Chart Analysis

Gareth Emery takes on Just Us again for the number one spot and in a close race he manages to score a fifth week at number one with 'Saving Light'. 'Cloudbusting' spends its fourth non-consecutive week at number two and Jax Jones remains at number three with 'You Don't Know Me', which itself spent four weeks at number two. Indeed, getting a number two hit seems to be nearly as difficult as getting a number one on the Hot 100 as it is these two that have taken the number two spot for eight of the last nine weeks.

The other number two hit, 'Something Just Like This' by The Chainsmokers and Coldplay falls out of the top five this week to #7, perhaps as a result of it losing its early hype from their BRITs performance and their collective name power. It however in spending a third week top ten outdoes their previous hit 'Paris', which spent just two weeks inside the top ten.

Following four non-consecutive weeks at number five, Oliver Moldan and Jasmine Ash finally gain a new peak with 'High & Low'. It climbs one place to number four this week. Martin Jensen also climbs a place behind it, up to number five with 'Solo Dance'. It is the week's only top five entry.

Likewise there is only one new entry in the top ten this week, which comes from tropical house act State of Sound with 'Wake Up Where You Are'. On its seventh week in the Hot 100 it climbs to this week's number six. Completing the top ten are non-movers from Katy Perry, Kygo and Zara Larsson. 'I Would Like' has now spent thirteen weeks in the top ten, and with the release of her new album today it could very well climb next week to stay there even longer. The victim of the top ten this week are former number one artists Aly & Fila and co. They fall five places to this week's number twelve.

The biggest climber in the Hot 100 this week comes from British house act Icarus with 'King Kong'. After a low debut last week at #97 it shoots into this week's top twenty, up to #18. Icarus is also partly responsible for 'Close To You' by ARLE, which itself gains a new peak; up five places to #22 this week.

Stormzy gets his second top twenty hit with 'Big For Your Boots', climbing ten places to #15. Calvin Harris' new single 'Slide' took a while to get going but has now inevitably become yet another top twenty hit for him. It slides up to #16 this week. Also entering the top twenty are the Deeptrak assisted B-15 Project with 'Girls Like Us' which climbs to #19, as well as 'Fade' by Watermät which coincidentally is up to #17 on its 17th week in the chart.

offaiah's follow-up to massive number one hit 'Trouble' has had a slow start, missing last week's top 40. It of course climbs this week however and enters the top 40 at #23. Also climbing into the top 40 are Ralph Felix and SDJM with their Whitney interpretation 'The Heat' at #32, as well as Polish producer Gromee with Eastern-European inspired house hit 'Spirit' at #33 and British house act Jaded with 'In The Morning' - straight in the Hot 100 this week at #37.

Other new entries in the Hot 100 this week come from a range of various BJSC artists, as well as 'No Frauds' - the new song from Nicki Minaj with her good friends Drake and Weezy, a new entry at #67.
