cannot complain!
Congrats to Lookylion on a stomping debut win, will comment more a bit later after finishing checking the scoreboard but of course there's no way a lead like that would be an error

On another personal note… I know this contest I confirmed multiples times due to vetoes etc… BUT… despite not qualifying for the final, I’m so so happy that I didn’t deny Lookylion their first win by submitting Confidence Man before they did, they earnt this win and now everyone will sit up and take notice of what they send in future which more often than not is pure quality. Insane margin, that has to be one of the biggest totals ever? Congrats Lookylion! Well deserved, I suppose it was well-timed to make us all dream of going on holiday when the weather's freezing cold now! Top 10 generally looks great, wonderful to see FARC top 3 (with a metal Minecraft song! *__ only they could do that x) and great to see Sovarasma there as I wasn't expecting them too (Glad Time continues to inspire so many great covers ). Wish Aelandor had done a bit better though and some of the songs in the bottom 10 are wonderful, no way did Land of DW deserve to be last

Wow congratulations to Lookylion for the runaway victory! I certainly wasn't expecting this but well-deserved! To the person who predicted Lookylion to get a win earlier this year, well done Bre, has Lookylion scored the most number of points per nation in BJSC?
Also my first top 10!!! What a way to end the year in BJSC with a best result 
Hopefully next year will begin much better than this year in terms of results but our entry for BJSC 141 is going to be risky!

I think that's my favourite winner in a long time and winning by such a humungous margin at that *.* pleased to see Mosque that high too. That was incredibly catchy!
I'm so glad I changed my entry half way through the week after confirming seconds in lol. As the one I had confirmed was a lot slower than this one and this just got better and better the more I heard it. 14th is a new position for us in the top 20.. glad it didn't slip into 15th lol.

11th is way, way ahead of even my top expectation so I'm elated. Only actually my second 11th ever after Hozier's Take Me To Church in 2015. Also with N DNTN's big gap over us, it looks like we'll be 11th in the EOY chart, so fingers crossed for breaking the glass ceiling next year!
Thanks so much to all the voters, I really appreciate it - the four 18s was amazing. I sent An Angel's Love of course because I adore it but also because I was determined somehow to disprove the 'trance is dead' theory. I don't think a few songs that didn't connect with people means a whole genre can be written off, so I'm so happy it got over 200 points and I'll look forward to sending trance again in the future <3
The top two is fantastic, matching my own albeit the other way round, but Holiday really is a great song and very accessible so I guess maybe should have seen a landslide win coming - big big congrats to Lookylion. Extremely impressive results for a few others too - Altyr and Břtanikkä especially. Lovely to see Mosquetania top ten too.

Happy to see us ending the year with another country getting a first win, was only a matter of time for Lookylion with them bursting out of the gate with a big hit on their first attempt. The song is fine, was only a few places outside my own votes, but I'd be lying if I said I'm not a little miffed why it's been such a landslide winner / matching the record number of top scores, it was actually my least favourite of the 3 Confidence Man entries to date oops, where was this outpouring of love for 'Better Sit Down Boy'!!1 But hey, 19 (!) people placing it in their top 2 and a triple digit points lead can't be argued with!
Hooray for N DNTN hanging onto #2 at least even if very distant, and *.* for Hendinia quietly zooming into the top 3 at some point since I last checked, making for a pretty strong top 3 overall. Also not against Altyr being in the top 5 and there's some good stuff in the lower half of the top 10, great to see BYRTA being 2 for 2 on top 10 hits and Sovarasma earning a well deserved first top 10 finish!
Cumulonimbia/Kathaldazia finishing next to each other feels appropriate with how much they are practically merging into a single entity these days (in a good way)! Also fabulous to see Pagasa sneaking into the top 20 to also set a new peak, post rock bloc reliable as ever <3 and speaking of reliability... Kćlan Mikla really came 22nd again *_* and with almost the same number of points as when I sent them as well ('Draumadís' got 157 so just a slight drop this time). I suppose that still isn't bad but c'mon y'all they deserve better than this xxx any takers to try sending them a third time some day? A pretty good result for Skall and not bad for Terra Avium & Dobago too.
And the most important result of all... Jadaphonia finishing next to each other for what I believe is only the second time ever in a main contest after we came 17th & 18th in BJSC 110! (It was me who was ahead that time so appropriate for Jade to take the lead this time x).

That said, three 18s!!!1!! Thank you Bré, Jade, Chez for those and Doctor Blind for the 15, as well as all the other significant points. Picked up most of the points from fewer mid to high points (at least in the first half) rather than more trickle points, so a few big fans which is always nice to see. A decent midway position too.
Congrats to Lookylion! Always good to see a new winner, got to admit I didn't see it coming but it was in my commiserations, good song.

Well done Lookylion, one of the best winners in a while! I can easily see how that managed to run away with it though. Good to see Modern Love/Diggy Diggy Hole in the Top 10, plus a few more songs I pointed as well. Would have been nice to see Rolloland/Suedeonia/République d'Áskorza/Utopia a bit higher but glad they all made the final at least. Thanks for all the effort put in Addy for a stunning final!

That stat is actually comparatively not that impressive, especially coming only 5 contests after Stockholm Noir got 47 votes out of a possible 63 - there have been 32 songs in total which have received 38 or more votes. (Some of those were from contests that had a lot more than 57 votes in total of course but still)
19 countries placing it in their top 2 is a record by a pretty wide margin though after quickly botching together a way to check that! The old record was a three way tie on 15 - Indila and Sigala both got 5 10s/15s in addition to their 10 12s/18s, while the Clare Maguire winner got 9 18s and 6 15s.

Congratulations Lookylion, that's a very impressive score! Have to say I agree with Bré on Confidence Man having better entries in the past ('Better Sit Down Boy' indeed) but I can see why this one went further. Great to see FARC, Hendinia and N DNTN coming up behind as those were 3 of my favourites this time around.

It might be worth discussing in another topic… but has anyone had an entry sent which was already confirmed by another nation… only for that country to then go on and win the contest? I mean of course as I’ve previously said I’m very very happy for Lookylion and as I’d confirmed all kinds of entries this month in an attempt to qualify I was bemused to learn that the first time I had an submitted entry already confirmed by another nation that entry goes on to win!
I was curious if this has been anyone else’s experience before?

Congrats Lookylion, as everyone's always said, an incredible points total! I sort of twigged 'Holiday' as a contender but not a landslide winner, but since it didn't get points from me I'm glad that made no difference whatsoever. But my 18 (Hendinia) made the top 3, 'Diggy Diggy Hole' and 'Sirens' in the top 5 is iconic, and the whole top 10 was good so no complaints here. Is that Everyone You Know's best ever result here?
Honestly I thought Taahino could be a sure-fire top 10 so I'm sad to see it as low as 18th. I'd say Yehesi deserved top half as well. On the other hand, great result for Wholune, never ever thought I'd see St. Paul & The Broken Bones in BJSC let alone top 30 in the final!
I'm happy to have avoided the bottom 5, as usual just being in the final was a surprise for me so anything tonight was just a bonus. And sure enough, only qualified due to Mulgracia's deduction Anyway, thanks for the votes for Ladyhawke!

You were one vote off matching that particular obscure record! A.N.D.Y. - Minus One (feat. Tayla) {Aquafina LXIV} got 99 points from 23 votes. That was a one big final contest though, it's arguably a little more 'impressive' for Caroline given she had to get through a semi-final first.
(there was also Billie Eilish - ocean eyes (Young Bombs Remix) {Kluminican Republic LXXXV} which technically finished with 92 points from 23 votes, though that was after a deduction so doesn't really count)
edit: also most of the other songs that received high vote counts but <100 points were in contests with the 12 point/Eurovision voting system for fairly obvious reasons - if you restrict it to the even more laughably obscure record of 'highest number of votes in an 18 point system contest with semi-finals which did not reach three figures and did not have a deduction', that is all yours, comfortably beating the old record of 85 points from 19 votes for MIME - CONVERSATIONS {Ojnoj CXXXIII}. first and foremost congratulations to lookylion on the win! this was a great edition to be part of, I've playlisted my top 8 which is the most I've done for one contest I think. fantastic to see my top 3 also taking the medal positions in the exact same order!
and also: top 20 wtf!!! completely exceeded our expectations, in fact sources tell me the people of pagasa are in danger of sinking the entire archipelago into the ocean from jumping up and down simultaneously in celebration
I will thank all the countries who voted for us by name in our national thread but that was definitely more than a handful of medal points, and points from countries we didn't expect! ty ty ty, and thank you addy for the wonderful hosting job, the concept/graphics were top notch and well thought-out throughout!!
I do have a cute lil pop song lined up for the next contest or the one after ..... we will see if top 10 is within reach :~)

I sort of asked this question on Discord recently but how does it work when we reach the end of a year… is there usually some sort of TBO of the year’s highlights or justice for any rejects etc etc. I’m more keen to do some sort of review of the highlights of 2021 in BJSC but I’m unfamiliar with traditions having been AWOL for some time. I might make a personal Top 10 of my favourite entries from the year and also rank my own entries from 2021 in some fashion.
Anyway for what it’s worth it’s been fun being allowed to join you all again in BJSC in 2021, thanks for letting me take part again.

Anyway for what it’s worth it’s been fun being allowed to join you all again in BJSC in 2021, thanks for letting me take part again.
We sorta redid the TBO concept when you were enjoying what Michael would call a sound recalibration.
Rejects is dead and so is nominations. Have only run the new method a couple of times but we already agreed to run it again this year as well. Ok, I've read last few pages and I just want to thank everyone for kind words and I want to let you know that it makes me happy that you all enjoyed the ride.
The whole airline idea really came last minute and the website I discovered before the contest made it so easy for me to carry along with the theme
Other than that, when you host it makes voting super hard especially when I was constantly listening to the songs...some were growing more than the others etc etc and in the end I felt so bad I had to cut so many amazing songs from my votes, but I was happy to see that most of them actually succeeded on their own and without my little help (Hendinia, Aeroche, Sovarasma to name a few)
2021 was amazing year for our country with 6 Top 10's and eventually I ended up Top 3 in YEC who would have thought after all this time!!!

These graphics are unbelievably good Addy! Thank you for your efforts hosting a fantastic contest. Congrats to Lookylion on a debut win, and what an impressive and appropriate win for Confidence Man and “Holiday” given the theme, and now thanks to Rich I've now got the theme to “Wish You Were Here” (“The Carnival” by Gordon Giltrap) stuck in my head..
Great also to see N DNTN at #2, so close to taking the lead in total wins from the other half of 152wild, but I'm certain it'll happen soon enough. A shame Aelandor weren't a little higher in the end.

2. a Japanese sort of goth electronic track from the early 00s
I'm tempted by the second one just because it's rare to get something like that in BJSC

I think I know what I'm going to send for 141 and if I stick with it I'm going for another Godford-like moment, although this time channelling Disclosure more than Route 94.
