Chart Analysis

Clean Bandit unsurprisingly rack up another week at number one with 'Symphony', and becomes the fourth song to spend at least 10 consecutive weeks at number one. The last song that did this was 'This Girl' by Kungs, which eventually reached 12 weeks. Whilst they're still there Calvin Harris holds on to number two for a second week with 'Rollin'. With the album yet to drop, there is still a chance for this to make its way to the top.

Oliver Moldan and DJ Khaled swap places, with Moldan's 'High & Low' back to #3. It is now the song's 7th week in the top three but with only a #2 peak. DJ Khaled slides to #4.

At #5 there is a big climber from John Gibbons. His latest single 'P.Y.T.' follows 'Would I Lie To You' (#3) and 'Your Love' (#7) to become his third top 10 hit. Which means Jax Jones slips from the top 5 after 20 weeks, but he's still holding on well at #6. Martin Jensen falls likewise to #7, KyGomez drop to #9 and Leon Else slides to #10.

The other big climber into the top ten comes from Watermät, up to #8 with his latest single 'Won't Stop'. It follows his massive sleeper hit 'Fade', which may have only peaked at #17 but spends its 27th week in the chart this week at #20, climbing five places off the back of 'Won't Stop's success. Watermät's previous top ten hits include the massive debut 'Bullit' (#2) and his collab with singer Becky Hill, 'All My Love' (#4).

One of last week's top ten entries, '1UL' by Danny L Harle falls to #11. Zara Larsson drops six places to #14 with 'TG4M'. Climbing to within touching distance of the top 10 is the new single from Lucas & Steve. 'Up Till Dawn (On The Move)', which samples Barthezz's 00s trance hit 'On The Move' climbs 40 places to #12 to become the seventh top 40 hit for the duo, which includes their top ten hits 'Blinded' (#5), 'Everybody Be Somebody' (#3) and 'Eagle Eyes' (#2), the latter two which are remixes by them.

nanobii ascends 12 places to #25 with 'Chipland'. Toddla T climbs 2 spots to #36 with 'Beast'.

Maggie Lindemann jumps into the top 40 at #33 with 'Pretty Girl', helped by Cheat Codes on the remix and incidentally becoming their fourth top 40 hit. It is the first hit for Lindemann.

Selena Gomez is brand new at #34 with 'Bad Liar', her sixth top 40 hit. Her last hit as a leading artist was 'Hands To Myself' (#35), and her biggest hit is, of course, 'It Ain't Me' (#5) which is still in the top 10 this week.

Cashmere Cat jumps to #37 with 'Quit', his second top 40 hit following 'Trust Nobody' (#33) earlier this year and also the sixth top 40 hit for featured singer Ariana Grande. Katy Perry enters the chart at #38 with 'Swish Swish', her 12th top 40 hit and directly following 'Chained To The Rhythm' (#7) and the 26th for Nicki Minaj who also appears on the track.

ALMA leaps to #39 with 'Chasing Highs', her fourth top 40 hit following 'Bonfire' (#4), 'Karma' (#32) and 'Dye My Hair' (#37).

Elsewhere in the chart, Katy Perry's 'Bon Appétit' jumps into the top 50 following the release of 'Swish Swish', and there are new entries from Sonny Fodera, DJ Licious, Mahmut Orhan, AJR, Sub Focus, Leon Else and Shakira.

Won't Stop is not as good as Bullit but I like it.
Selena and Katy Perry top 40 here. You're a Pop guy now.

Will anything ever knock Clean Zara off the top spot? Normally I'd want Calvin at the top but Rollin' just isn't doing it for me Maybe P.Y.T at the top next week?

Great new entry from Selena, I much prefer this to anything from her last era (other than Same Old Love, by far her best output in my opinion)

Shame to see Paramore falling Such an unexpectedly amazing song

No change for the Top 2 this week then. Will Calvin end Clean Zara's Symphony next week?

Big climb for John Gibbons, I've not really taken to the track yet, it's a far cry from Would I Lie To You.

Not heard your highest Watermät single, but I usually like their music to a degree.

Selena Gomez and Katy Perry making some hart impact in the Top 40 then.

Recap:

- I hope he makes the top 40 soon, though annoyingly he hasn't taken off on streams yet. I'm sure it will though, sounds like a big summer hit.
- Well topping 'Bullit' is incredibly hard, but surprisingly Watermät is still bringing the tunes.
- Nah, I'm still a Dance guy. I've always liked a good pop song though.
- I am quite liking it, I'm sure it will make my top 40 soon.

- No, they're going to stay at #1 forever. Well I'm sure something will come along eventually but it's still my favourite song at the moment, it's top of my "midweek" chart. Perhaps P.Y.T. could get there in a few weeks but it's not challenging right now.
- I loved 'Hands To Myself' but I think 'Bad Liar' is even better, it's a very good pop song.
- 'Hard Times' is doing much better in my chart than I'd expect from a Paramore song usually, it's quite good!

Not sure what to make of the Selena track, or even if I can take it that seriously

Liking the new Katy Perry song, she's got better with each release so far this year!

Won't Stop is easily my favourite of Watermat's songs I have heard, such a summery sounding tune, really wish it would become a hit in the UK but that seems very unlikely.

I use QuickTime player to record and iMovie to edit.

- All three songs are set up to be massive hits in my chart!
- No, I haven't.
- I think it's quite good, shame it doesn't look likely to be a big hit for her.
- I think 'Chained' is still her best of the era so far, but at least 'Swish' is an improvement from 'Bon Appetite'
- 'Save Me' should climb next week, not to #1 but maybe top 40.

01- it's just that good! I tend to have more long runners at #1 than most people on the site too, this is the fourth song to spend 10+ weeks at #1!
06- indeed proper banger and refuses to get old.

Holy crap, 10 weeks #1's? My longest running song at #1 was 10 days, and even then that was non-consecutive... xD Craziness I tell ya! Symphony is a good song to see get this kind of treatment though, although it didn't do so hot on my own charts...

I'm really happy to see Slide holding on strong! I think it's one of Calvin's best songs in his modern era

Well I don't do daily charts, so most of my #1s spend at least more than 10 days there. 'Symphony' is proper amazing though, should've spent 10 weeks at #1 in the UK tbh.
'Slide' is very good, not quite on the level of a lot of his earlier singles but I don't mind this new sound from him.
