adore ben howard, he's my 2nd favourite artist
but when I saw the pic, I took it like if he's recording, which means the album might not come out til the end of the year or something, who knows |

He’ll need to come back with something strong, else he’s going to go under the radar; what with George Ezra and James Bay, and newcomers like Tom Walker and Sam Fender getting radio (R1 specifically) support.

he's not Ed sheeran and thank God he'll never be, he's not one for the masses, doesn't need r1 or hit singles

I loved what I heard from Every Kingdom, so I might want to listen to this 3rd studio effort. I even own a CD of said debut album, which I bought from Scope last year.

The first two albums were very good, he's def not in the Ed Sheeran bracket for me, slightly more alternative!

Well I remember the leads from his last album being released and I thought "OMG he's lost it" and then the album turned out to be great and both taster tracks grew into big favourites. This one is even more "OMG he's lost it" than last time but I'm going to remember what happened and keep the faith.

it's a progression on the last album, same vein
he's clearly never gonna release another Every kingdom or even a traditional pop song like only love |

Oh I dunno, I think Small Things, Rivers In Your Mouth and In Dreams were all relatively traditional. I don't mind though, I prefer his second album to his debut on the whole so am intrigued to see what this one will be like.

Upon first listen as Dandy said it's like the last lead single not instant but I like it already, looking forward to adding it to my Apple Music list!

I mean, I've never been invested in Ben Howard (partly due to effort and probably immaturity) but "A Boat To An Island On The Wall" is a really strange song to lead an album campaign with. It does absolutely nothing for me as a single - though it might work in the context of an album.

I'm his biggest fan but not clicking with me either, too ambient and out there
but I think this is the sound he's heading to, it's like a natural progression from the last album at least I'm happy he's not going all ed sheeran trying to be the next big super seller super star |

I'm really enjoying "A Boat to an Island" at the moment. It sounds great in the sun. I can tell that this will be his most experimental album so far, he's giving me Bon Iver vibes with the two tracks so far. I'm not complaining though, he's definitely big enough now to be trying something different.
