Check out some of Ella's acoustic videos of Deeper and waiting all night. Cracking pair of lungs she has.
Made me a proper fan of her and she still hasn't had that breakthrough solo success. She better do ASAP. Waiting all night is definitely one of weaker Rudimental songs imo but super review there James |

The TWELFTH #1 of 2013 was...
Daft Punk & Pharrell Williams - Get Lucky 4 weeks #1 4 weeks at #1 this song lasted. Looking back I'm not surprised. it's a fantastic track. Also it's the first #1 for both Daft Punk and the first of three #1 songs Pharrell has had since then along with three different Million Sellers. I'm not sure, but I don't think any other act has that many million sellers and if they do, I don't think they had 3 in a row or all within a year. I dislike Pharrell and Love Daft Punk but it took me ages to jam to this song. It's just so tepid compared to Daft Punks usual Electronic affair. Last year when this came out I was totally hating it. It was everywhere. No escaping it! I refused to give it even one week on my personal chart and here we are a year later, me reviewing this and absolutely loving the song. This is one song I definitely regret not liking at the time, the one that got away so to speak and for anyone else who doesn't like it, you really should give it a few more spins! |

Get Lucky was a HUGE grower for me, at first I found it so bland but after a certain listen it just clicked.

The THIRTEENTH #1 of 2013 was...
Naughty Boy & Sam Smith - La La La 1 week #1 I took to this song straight away! It truly is amazing and one of the few #1's I like from Last year. I don't know what it is about #1's but I generally have a dislike for them. Hmm anyway, this song is great. Sam Smiths Debut track, although a feature Got him noticed and the fact he's still hitting the top 2 with his new track just shows he has what it takes to become a household name. The FOURTEENTH #1 of 2013 was...
Robin Thicke, T.I & Pharrell - Blurred Lines 5 non-consecutive weeks #1 A fantastic song to say the least And the fact it spent 4 weeks at #1 to be replaced and then bounced back to #1 for a fifth week just goes to show how good this song is. It's the second track to feature Pharrell from last year to reach a million sales. This guy is certainly on a role and somehow I can't see him reaching these dizzying heights again no matter how good his music will be this year! This track could have been doing without the feature from T.I though cause really, he adds nothing. |

La La La is fantastic, and will sound so good in summer again.
LOVED Blurred Lines initially but overplay killed it for me a bit. Still, some brilliant memories I have attached to that song like prom, so for nostalgic purposes it's great. |

The FIFTEENTH #1 of 2013 was...
Icona Pop & Charlie XCX - I Love It 1 week #1 I loved this when it came out but I now regard it as Icona Pops worst single so far. It's no secret how much I Love Icona Pop. Just look at the chart run for All Night on my personal chart!! after this, the far superior All Night came along and got brushed under the carpet and I was disappointed! Not the best #1 of last year but nowhere near the worst!! |

It took a while but then I Love It did grow on me, definitely one of the memorable songs of summer 2013. I heard the Glee version first though before the original, so it took me quite a bit of time to adapt to the original version.

The SIXTEENTH #1 of 2013 was...
John Newman - Love Me Again 1 week #1 Ugh how I detest this! Easily his best track but that's not hard when it the only track he's released that's even done anything to the charts (even if it is still shite ) This should have been his stepping stone into super relevancy but nope. He's invisible now. Yup. Invisible. |

The SEVENTEENTH #1 of 2013 was...
Avicii - Wake Me Up 3 weeks #1 Avicii. You would think with me being an Avicii fan that I would have nothing bad to say about this but this was without a doubt the most overplayed track last year! Yeah its good but seriously it's not so good that you needed to here it literally about 50 times a day!! I do love a bit of Avicii though and this was the start of an amazing year for him! |
