From ESC Xtra:

QUOTE
Armin van Buuren, one of the most famous DJs and trance/dance music producers in the world, has said he’d be willing to help Dutch broadcaster AvroTros with selecting an entry for the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest. The 36 year old has already informed both AVRO and TROS of his availability.

Van Buuren is one of the most popular DJs in the world. He was named ‘Best DJ in the world’ by DJ Magazine five times: four consecutive years in 2007-2010 and then again in 2012. His latest album, Intense, was released last month. It charted in five countries (The Netherlands, Belgium, United Kingdom, United States and Germany), reaching its peak at #2 in The Netherlands. His latest single, This Is What It Feels Like (ft. Trevor Guthrie), charted in fifteen countries.

Van Buuren has also said that when he’s going to help the Dutch broadcaster, it’s unlikely that there will be a national final. He added that when he’d compose a song for Eurovision, he would also select the singer for the song. He concluded his statement by saying that he had indeed informed both Dutch broadcasters about his plans.

Van Buuren was approached to think about Eurovision by one of The Netherlands’ most important Eurovision experts, Cornald Maas.

That would be amazing!!! wub.gif

If there were odds, Netherlands would already be rather high there. A country can only DNQ so many times... biggrin.gif

TROS will reveal their artist for the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest on Monday 25 November. The announcement will be made at the Wisseloord studios in Hilversum.

After various national final and song selection formats, the Netherlands finally made a Eurovision final with Anouk this year – their first qualification since 2004.

Given the success of this year’s result TROS, which becomes AVROTROS on 1 January 2014, are repeating the selection method for next year’s competition.

The BIB isn't right as it is yet to be confirmed

Right at this moment Ilse DeLange is rumoured to be doing it. For the ones not familiar with her previous work here's her best

Personally I'd prefer Sharon Doorson to do it, but it's all about what kinda song Ilse produces. I wasn't happy with Anouk either till Birds came around

Ilse Delange and Waylon will be performing together under the name Common Linnets. They will be performing a country song ('No No Never' flashbacks, anyone?')

Blah and blah nocheer.gif

It'll be performed live on "De Wereld Draait Door", which will start in 15 minutes on Nederland 1, it'll be premiered on radio tomorrow with a release on Itunes too I guess.

I'm pretty excited to see what they've come up with, tho I hope it's not country but more pop like both artists have done before (I really recommend Incredible, Puzzle Me and Miracle from Ilse)

I really like the song - it's a little bit too country for my taste but defiantly one of the best songs of this year up to now imo. I can't speak dutch but the guy seems to have a bit of an ego! But he's very hot haha
