Surprise bitch x we back *.* (on the exact same day we opened last year!)
(Banner won't be coming in the next few days!, unless someone shockingly wants to make one x) Hello there and welcome to the opening round of Buzzjack's movie awards 2020. Below are some categories where you are able to nominate up to 5 films in each category (unless specified in brackets, e.g. 10 for best film!), these will then be totalled up and sent through to the final round where you vote for your absolute favourites. Also significantly below, because of us following the UK calendar INSTEAD of the US one, we actually have quite a few big 'technically' 2019 films eligible this year! (thank f***) Any film released in the UK from January 1st 2020 to December 31st 2020 (a list of all the eligible films will be in the post below). Any film released in 2020 either in cinemas or on a streaming service in the UK is eligible. In terms of ineligibility in other categories, I don't think there's anything too important to notice but I'll let you know if you vote for anything ineligible + also if you think a film is eligible that I haven't included on the list below, please let me know! This is the fourth Buzzjack Oscars under the new rules (previously we went by American dates) so let the competition start *.* You have 2 months for submitting nominations this year followed by voting for the winners from the nominees list! (that should be enough) Also make sure to check out our throwback Oscars results that got published last year with no replies *.* . 2003 & 2004 will go up at some point (lemme not say a date cos I said this two years ago but I do wanna try get this going again! x) Also feel free to nominate even if you have seen as little as 1 or 2 films, every vote counts! The deadline for submitting nominations is the 20th March 23:59PM, but please try sending your nominations as soon as you can as this would make it a lot easier for us, also may bring the deadline forward but probably not! Please PM your nominations to me, thank you! In this thread, you can & we encourage you to make For Your Consideration (FYC) Posts!. FYC posts here are posts where you post films & performances & songs etc that'd you loved throughout the year to try & encourage other people to check them out/vote for it by posting what categories they'd stand out in! You can just post the film and categories you suggest it excels in or you can make it creative and use posters & pictures and that! If you want any new categories or any of the categories explained, ask me in this thread and I'll explain x Let's go *.* Categories: BEST FILM (up to 10 nominations) BEST MALE LEAD PERFORMANCE (up to 5 nominations) BEST FEMALE LEAD PERFORMANCE (up to 5 nominations) BEST MALE SUPPORTING PERFORMANCE (up to 5 nominations) BEST FEMALE SUPPORTING PERFORMANCE (up to 5 nominations) BEST DIRECTOR (up to 5 nominations) BEST MALE OR FEMALE NEWCOMER (up to 5 nominations) BEST ENSEMBLE (up to 5 nominations) MOST ATTRACTIVE ACTOR 2020 (up to 5 nominations) MOST ATTRACTIVE ACTRESS 2020 (up to 5 nominations) BEST ANIMATED FILM (up to 5 nominations) BEST VOICE PERFORMANCE: MALE (up to 5 nominations) BEST VOICE PERFORMANCE: FEMALE (up to 5 nominations) BEST ACTION FILM (up to 5 nominations) BEST COMEDY FILM (up to 5 nominations) BEST HORROR FILM (up to 5 nominations) BEST DRAMA FILM (up to 5 nominations) BEST SCI-FI/THRILLER FILM (up to 5 nominations) BEST SCORE (up to 5 nominations) BEST ORIGINAL SONG (up to 5 nominations) BEST SOUNDTRACK (up to 5 nominations) BEST CHARACTER (up to 5 nominations) BEST HERO (up to 5 nominations) BEST MOVIE CHEMISTRY (nominate actors not characters) (up to 5 nominations) BEST SCENE IN A MOVIE (up to 5 nominations) BEST SCRIPT (up to 5 nominations) BEST ADAPTATION OF A SOURCE MATERIAL (up to 5 nominations) BEST LOOK & STYLE (encompassing costume, make-up, hairstyling, production design, cinematography) (up to 5 nominations) BEST VISUAL EFFECTS (up to 5 nominations) BEST POSTER FOR A MOVIE RELEASED IN 2020 (up to 5 nominations) MOST UNDERRATED FILM (up to 5 nominations) MOST ANTICIPATED UPCOMING RELEASE (up to 5 nominations) BIGGEST BOX OFFICE SURPRISE (up to 3 nominations) BIGGEST BOX OFFICE DISASTER (up to 3 nominations) WORST FILM (5 nominations) WORST PERFORMANCE (5 noms) Members Nominated: |

Where did all The Farewell fans disappear to?!?! It came last in 7 out of 9 categories and the other two it was 2nd last on the actors side, messT at Florence Pugh coming (albeit joint) 2nd in both actress categories!! Scar-Jo is now 5 noms with no wins, will Jojo Rabbit change that this year? |

And nope again for both oops! Original songs only are allowed! |

I regretted not doing this last year
You should have received mine - I don’t think I’ve watched a bad film this year - although a few forgettable ones (Boys In The Band comes to mind) |
