A schedule clash between BBC talent show The Voice and Britain’s Got Talent on ITV is all but 'inevitable'.
The broadcasters are already embroiled in a bitter war for Saturday nights - despite the fact their rival entertainment shows have yet to air. Britain’s Got Talent star Alesha Dixon confirmed the ITV show will start on Saturday March 24 – the same day as the corporation’s new show launches. Now BBC insiders have conceded a clash between the two programmes is likely. Schedules have yet to be finalised but BBC1 is aiming to broadcast the first episode between 7 and 7.30pm. An ITV insider admitted it plans to schedule Britain’s Got Talent between 7.45 and 8pm on the same night. As the opening episode of The Voice will be at least 75 minutes long – this means there will be an overlap between the two. There is also set to be a fashion battle as Miss Dixon, 33, and fellow BGT judge Amanda Holden, 41, try and outshine 23-year-old singer Jessie J who is a coach on The Voice. Which you you be watching? Personally I will watch The Voice - BGT is crap now with only a couple of decent acts in a series. Also especially since Simon went and they brought in the boring Hoff This post has been edited by euro music: 11th March 2012, 02:49 PM |

I will watch The Voice and then watch BGT on ITV player the next day or whenever I have time. BGT has kind of worn off a bit for me, I still enjoy but I last year I missed one or two and I wasn't bothered, whereas I always watch the US The Voice the next day, so I'm sure the UK version will be unmissable!

I'm actually quite glad that they're clashing; Saturday night TV is more than often dull, and I was planning on watching The Voice UK anyway, so it means I won't have to resort to the trainwreck that it Britain's Got Talent anymore

I'll be watching 'The Voice' live and 'Britains Got Talent' later online [or at least parts of it]. I really think ITV are shooting themselves in the foot though, BGT has taken a tumble since Susan Boyle year and there seems to be a lot of buzz around 'The Voice'. Surely people will tune into 'The Voice' and stick with it given it starts earlier?

The Voice.
I may watch BGT on Iplayer but only if I'm bored, I find it crap the majority of the time. |

'The Voice'. Easily. I only end up liking the singers from BGT over every other act anyway (unless they're Spellbound or Twist & Pulse ), so I'm just going to get my fix from 'The Voice' instead. I'll probably youtube the songs that get the most hype and most talked about on here or something, but I've never been too fussed with BGT if I'm honest...

I won't have access to a TV so neither out of the two though, I will probably watch The Voice on iplayer and I may not even bother with BGT, the novelty has just worn off

Britain's Got Talent isn't even relevant anymore, full of cliches and standard ITV cheesy shite. Here's hoping The Voice will be much better, that's the one I'll definetly be watching for at least the launch night.

Quite probably The Voice. It sounds so much better than Britain's Got Talent ever was and ever will be. If only Jessie and Alesha were swapped, then I'd have no qualms about going The Voice all the way, for many reasons.
Actually, asking this on a music forum... not surprised the result is conclusive as that. |

Overlap should now only be by 20 minutes or so with The Voice pushed to 7pm and BGT pushed back to 8pm.

Pretty one-sided vote by the looks of it (i can see why too). Since i'm not really bothered about BGT anymore, i'll give The Voice a chance, hoping it'll be better than last year's X Factor...surely that isn't too much to ask for?

I'm shocked at the lack of BGT support actually! Not that I disagree, it's alright to watch if nothing else is on, and I'll probably still catch up, but the novelty has definitely worn off, it certainly won't bother me at all missing 20 minutes (the way they drag on with sob stories etc. should mean that's only like 2 auditions ) so I'll probably just watch it straight after The Voice.

ITV are really hyping the latest series of Britain's Got Talent up, especially with the judging panel makeover. Has anybody seen the trail for it? It is very, very good; so it's a shame that the show itself will be the same old crap that's been tired since 2009.

Yeah the trailer makes the show actually seem somewhat interesting, which is no easy feat.

I'll probably record both of them, so I can whizz through the dull and cringey bits. I don't normally watch BGT in full, because it's too drawn out, and I don't like the kiddie acts.
