New thread as the old one is at 50 pages! Fab timing with Christmas happening *.*
Omg why am I always last post on the EE threads
Aidan and his "gang" are making me cringe, ngl
Charlie's return took me by surprise but it's definitely needed for the wool to be torn off Jack's eyes! Looking forward to tomorrow.
Jack is still unbearable
I love Donna but f*** me her and Robbie's scenes....
WHY hasn't John Yorke axed Dean Gaffney?
Exciting! It looks like this is going to be the best Christmas Day episode in years!
http://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/eastenders/news/a845593/danny-dyer-promises-huge-turnaround-eastenders/
Danny Dyer: "EastEnders has been pony for a few months"
I doubt the BBC will be too happy with him for that comment!
He hasn’t helped though tbh.
I would think everyone at the BBC knows that what Danny is said is true. However, they may not be happy he said it publicly.
Not liking this Irish guy. Meh
When Tina realises she doesn’t have a purpose.......and you realise it took her nearly four years to notice *.*
tbf I liked Tina during the Sylvie storyline but other than that she's been pretty useless
I nearly turned off after months of her not bringing Sylvie up... Like yes she light Christmas lights, so do most people. I thought we were past the 'you made toast, mum liked toast' or 'you had a shower, mum loved the shower' comments
Exit confirmed for Johnny
About bloody time Awful awful "actor".
Knew it would be him from your reactions before even looking at the 'spoiler'
FINALLY.
What was the point? I mean really? The biggest waste of a recast in soap history tbh
Weeping
OMG YES!!!!!!
OMG YES!!!!!!
Thank f*** for that
Robbie next
At least Nancy agrees that the vow renewal is a boring piece of shite.
The Sun is saying Kat is returning. Apparently we are getting a press release today so hopefully that'll confirm it and give us some ideas of what to expect in 2018.
Omg YES no mention of Alfie makes me hopeful as well!!!!
HATE ALFIE!!
Of course the general public love him as a 'cheekie chappie' when that personality trope is the actual pits
Returns now officially confirmed for Kat, Jean and Big Mo
THE HOLY f***ING TRINITY OMG
OMFG!!!!! Christmas has come early!!!!
OMFG YAS
Where's Belinda tho
Belinda to be working for a secret drug lord or something pls
Belinda to be Aidan's wife
Belinda to be the real owner of The Vic
This news pleases me. Are they all regular? It would be a shame to Split Ollie and Jean up.
^ I was just thinking what about Ollie? Maybe he will be there too but he's just not worth mentioning for the media coverage
Kat being away from her kids seems odd though, maybe it is for a short period and then they'll come into it? Would mean that Alfie survived in the end because who else would the kids be with?
Lmao did Alfie die?!
Hope Belinda returns as Janine's co sabateur
Can the kids be with Belinda and she can bring them back? Or Little Mo....
Lmao at Shane Ritchie being the one who kept pleading to return and Jessie Wallace not being fussed, yet Kat is back and Alfie, as of yet, is not!
Omg YES!!! Exactly what the show needs, I know John Yorke loves the Slaters so I'm praying for Belinda too
Those scenes with Ian and Max...I was crying with laughter! It was so unintentionally funny :')
https://www.thesun.co.uk/tvandshowbiz/5193194/alfie-moon-set-for-sensational-eastenders-return-after-its-revealed-kat-slater-and-big-mo-are-also-coming-back/
Looks like Alfie is coming back Just not at the same time as the others.
Ughhh
And yeah, I'm really starting to think Max is gonna die. The shit he's done...ain't nobody gonna forgive that It'd be way too unrealistic.
I guess the lack of Alfie was too good to be true, not really shocked to see that he'll be following eventually!
Great news re. Kat, Big Mo and Jean though, can't wait for them all to be back
I liked the Ian and Max scenes until we got to this last one:
Hysterical!
-x-
In other news, it's been revealed John Yorke is staying in charge for a year. Lots of spoilers available on Digital Spy now, including John Yorke's plans for 2018: http://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/eastenders/news/a845990/eastenders-spoilers-john-yorke-huge-new-storylines/

Oh ffs
Kate Oates must have taken over from John Yorke
Mel is returning alongside her son Hunter, introducing Charlie Winter -
HELLO THERE.
http://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/eastenders/news/a845990/eastenders-spoilers-john-yorke-huge-new-storylines/
"There's a grave robbery, a heist, and a final comeuppance for Willmott-Brown – all the ingredients for a classic EastEnders Christmas and New Year."
Well I suppose that's better than community centers and bins!
Omg he is the double of my old uni flatmate facially.
Good to see they're cementing Mel a bit rather than her just coming back for business or something.
I can believe Hunter being the son of Mel and Steve, but he looks older than 15.
He looks a bit older than the 15/16 year old he’ll be playing.
More news -

Yorke's confirmed there'll be a death over Christmas
http://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/eastenders/news/a845997/eastenders-spoilers-jacqueline-jossa-lauren-branning-exit/
Jac Jossa said her exit is "big" so I doubt it's just her and Josh leaving in the back of a taxi.
Lorna's also confirmed there's a lot of twists coming up over Christmas too.
I know people think the show has made a dramatic improvement in quality but yesterday's episode has to be one of the WORST I've ever seen the acting was lacklustre and the script was dire. Not sure which of the three story arcs going on was the least pathetic.. probably secret Santa? :')
Is Max even doing a lot of evil??
All I'v seen is him copying a South Park Kenny's House story and cheating on women like he has alwaays done somehow.
Urgh, Alfie. Why does Kat always have to bring that baggage??
Awwwfuuul.
SCREAMING at that duff duff for all the wrong reasons!!!!!
Yeah, I agree with Haus here. The Max stuff I’m sure will be great over Christmas but that was cringe and pathetic. As for the Carters, nobody f***ing cares, seriously.
I didn’t mind secret Santa. I know Dean Gaffney isn’t the greatest actor but I often think he gets too much flack. It’s not like Robbie will ever be a leading character or need to provide a dramatic storyline so I think he’s alright for what he is. We need characters like that and they’ve been missing of late. It’s one reason I’m glad they’re bringing Mo back, she needn’t have left. Also Donna is one of my faves so more screentime for her is much appreciated.
Next episode of EE is on Sunday, 8pm
Surprised to see Carmel bounce back so quickly. Is Dot not around for Christmas then?
I finally saw THAT duff duff
OmG
Only thing I have missed is Mr Peanut Butter wacking Max
Karen getting to be the Angel *.*
Tonight's ending was so f***ing cringe.
Oh Stacey,I wud think Martin finding out will lead to the return of the slaters.
Legit no idea what will happen tonight but QWEEN ABI had better not die.
Jeez... that was tense and I was shouting at the screen, no get off the edge
Without a doubt, one of the best episodes in ages. Totally classic Eastenders. Twists and turns throughout and a brilliant script which captured the magic that made the drama so real 10 years ago. The reference to Bradley off the roof, to Max going straight for the roof himself was genius. I AM SHOOK this is the show I love and watch every day.
Incredible episode and genuine shock at that ending. Cannot wait for tomorrow!
YAS TANYA *.*
What got me with all the commotion happening with the Brannings, nobody butted an eyelid in the pub itself, mind you with all the music and shouting I guess you wouldn't hear a thing.
O M G!! I used to be such a regular EE viewer from about 2007 - 2015, then I drifted away from watching it and even the Christmas episode last year couldn't keep me on board (I watch it with my family at Christmas each year anyway). But... that truly felt like classic Eastenders of the past! I love the parallel to Bradley's death on the roof and the Max/Stacey/Tanya trio sharing scenes again as it reminds me of the show I used to love. Absolutely shook by that ending such gripping TV, think I'm going to have to stick with it again.
Don't know what to make of the ending. Very predictable and too meta for my liking, plus I don't think it's necessary to kill off either sister. I'll wait for Boxing Day...
The rest of the episode was very gripping though. Was fab to see Tanya back and Jo, Jake and Lacey all brought their A-game.
Yeah the ending was the only hmm for me, the actual episode was so gripping pretty much all the way through (well apart from the bloody Carters) as Max unraveled. Tanya's unannounced return *.* It's quite heartbreaking to have that parallel with Bradley's death but I think it's just that they killed off Ronnie and Roxy last year and it's a bit ridic to kill off two sisters again. But anyway, best episode in ages overall, everyone involved acted that flawlessly and that was an amazing Christmas episode.
I don't think they'd kill off Abi while pregnant though that's a bit TOO grim surely although she'll at least lose the baby which is hardly happy times.
I did also wonder why nobody heard the gunshot especially
Crap episode - WHY DOES NO ONE HAVE PASSWORDS ON THEIR PHONES, OR REALISE WEN SOMEONE IS DELETING THINGS OR SNIFFING ROUND IT? ANYONE AF
ESPECIALLY HER KISSING THAT AND HIM SAYING IRRESISTIBLE?? YOU LOOK LIKE THE MANKY BAKED BEAN IN A ROTTING TIM MATE
It's a nice feeling that there's a buzz about the show though. Twitter are loving it! Omg at this: https://twitter.com/saquibgrm/status/945419121554087936
LIVING for these reactions!
https://twitter.com/Korrey_S/status/945419051471376384
In the words of Kylie, wow wow wow that was a brilliant episode, seeing Tanya was a great surprise and totally unexpected.
So they did the sisters TWO YEARS RUNNING??
VILE.
One year, R&R died at NYD.
That was a really good episode of EastEnders, the ending had me open mouthed in shock! I have the feeling that somehow they're not both going to die, I'm thinking that Lauren will die and Abi will somehow survive but then how will she end up leaving EastEnders? I also think that Max's days in Albert Square must be numbered now after his secrets have come out and everyone has turned their back on him.
Wow, I cannot remember the last episode as good a song that one. I had a hunch Tanya would return and it’s right that she has done. Such a tense episode. I think it’s been confirmed that there will be one death only so one of the sisters has survived.
I’d rather Abi survived for lots of obvious reasons. I cannot see the baby surviving at all but I also think Lauren is more of a spent character. Killing both would be a bad move especially with the Ronnie and Roxy parallel and also with it meaning 3 of Max’s 4 kids would have died in exactly the same way.
Knowing my luck, Abi’s Dead
The wotsit has signed a year long contract
Oooooh!!! What a fab episode!!
MY HEART WAS IN MY MOUTH OMG
From bins and cooking pasta to THAT. I am SHOOK.
Perched for tonight's ep.
Tbh I have pushed back my night out just so I could watch tonight's episode live.
Ugh that went by FAR TOO QUICKLY! I think they are making us think that Lauren is dead but they are going to say that Abi has severe brain damage or something? The death will probably be Friday
The aftermath was pretty good, good acting all round, but I did find the ending was pretty predictable, I did feel the whole episode was a bit rushed. And it had to be Keegan that took the mobile coverage of them falling.
OMG THEY CANT DO THIS TO MEEEEE!
Seriously, reckon Abi’s a goner Lauren will end up ok as ever but Abi will have no brain function. They’ll induce labour and then turn off her life support, you mark my words.
Ya its looking like its Abi purely because they made it look like Lauren.
Im all for Abi surviving though. While it may not work, it would be interesting if they keep Abi alive by life support if the baby can survive and let the baby be born and then she passes away. Has this been done in a soap??
Its great having Tanya back, its a shame its only for a short visit. I think we have a few more surprises to come over the next week as the Wilmot Brown storyline conclusion looks like it has great potential. No matter which one dies, i hope Tanya is around for the funeral.
I read online Jo has had to film most of her scenes at 2am as its the only time she has free due to other commitments, fair play to her as she could have turned it down when asked back.
Its sooooo sooo good to feel excited about the show again. Having the show return to form is exciting as we had a painful journey to get this far. If John Yorke can turn the show around in a few short weeks i really do believe EastEnders will flying high this time next year as their is alot ahead with exits and comebacks.
Lets hope the show can win back some viewers and get a few awards to really boost moral among the cast and crew.
The Christmas day ratings were good so i hope they can retain some of the extra viewers which were the over nights, 6.3 million tuning in without iplayer, recording etc is good, it probably was over 7 million in total.
Some thought the pacing was a bit slow last night but I thought it was great. Loved the Martin/Stacey scenes, particularly the one of Martin crying on the stairs and Stacey in the bath listening. Fantastically shot and acted out. I was hooked on Tanya's reactions; a shame we didn't see more of her but I guess that's due to Jo's schedule.
Sharon comparing Tina sleeping with men despite identifying as a lesbian to vegetarians who ate bacon had me howling.
Tuesdays episode was slightly disappointing but still very good. The Christmas Day episode was always going to be hard to follow. I also liked the Martin and Stacey scenes, they were shot brilliantly and sometimes words are not needed to express the emotions as this clearly showed us.
It was a good cliffhanger and once again leaves us dying for the next episode, we have had a few episodes like that now which is just brill. As for most of this year i was almost left dreading watching the next episode as it had got so boring. I wonder how many more episodes we have of Tanya, for me the more the better.
Is anyone else still left thinking Jane will be back, i keep thinking she will as i find it hard to believe that was her exit storyline. As it stands now her exit doesnt add up but maybe its the best they could do in the short time frame.
Kathy yass
I don't know what to make out of that episode it felt a bit flat after Tuesdays episode, at least we know Lauren is alright after that fall And Abby could still be in danger of passing away, I suppose.
Loved the bit where Kathy grabbed Wilmott Brown's balls, I just think the producers they were talking about a death is actually Wimott Brown, at least that storyline is coming to a head next week
And Hannah looks great as Karen's sister
They've done a Ronnie & Roxy with this aftermath. The pacing is so off! The actual Christmas episode was amazing, shocking and had a perfectly timed climax (aside from the odd non reaction from Tanya at having just watched her two daughters fall off a roof). Then Boxing Day was really slow but had a decent cliffhanger. Then today, it's like the Branning storyline has become an afterthought? Tanya disappeared, the random time jump from the cliffhanger, half the square didn't care about Lauren and Abi's fate. It's all very Ronnie & Roxy without them having actually died!
Aside from that, I hope the fact that Lauren has now woken up doesn't mean Abi is a goner :/
It seems like it's that Willmott-Brown dude who is going to die! That seems odd as there are pictures of the residents of Albert Square attending a funeral and Max is one of the attendants. Why would anyone go to that guy's funeral?
Abi is brain dead.
Could the twist be that someone other than Lauren or Abi dies? Poor Abi, not out of the woods yet.
So pleased that after 3 years of spouting shit because DTC couldn’t explain her ‘death’ properly, Kathy finally gets her MOMENT *.*
Surely it'll be Wilmott Brown? I can't see any outcome to his storyline other than he dies, Fi gets everything and just gives the pub back to the Carters
And I feel like maybe Abi might "only" be like really brain damaged or something so Tanya has to look after her and maybe Lauren goes as well or decides to go with Josh after all or something.
Abi nooooo
YAS Fi! But no for Abi
I stan Fi she'd be such a good Vic landlady ffs
Abi famous for her "battered" moment
"Your mother wouldn't know a good decision if it hit her in the face and sorted out her bra straps"
Nooooo, Abi! This feels like such a mistake, I can’t even. And so pissed off we have to wait another day for her to die, talk about dragging it out.
Once again, we get a scene of Linda ranting at Fi and I’m totes on Fi’s side. If that’s the end of Fi, it was a bloody good ending.
NO @ ABI
Omg I can’t cope
http://imgur.com/ahmYi09
Lol bye bitch
"Abi should've died when she got her head stuck in the railings" - Craig 2017
ffs
Abi>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>all non brain dead characters tho.
Lauren managing to pull Abi to her death tho *_*
Lorna Fitzgerald lying brain dead is a better performance than Ted Reilly doing anything tbh
Guess she was finally ready for her MOT
Ted Reilly only has to stand there for me to be interested tbh x
Not surprised that it's Abi who's dying, I feel like they've never truly known what to do with her for a while now and although Lauren has become exceptionally boring recently, there's probably more scope for her to return in the future.
Whilst I've not been a fan of Fi (or any of that clan), if that's her exit then it was a pretty great ending and I'm glad she finally stood up to Wilmott-Brown!
Abi
Lauren constantly RUINING Abi's life is amazing. She literally caused her death after years of screwing her over
This is ridiculous.
Why are the writers so scared of killing off MAIN male characters and why do the gush iver men so much??
'Oh Max, you look gross but you are IRRESISTIBLE', 'Oh Jack you are INVINCIBLE, just like Phil' 'Oh Mick, you are right, Linda is wrong AGAIN'
And of course. Lauren had an abortion with Steven's babby, and ao must be punished for it and be given Abi's baby to Steven instead. Catholic Soap League at it again.
Finally slaggy Abi has gone.
Best moment of the year in EastEnders for me was Kathy twisting Willott-Brown's bollocks finally she got revenge.
Worst moment of me this Christmas was Max and his walking willy syndrome striking with Stacey yet again.
Just so unrealistic and UNBELIEVABLE, especially after she just had a baby and will be too tired with three kids to even THINK about sleeping around, and especially with a baked bean. The writers love men. They refuse to kill them off. Max should have died. It made ZERO SENSE AGAIN for ABI and Lauren to clamber up after their brother um DIED that way and after they found out Max killed Steven!!!
SEXIST writers turning it into a mind-control sci-fi instead of drama to protect their shitty main male.
Then why do storylines favour males, with women, Lauren next, punished for abortions or wanting to be rich like Phil, and with NO - ZERO- major male killed off? Even DEAN DID NOT DIE AFTER BEING DROWNED
And their characterisation of FOUR women was downright BIZARRE and sci-fi - Lauren and ABI climbing up, Tanya standing there, not even pointing, even after they fell off, and a new mum with three kids missing her child's nativity and not turning up as Angel, to the utter SCORN of all the other playground mums, which would be a fookin HUUUUGE deal for any parent, and somehow having energy/ will to sleep with a very unattractive man. When they cannot even get female characters or motivation right just to protect one male...
The last character that was killed off was male though....
Lots of huge male characters have been killed off: Mark Fowler, Arthur Fowler, Pete Beale, Dennis Rickman, Roy Evans, Barry Evans, Bradley Branning, etc
Steven Beale, Paul Coker and Fatboy were killed off within the last two years. There have been more female deaths in the past 2 years but actually not many more.
You cannot compare Lucy, a legend in the making, to Jim or Charlie!! Abi was a huge, iconic character, far more relevant than Fat Boy and with bigger storylines.
Sorry, but when they have to really force awful female characterisation and plot to move the plot in favour of a male, there is a problem.
Exactly. Lucy was ‘in the making’. Not a legend. Abi has a following her but to the average viewer, I doubt many of them care for her.
Seriously, if you have such an issue, perhaps you should stop watching.
How can you not see a problem? Rewatch Christmas Eve and Christmas and the awful female characterisation, development, to push a male character agenda and to save him. Even him getting her phone and deleting the message showed favouritism, as did him walking free after Ian told them he tried to murder him!!
I wonder if there is a problem with producers/ writers fancying the unattractivrpe Max Beanning and so favour keeping him in the show at the expense of the female characters and realism. When he said, I'm irresistible, he was just putting into words the producer's feelings for him. It is the only explanation - either that or a wave of sexism falling over the soap.
No, but if there is a toxic environment where male characters are preferred and some at the top find Max irresistible, as unlikely as that might be, then outcomes favouring male characters will just naturally arise. They honestly believed earlier this year that Jack had a claim over Charlie's son - Charie's!! They then bring him back to appease Jack for NO REASON. Max has signed a new contract. They love him. He will somehow come back from all this. It is ridiculous. Utterly ridiculous. Their female characterisation is woeful, as we saw over Christmas. TANYA STOOD THERE GAPING. STACEY A NEW MUM JUMPED INTO BED WITH HIM INSTEAD OF GOING TO HER SCHOOL NATIVITY PLAY IN WHICH SHE HAD A PART AND SO DID HER CHILD! STACEY LET MAX HAVE HER PHONE AND FOUND IT SEXY.
Plenty of males die in it From half your posts you don't even watch the show properly yet have a hell of a lot to say about it.
No major male.
When they destroy the characterisation of four women to SUCH A HUGE extent to protect one male, there is a problem. Combin that with the other stuff and fawning over male characters like Mick Carter and Jack, and it becomes obvious.
Nick Cotton was the first character to speak n the show, son of one of the biggest soap characters of all time, one of the big villains. He died 3 years ago. Next. Charlie and Jim for the impact on families and amount they were there also I'd say are quite major...
Charlie and Jim were unavoidabl3.
Nick Cotton died as they had nowhere to take his character. He was hardly ever in it anyway.
What is your excuse for the very bad and unrealistic events and female characterisation on Christmas then? Or the writers thinking Jack had a claim ovrr someone else's kid? My god Max is ruining this show. All of these events were somehow tied to his awful story.
Mixed feelings about the last 3 episodes, they in parts seemed very rushed or messy. The complete lack of Lauren time, Tanya vanishing, the the wilmot brown conclusion had very little impact considering how much of a role the storyline has taken up in the last few months. Hopefully the new years day episode will up the anty again.
Disappointed its Abi thats been killed off, but at least the baby has survived.
I thought Abi and Lauren were leaving ‘before the end of the year’ but it looks like they’ll be there on Monday at least. Unless they’ve shut off Abi’s ventilator off screen but would they do that without Tanya or Lauren? Also, It’s been on that both Tanya and Lauren have been almost completely absent in recent episodes.
I enjoyed the New Years stuff in the Vic but it is extremely odd that no one there seems to care about the Branning sisters. Whitney hasn’t batted an eyelid over Lauren’s fall. Ben, Jay and Donna aren’t that bothered their housemate will die, Sharon loved with Abi, all the Carters worked with her but no one appears that arsed, bless her.
Yeah, the whole nobody seeming to give a crap about Abi and Lauren thing is VERY bizarre. Abi's basically dead while her friends/flat mates are out getting pissed in the Vic? Okay then? It's kinda messing with the emotional impact of it all.
As for Tanya's disappearance...
Me storming to BBC HQ demanding to know where the f*** she's gone.
A big thumbs up to Martin and Stacey's scenes tho - especially in last nights episodes. Brilliant writing and James + Lacey have both been incredible.
Yes, its like its completly forgotten whats happened to them, their friends are all out without a care in the world. As i said myself earlier everything just seems rushed and they have lost the emotion in everything.
Karen might be the new face of the re-opening of the laundrette. SOS
I seen that, i like the idea and the person to go with it would suit.
So 2017 Eastenders is all done, it was hardly a vintage year, but what were your personal highlights?
For me:
Obviously with such a drought of actual drama, I had to go with things that made me cackle.
It's all about this, Queen Stacey
I think my two highlights was the Sonia/Sharon fight scene and the Christmas day episode
Also even when Stacey us being an absolute twat of the highest order i f***ing stan. What a legend
Omg! When was that Sonia moment???
I’d almost forgotten these classics:
http://imgur.com/HvIRAPp
http://imgur.com/SEMIzym
Sharon is literally the gayest woman ever
Omg that Stormzy scene will go down as one of the most cringe/embarrassing scenes in soap history
Forgot everyone’s fave storyline-Denise’s GCSE!
Denise's pasta duff duff is iconic tbf.
Been trying to find that clip (but can't) of Sonia collecting a package for Gethin where she was shaking it to see what was inside. So iconic.
Don't forget when Dot's house got egged at Halloween
The Daily Mail is useless
Because Little Mo replied to some fans, they now think she is comin back, claiming there COULD be an 'explosive return' all thanks to her replying to tweets
They are also confused about 'PREGNANT ABI' being seen at her own funeral, and even more confused she was seen ALIVE with her on-screen family in a photo Bradley looks OLD, as old and bad as Max
Well what the f*** have I just watched :')
Who was that guy at the end that Mick recognised?!
Anyway, bit of a meh impression on Masood's family AND that was a bit of shit/sweep it under the carpet reveal for Jay's storyline. I hope they don't ignore following it up!
However, I loved seeing Micky from Shameless!
That was like a Children In Need sketch parody of a heist film Good god.
Was great to see the R&R again (I hope they bring it back properly) and seeing Jack and Max bond over their grief. I actually liked that they quickly wrapped up the Jay storyline - I have no interest in seeing it developed further than what it was but it certainly needed addressing. The heist scenes were on the silly side but I didn't mind it as much as I expected. They're not expecting us to take it seriously and think that those those involved are really up to the job and I quite liked seeing everyone's doubts.
Not interested by the Masoods unfortunately. The two newbies just seemed to mumble their way through their lines and Masood was back to his usually gurning.
I found that heist a bit silly, it really felt like I was watching children's' TV. The new extension of Masood's family seem a bit pointless, I really don't know what they are going to add.
That heist was actually embarrassing to watch. jesus christ :/
Oh and YAWN @ the Masood's new family.
An incredible xmas day episode and its all kinda gone down hill from there for me really :/
That was beyond tedious, I was so pleased when Mick got shot.
Jack and Max was the only scene I even liked a little bit tbh and I usually can’t stand Jack in any scene.
Was pleased the Jay stuff was sorted out, thank f*** for that. Would have been nice for him to ask after Abi though. Now if Max could just reveal he paid Denise and Kim’s mum to tell them they weren’t really sisters, Ill be happy. Don’t even care if it doesn’t make sense.
Do they really expect us to think they've killed their beloved Mick off? Ridiculous
Tonight's episode was like a comedy version of Grand Theft Auto
https://twitter.com/bbceastenders/status/947936116715524096
I cringed
That was AWFUL omg
Oh dear, that was just awful. It looks like all the work went into Christmas day and the Max reveal as its been downhill since and rapidly down in that episode.
Well, it looks while we are a while away yet until the show is back on track.
Everything is just all over the place, im hoping John Yorke is wraping up everything before he starts unveiling his own fresh storylines.
Also is that all we get from the Jay storyline, poor Jay his storylines are always screwed over, the been with an under age girl never got a proper conclusion and now this mess of a storyline about this father.
While i know some people are Maswood fans, i dont see the point in bringing him back at all, i could be wrong but wasn't the woman who plays his aunt in the show before, i think she was either a mother or aunt of a previous Asian family back in the day, geeta and sanjay were the couple i think.
They bothered just to get thd Carters magic money. Again.
Hopefully they get their money and we move on from the no money in debt storylines which we have had far too much of.
Denise's pasta duff duff :')
Back to this week, it's been such a mess since Christmas Day. The pacing is so off, it's strange! Last night's episode too :') And what on earth is happening with Abi and Lauren?! I thought they were supposed to have left by now
Abi and Lauren are almost forgotten about I don't get why they have done it this way,it's so messy and has lost every ounce of emotion.
EastEnders is comical at the moment , a man gets shot and is treated using a bottle of whiskey by nurse Shirley and a random newcomer and now they are having banter with the person who pulled the trigger
Seriously, every single writer on it needs sacking.
Every last one.
And who is that blonde Irish woman supposed to be? I'm struggling to make sense of this robbery plot to be honest.
After seeing last night's episode, the aftermath was a lot better, in a way, I kind of like the new Masood extension after a rocky start, they seem to be okay.
I think that woman and Aiden have got connections with Steve Owen, which will draw Mel back into the series in some way, she can't be that far now from being re-introduced back into EE.
The new plonka behind the bar that shot Mick will make a great addition instead of Johnny, sort of grew on me like a rash
Tonight's first half was just bizarre. I mean, last night was too but I enjoyed it all and it didn't take itself seriously, but tonight was really difficult to follow. It did have its positives though. I am warming to Mariam and there's something quite intriguing and refreshing about her character. I'm liking Ciara Maguire so far too.
The second half was easier to follow and it was good to see some more airtime for Lauren and Abi.
Looks like I was right about Mel Owen connection re Tamzin Outhwaite
http://www.radiotimes.com/news/2018-01-02/eastenders-newcomer-who-is-ciara-maguire-and-does-she-know-mel-owen/
They're really dragging Abi and Lauren's departure , I would have thought that they would have both left before New Year's Day.
I really want to know if Tanya was back for just those 2 episodes? It's so bloody awkward seeing scenes with Max with Abi and Tanya not being there at all
Today was better, I feel we're building up to Max / Lauren switching off the machine in tomorrow or Thursday's episode now. The robbery plot aftermath was a lot better than the awful robbery itself - it looks almost certain Mel will be connected somehow. I half expected her to step out of the car before it was shown to be Ciara (?).
I quite like Masood's new relatives, I keep howling at people slipping up about Masood's 'wild side' to them
OMG I almost forgot - I was absolutely LIVING for sassy Tracey tonight!
Sort of don’t even know what the f*** that was. Definitely not a planned hour episode as the first half was complete shite. I am not inter weed in the Carter crap. Masood’s new family seem quite good though. Let’s hope this Ciara can keep things interesting.
Lovely of Sonia to finally remember her dying cousin. They really are dragging out Abi’s death though, it’s like they’re toying it’s me emotionally.
What an awful episode again...
Not as bad as Mondays episode but still pretty boring and all over the place.
oh I've been loving it lately been a nice change from dull and nothing happening.
Its been comical but thats half of the point it was all meant to go wrong and it was funny, if Corrie had done it it would of been classed as a classic but as its Eastenders which is only supposed to do dark and dismal its not allowed but either way I liked it and found it easy to follow (some on twitter obviously cant follow the alphabet judging by some comments)
Halfway if sticking about is obviously going to be Whitneys next love interest but his line to Shirley of 'Nice jugs' was brilliant light relief and I'm liking the fresh risky way Eastenders has been lately and I am totally loving Masood's aunt Mariam although her and her husband seem too nice and good so wont be long before some dark secret comes out.
Ciara I like, comes across as dont mess with me kinda gal, makes a nice change to have some hard face no nonsense female who seems to be quite a threat.
I did wonder why an hour last night, it was obviously two halves joined as one, it is also on tonight and tomorrow as football is on Friday
No, I can’t be having Halfway as Whitney’s new love interest. He’s pretty much Lee 3.0 and I can’t have more episodes moaning about how he doesn’t deserve her, can’t give her what she needs etc.
If Whitney wants to highlife, she needs to look further than behind the bar she works in.
I quite enjoyed having Halfway, makes a great replacement for Johnny when he leaves and a bit of light relief, I still can't get over that bit "nice jugs" at Shirley
Eastenders on tonight 8pm
It was Mick saying "You call that head? This your first time or something?" that had me cackling!
f***ing STANNING Mariam omg
Ha Ha the money is 6 foot under in a different coffin its like one of those old black and white robbery movies when it all goes tits up...
And Billy to Phil "keep your hair on" what hair
Found myself skipping through this tonight, a bit boring I just want us to be hit with an amazing storyline
Nice to see people starting to react to Abi’s situation.
But Jesus, it’s 2018, why is Mick still allowed to talk to his wife like she’s some second class citizen?
This heist storyline is embarrassingly bad, on an opposite scale to the bins and Denise's pasta duff duff in that it's way too OTT rather than too muted and dull but still awful. It was so good around Christmas and now has just basically totally nosedived again, but I am loving Mariam so far *.*
I don't know what to make out of that one, hilarious though, neither Aidan made a switch and he is having the last laugh or Mel Owen has something to do with it which will be resolved next Thursday, as the next two episodes centre around the Brannings loss of Abby.
Kim was brilliant though telling Carmel and Denise that she lost the baby
The heist continues to be loony but we got some nice Denise/Kim and Max scenes tonight.
I could have sworn there was an extra episode at 8:30pm tonight...
Why are they still keeping Abi "alive", this is so cruel
I don’t really care where this heist stuff is going. I mean I wouldn’t care if they all ended up in prison. I was living for Honey in this episode though.
This heist was pretty bad and awful.
Kim, Denise, Carmel, Max and Honey saving this episode tho
Ciara to run the Vic with Mel pls.
The heist, the only conclusion i can make from it is, i think it is Ben's exit storyline. I sense he will have done Phil over for the money and will do a runner with it. Outside this, i cant see any other direction for the conclusion of the storyline.
Good point there, especially with Aiden being connected to Phil it would be a decent ending for Ben. You're right it wouldn't make much sense any other way I can think of really, unless this is all just to water the Carters magic money tree and they do get the money in the end
Lol and what was with trying to ‘protect’ Johnny from what was going on with Mick? It was like they were desperately trying to keep him relevant to any storyline.
I feel like it was Jay, did Ben even know about them being in Coker & Mitchell?
I just hope the explain what's happened to Luke....
maybe billy buried it or that randomer who came in for the body had spotted it before, i'm sad that ben is leaving
I think the ben theory could be right also as he is leaving soon so it would fit.
What a painfully dull episode.
Knew it
Also, has Tiffany became a parody of today's teenagers or something lmao?
I can see Tiff doing my head in. How has she morphed into teen mini me Bianca with a modern twist when she was normal when we saw her 14 months ago?
Seemed very obvious that Ben took the money and turned out it was true.
Nice surprise at the end
I don’t think Martin has seen Bianca in almost 20 years but Tiff’s impression was the worst, can’t believe he fell for it.
I can’t believe they missed the opportunity for Karen to say ‘zip it, Shrimpy’.
Mel *.*
I echo...
Mel *.*
Ben getting rich because he is a Mitchell is stupid.
Mel looks so old
Yes, god forbid a woman age 16 years. I think she looks just fine.
Don’t see the issue with Ben stealing the money either.
Why is Karen's racism being made comedy almost?
Mr Popadopolous - 80 year old Dot's boss for years, doesn't age past 30? Also really well off and suited up for a dingy laundrette? Riiight.
Did Mel get the money? Surprised as they usually give the money to the men.
He is Mr Papadopolos Junior. His dad was Dot's (spoken about but never seen) boss.
Struggling to understand how Ben lost that money
lord this is getting worse again
Is it possible the money was taken in last night’s episode?
Since when did Mel became all hard?
I think it was switched when someone broke into the garage. Ben checked it was still there but he didn't open it up.
I mean if I was Ben i'd be so paranoid and checking the money every 5 minutes This feels a bit limp as an exit for him, just kind of lumped in with Mel being able to have something to do straight away.
What happens to his business?
Obviously it was switched when someone broke in - I reckon it waaaas Phil maybe or Aidan? As Mel seemed so convinced that Ben had it that she followed him to France...
Is SOC back in charge or...
I think it was when the arches got broken into that the money in Ben's suitcase got switched for the newspapers, also when Ben checked the suitcase that day he didn't open it which is what I would have done. It was also weird how Ben drank a glass of beer that an uninvited stranger in Mel handed to him with no hesitation at all. She could have spiked that drink for all he knew but he still went ahead and drank it anyway.
Mel has ALWAYS been tough - she held her own against Phil AND her gangsta husband. Tbh she has done more in 2 days than Kathy has since her return - the one thing Kathy did was the Bald Eagle Ball Grab
You know when Karen asks if Mel is 'the pol' and when Mel says no, Karen gets all friendly and jokes about the Mitchells being mobsters? Do we have the same law as the U.S where police/ investigators HAVE to say they are law enforcement when asked or it is classed as double jeopardy?
WHERE TF IS TANYA?! Genuinely not even a mention during this madness that Max is ensuing. I hope she will be back at least once more.
Also what is this terrible storyline with Tiffany? Literally have no idea what vould be the matter with her but it all just feels... flat right now.
Living for Mariam though and Shirley was just on fire tonight!
The show definitely feels a bit flat whilst John Yorke implements his changes. There are just so many plot points that don't make sense or haven't been tied up properly and it's so obvious that they've shelved months of Sean O'Connor's plans with nothing much to fill it (yet.)
I am really enjoying Mel's return though.
Yeah I don't see the point of Tiff's return tbh, to me it kinda feels like they couldn't get Bianca back so they made her into mini Bianca
Although it’s worth noting how Whitney is less irritating now she isn’t in the Vic.
Yeah, I think bringing Tiff back was more for the benefit of Whitney than anything Tiff could bring to the show necessarily. That said, next week's spoilers indicate that Whitney's next love interest is Halfway which I am just dreading. He's one of Lee's mates and Whitney needs to keep away from the Carters for a while.
It's happening - more people I know are now for the first time ever talkaing abot HOLLYOAKS
It will t ake over EE next.
I just hope now they are going to wrap up Abby's storyline at its gone on too long.
I was hoping for Tanya to turn up when Lauren called someone to "get there now". The nurse extra nearly had me in bits though.
I will be very gutted/shocked if Tanya and Cora aren't in Friday's episode!
It was nice to see Dot back, felt odd her not being around for all the Abi stuff.
Agreed. I just hope they cut out the nonsense with Dave the Cat they gave her last year.
Dot is a legend and she's not going to be on the show many more years; let's not make her a joke as her lasting moments.
Here for Dot and Karen running the laundrette.
What an awful episode last nights was. Incredibly boring . Not too sure why the guy that shot Mick is still hanging about?
Watching on catch-up and I don't think I've ever felt so bored watching an episode than I did watching last Friday's
The Sun is reporting a return for Rainie. She'll appear in tomorrow's episode and return for a longer stint later in the Spring.
Yeah I love her too! One of those characters that doesn't hang around for long so they don't get exhausted and are just great to watch when they do appear.
Was expecting Mel to find Billy's Lucy photos in the safe!
Omg at them thinking anyone would remember who TJ is.
http://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/eastenders/feature/a847889/eastenders-abi-branning-best-bits/
I think we could add to this.
Absolute ICONC.
Gutted MOT wasn't on the list
Uh oh marijuana on EE.
They will preach against it and punish whoever uses it.
Whitney getting her claws out
That was quite an emotionally charged episode. Is that the first time an EastEnders episode has finished a dark screen for the credits?.
That got to me, that final bit.
Abi </3
That episode could have done without the Tiffany drama. Was a really emotional watch with that last scene being incredibly haunting. Kind of makes you think back to the days when the Brannings were the main family on the square and just how capable they were of holding an entire episode.
Who the fanny ell is TJ?
Whitney's claws out physically and metaphorically all episode
No not at all!
Great send off for Abby contrasted with the family scenes with Whitney and Martin. Even better than Peggy's. Maxshould have died though. Ridiculous storyline. She would never have gone on the roof and THEN ON THR LEDGE in a STORM when they just found out he KILLED STEPHEN.
I wonder if Florence + The Machine will get a boost on iTunes with You've Got The Love
Rainie still looks like she is one step away from an empty Vodka bottle and it seems she is still pretty much estranged from her Family.
When Eastenders is good, it is bloody good and the scenes with Abi tonight proved that. I am so glad Max and Tanya and the rest of the family (even Rainie!) put in an appearance. That final scene was brilliantly simple and effective.
I was out last night and have only just caught up and I’M NOT OK. I don’t think I’ve ever bawled with tears like that at an EE episode before, I’m a complete emotional wreck tbh.
If Abi had to die, I’m glad they’ve done it the way they have. An instant death at Christmas would’ve been a waste but tonight was a clear tribute to a wonderful character. I even felt something for Lauren which I can’t say I’ve done in years. Would like to have seen Dot in the room at the end though or even a clip of where she was, like those in the pub. Always loved Dot and Abi’s relationship.
Now, do I make my first Lounge Thread since becoming a mod an Abi Branning Appreciation thread or not?
https://twitter.com/AndiMcLellan/status/954451816246333441
I'm in hysterics!
HAHAHAHA iconic
SANG it gurl
THAT is exactly why she shouldn’t have been killed off. Who else is there to fill those shoes?
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
oh. my. god.
Press backlash over killing Abby...
Loads of articles complaining about hrm killing off the wrong characters, one I saw about the wrong FEMALE characters, and now Bianca agrees with me that saving Max by killing his faughter shows THE SHOW IS SEXIST
http://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/eastenders/news/a848023/eastenders-patsy-palmer-not-happy-killed-off-abi-branning/
Given how they kill off strong women at every turn or take away their money, yeah, it IS a problem. You just prefer not to see it.
Yeah, I’m totes overlooking the fact that Sharon, Linda, Shirley and Kathy all just died penniless.
All I see is you throwing your own agenda around.
And of course they choose strong characters to die every now and then. It’s what gives the deaths impact. They can’t just kill off the Paul Cokers, you know.
THEY KILLED OFF TWO MASSIVE SISTERS LAST YEAR ALONE
It was time for Max to snuff it, but they chosr the strong female
What, so I can't be surprised if she comes back looking a lot older in ONE comment?? You would have had NO problem if I said she looks no different/ great!
The fact they killed off Steven meant the sisters SHOULD HAVE BEEN PROTECTED AS THEY WOULD NEEVER GO ONTO THE LEDGE AFTER MAX AFTER FINDING OUT HE KILLED HIM!
Steven's death is only wasteful if they rehabilitate Max and everyone forgets about him because omg skwee irresistible Max.
Well this thread died an ugly death.
Moving on...
YAS Martin! Nice to see he didn't just roll over when Stacey waltzed back in.
Tbf Stacey should've gone off at all of those judging her at the end.
Sonia had an affair with Naomi while married to Martin, Bex just finished trying to sleep with her mum's boyfriend, Michelle had an affair with a 16 year old who was also sleeping with her niece and Carmel is Carmel. Yet they're all there acting like saints :')
Carmel is Carmel.
Iconic.
Thing is, it’s about time Stacey actually faced consequences for her actions. When she had a baby with her best mate’s husband and made another man believe it was his, we were forced to feel sorry for her because she had a bipolar episode much later.
Cue Michael coming in to scream how it’s a sexist agenda because the strong woman got kicked out of the house.
I just love Stacey and Martin together and hope this isn’t the end
Another one-off return for Pam in a couple of weeks!
I'm crying at the theory that Sharon has stolen the money. PLEASE!! Maybe she can buy The Vic *.*
Can all of this heist/money crap just END? It's insufferable to watch.
Ew I thought that school set and awful headteacher had gone with SOC.
While the show has made improvements what i am finding difficult is everything is just messy or all over the place. I can hope John Yorke is rushing the conclusions to the storylines that were in place when he took over and that is the reason for this.
The exits in particular are disappointing, Ben i don't feel got the exit he deserved. Abi while the final scenes were moving the gap from the accident to her death was handled poorly and took away a lot of the emotion that could have been there for her death. Ben leaving knowing his friend would die doesn't tie in with what he was saying in previous episodes about having respect for Abi.
The heist storyline is awful, while i did think the only reason for it was to pave the way for Ben's exit every other aspect is terrible. While many of you may strongly disagree i really do not see the point in Masood coming back, the current storyline, we have seen time and time from him in the past and it wasn't enjoyable then and it isnt now either.
I remain very hopeful that John Yorke can turn the show around but how long that will take i dont know.
'its meant to be the turkey that gets stuffed at Christmas'
iconic.
Obv Stacey is fab but I can't really care about this whole Martin throwing her out mess. She has a dependable, kind and not to mention much more attractive man at home and yet again f***s it all up to sleep with Max bloody Branning. I think this is just to bring back Kat, Jean and Mo who'll end up sorting it all out
Can’t believe how much I was stanning Sonia tonight *.*
Stacey needs to stop being a mess and get back to being amazing.
Who were we meant to be supporting during that Sonia, Stacey and Martin row?
I've been supporting Martin's view in terms of the whole cheating thing tbh.
also, I find Sonia to be a bit of a hypocrite she also cheated on Martin ages ago.
(Loved the fight though)
I thought they all came off bad tbh.
I get Martin but he does need to be a bit more grown up than like shutting the kids away from their mum, not caring what they might want (or need), however much it may hurt him he should be putting them first if he really does care about them and is doing it all for them.
Oh @ Sonia the nurse mocking mental health. What horrific writing.
I don’t think we’re supposed to be on anyone’s side. I lean a little towards Martin’s but refusing Stacey access to the kids isn’t really on. I am loving Sonia though for some reason.
Were we not meant to be on Kush's side after his heart?
I can't @ them literally scraping the barrel of Masood having his heart set on a job at the laundrette...
Wonderful that Danny Walters took home and award for EastEnders as best newcomer at the National Tv Awards.
The bit I loved about tonight's episode, Lady Di dropping a stinker in the kіtchen, after swallowing that ring.
I can't at Martin acting suddenly like father of the year when only a month ago he was spending all day on the stall and all night in The Vic while Stacey was left at home to look after the kids :') They're both as bad as each other!
That was all kinds of cringe and crap.
Of f***ING COURSE, they save the Vic at the literal last minute... I'm just fed up of them being center of everything, I think for a bit they should just run the Vic and lay low outside of main storylines.
*Sigh* @ tonight's episode.
Kill me now.
I honestly thought the Carters would be better off out of the Vic as they’d be presented with more interesting challenges. I was so hoping Kat would swagger in and buy the place with what’s left of her lottery winnings. That was farcical and I don’t know if I can actually do any more years of lame karaoke parties.
And I’m still pissed that Abi’s dead.
Pretty much dull episodes all week. Abi died and its been barely mentioned by anyone.
Im tired of all the inconsistency, at times when im watching im like did i miss an episode as its flying through parts without hardly any explanations of screen time.
And we still don't know what happened to Luke after he was taken away in a van.
It's just all extremely unrealistic.
The fact no one mentions Abby makes me think her death was a late decision.
I had a dream last night that Sharon was revealed to have the heist money after reading a load of fan theories before bed. PLEASE HAPPEN!
As if Phil would let some randomer just throw his furniture about
Johnny not getting the duff duff and getting a Monday night exit sums up his uselessness
I'll excuse how unrealistic Johnny's exit was for the fact we are FINALLY rid and in such a low key way *.*
It's surely a given that whoever is the buyer for The Albert will be the person with the money?!
*enter Sharon to take back her bar pls*
Johnny slaying in his final ep tho *.*
When are they going to wheel out Abby's funeral, next Xmas... its been like nearly six weeks since the Xmas episode.
Nice lowkey exit for Johnny but was also good to see him grow some balls tonight
Also, are we supposed to find Aidan scary/intimidating? As I'm getting Gavin teas right now.
Living for hungover Dot tho.
http://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/eastenders/news/a848844/eastenders-slam-mick-carter-casual-racism/
We've got Karen's casual racism too. Who the hell is writing this shit?
Praying to GOD this heist/money bullshit storyline ends ASAP with an extremely camp "I TOOK IT ALL BITCHES!" reveal from Sharon. I really can't take much more of it.
We're seeing very little of Sharon at the moment which is making me suspicious.
Johnny's exit was basic to say the least and very unmemorable.
The exits recently have been terrible with no impact to benefit the show.
The heist storyline is a complete shambles so the sooner it is concluded the better. I am dreading this storyline coming up for Billy, as unbearable as he is when he is in some way doing well for himself he is truly painful to watch when he goes back to down and out and it will a storyline i will be using the forward button on my sky remote.
Isn’t Sharon literally the only character left that knew about the heist? Everyone else clearly doesn’t have the money.
Maybe Bernadette has it. She seems to be shoved into everyone elses faces at the moment.
Honey to have it please
It's so gonna be Sharon!
Yeah I was only joking! It does seem more and more likely that Sharon has it which I'm thrilled at because it was only being said for a laugh a couple of weeks back.
SHOOK at tomorrow's spoiler:
"Finally, Patrick and Ted go head-to-head in a chess match"
Oh ffs!
That'll make interesting TV then! I just don't get EE at the moment!
Wasn't Patrick meant to be a boxer or somethin wheb young rather than into chess etc?
I have genuinely had enough of Masood's irritatingly grating personality.
It was like Reservoir Dogs in the garage, I bet the money is hiding in Sharon's pockets she seems to be bulging out lately.
So it was Sharon!
What’s that? A woman ending up with the money? A woman figuring it out? A woman calling all the shots? Men being tricked out of it?
Perhaps the show isn’t as institutionally SEXIST as some make out...
Haha WRONG
As the new showrunner specifically said one of the CHANGES he WANTS to make is women having more power and being stronger on the show...
That is why Sharon got the money. Otherwise, they would have shoved it all at Ben. As a woman has the money, it will find its way to Phill or Aidan soon enough.
YAS SHAZZA
Screaming at sharon having it all along omg
ICON *.*
Was such a camp reveal *.*
"YOU BITCH!"
Sharon's campness is iconic.
I much prefer Eastenders the American Soap Opera to Eastenders the 90s Sitcom.
Pam needs to come back forever.
NOT Tina asking Billy if he's into necrophilia
That scene in the Vic with Karen/guessing who everyone's underwear belonged to made me want to kill myself.
I’m surprised that Louise didn’t know more about Steve Owen given she was the baby he tried to steal when he died. Like, did no one ever mention to her about the time she almost exploded?
That was ridiculous.
The storyline made no sense - all that money and helping an old ... friend? for what? Not telling her son his dad wasn't Superman?
Great episode for Billy and Honey tonight, so good to see some proper airtime for the pair. Although Billy is in a lot, they are rarely featured as a family unit which was lovely to see. Honey being hit by Billy cheating with Tina, losing his job and then Tina running over Janet was just one shock after another so I'm intrigued at where this story will now go for her.
Couldn't care less about the Mel/Hunter scenes, just seemed like filler and an attempt to brush everything under the carpet once again where Steve will never be mentioned again.
They had to make Hunter into a brat didn’t they? Didn’t mind that stuff though. Perhaps it’s because I remember the old times quite vividly but I really felt for Mel tonight.
Honey was of course carrying the entire episode tho.
Emma Barton was brilliant tonight. Such an understated but brilliant performance.
and why are they making Stacey SO unlikeable
Exit confirmed for Josh Hemmings, unsurprisingly.
Oh really? Didn’t see that coming!
Who tf was that Hayley and why are we supposed to care? Genuine randomer getting the duff duff on her first epidode
Schedules changes for w/c 19th Feb
Monday - No episode due to FA Cup
Tuesday as normal
Wednesday - 8pm
Thursday - Hour long episode
Friday - No episode due to Six Nations
Surprising there's no episode on the 19th considering that would be the anniversary. Not that there's anything to celebrate
Hayley is clearly a new Slater. All the signs are there (and no surname in the credits!)
Loving Mel. It seems inevitable that she ends up working back at the E20 considering the club has been suddenly reintroduced.
Hayley is definitely a Slater. I'm sure they announced there would be a new one joining. Question is how is she related?!
Hayley certainly looks like a Slater, not sure what other Slater branches there is to explore, my first thought was could it be one of kyles sisters that got mentioned but they was all S names as well
Who the fanny ell was THAT on the duff duff??
Stacey has become so repulsive I just can’t.
Stacey is doubling-down over sleeping with the ginger ferret. Surely she should be embarrassed by this?
no words for honey and that radio?
quite frankly ICONIC
It only occurred to me tonight that Hunter and Tiffany would be in the same year at school.
http://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/eastenders/news/a849795/eastenders-spoilers-ted-bernadette-accusations/
Who is writing this shit?
"Keen to get as much practice in as possible, Bernadette tries to skive off school in order to play chess"
How utterly RIVETING.
Can we not with Mick lecturing Max on parenting? The man who told his son he should have followed through on his suicide attempt? The man that always cold shouldered his kids when they made mistakes?
Last couple episodes have been atrocious
Friend of Zsa Zsa, Georgi, will be turning up next week for a new storyline for Tina and Shirley. Emer Kenny has confirmed though that she is not returning.
HONESTLY who on Earth in the writing team thinks that anybody watching gives even half a shit about Masood and Kathy arguing over samosas and Halfway bumbling about over bloody Whitney.
I weirdly kind of fancy Halfway tho and he's hot af irl
Omg Zsa Zsa is so recastable, I don’t know why they don’t.
Just about to watch Monday's and Tuesday's episodes back to back! Pray for me gurls!
I legit want to vomit whenever Tiffany's on screen. Her character is Karen Taylor level obnoxious
Who is going to go into a fish & chip shop and buy a drink which hasn't been in the fridge/is just sitting on a shelf?
Yawn @ Aidan loitering around asking every f***er where his money is
Why the f*** would someone be scared of aiden
And why the f*** do they expect us to believe Vincent with the muscles the size of boulders is terrified of him
He's Gavin levels of ridiculous non-villain
I'd be more scared of Ciara than him
About to watch Tuesday's episode. Is it worth it? Aka, does Sharon appear?
Not necessarily.
Size does not = good fighter, and from what we've seen Vincent is weak. He got beaten up by that random chavvy man in his bar
Whitney's "woe is me" act is so dull and the continued dragging of Lee makes me sick.
I think it's more implied that he will use a gun/ go after his family.
Bye Halfway, what an oddly pointless character introduction
They are playing Whitney’s ‘I don’t need a man’ speeches for laughs, right?
Literally :')
Scenes with Tiffany daring Bernadette to draw dicks on windows?
What even is this soap
If ANY of Abi’s funeral episode is dedicated to chess, samosas, Whitney being single, Daisy or Mick Carter, I will APPLE BOB the nearest person into tomorrow.
Daisy *_* When will Sheniece have such impact.
Why would you arrange to leave the day of your sisters funeral? And why would Josh be hurrying her up?
Do you think this is the last time we'll see Tanya and Cora too?
Way too much Whitney focus. It’s Abi’s funeral so nothing else should matter. Why did Dot get only one scene?
Donna was the best thing about this episode, the only one that got me emotionally. Loved her friendship with Abi.
Tanya crying in the car I actually found quite cringy. Worse still was Lauren not at all emoting in that scene. They so killed off he wrong sister. If Lauren is gone now, GOOD.
Why are they so extra about Lauren going to Scotland? As if you can't just get a train or a plane up there quite easily. Ik it can cost a bit but it's hardly like when she went halfway across the world to New Zealand. It is a bit ridiculous that they absolutely HAD to leave the day of her sister's funeral though... I get she wants to leave Walford where so many bad things have happened but give her a say or two, Christ.
I agree that Donna was the only one really giving me any emotions or feeling "real", I can't get over "me you and Jay are the best friends my cousin ever had" when Robbie has been back 5 minutes and barely ever shared scenes with her anyway
Yeah, Robbie remembering he was her cousin despite never ever talking to her was a bit off. Speaking of which, Sonia didn’t go to the funeral? Also where were Denise, Honey and Sharon after the scene in the caf on Thursday? I also love that they invite Rainie to watch Abi die but not to her funeral.
Also, where did Lauren’s Josh is so boring come from? Isn’t that the recycled excuse she used to treat Steven like shit? Ugh she is the worst.
It was okay but not great. Too much stuff was just off with that all. It reminded me of the bad job they did of Ronnie & Roxy's funeral but at least there was no rave this time :')
I expect Cora could come back with Rainie to try and get baby Abi off Max? I don't see why else Rainie would be coming back otherwise.
I think why Donna stood out to me yesterday was because she was the one who cared most about Abi rather than herself. Almost every single one of Abi’s family cared more about their own feelings rather than Abi. When JACK BRANNING comes across as the least selfish family member, you know something has gone wrong.
Donna had the most accurate reading of Abi’s life and what I’d have given for a scene of her tearing Lauren to shreds for being awful.
May she rot forever.
Lauren's exit was just a waste of time and all over the place.
I don't even see the benefit of axing abi and Lauren as the exits have been handled badly except for the Christmas Day episode.
Overall the storylines remain a complete and utter mess.
Once June Brown leaves it is time to axe the Branning clan
Um, like wasn't Josh pretty much her everything before Christmas and then in the space of one episode she's had enough of him for being an OTT tit
Did we ever find out what happened to Josh's weird brother? The one who was bundled into the back of a van
How all the Browns exited was terrible, it had such great potential for such a stronger conclusion.
The show is extremely weak on exits and has been for a very long time, Ben, Abi, Lauren could have all had such stronger exits.
At this point i had hoped John Yorke would be airing much stronger episodes than we are getting and i had also hoped of stronger indications to some strong storylines.
Last episode was Lauren’s exit right? If so this is dreadful continuity
Magic Marv to be a permanent addition please
magic marv :’)
i’d rather honey on her portable radio tbh
That episode was absolutely tragic from start to finish, I didn't think they could sink any lower than the Big For Your Boots moment but I think they did
That really was atrocious
One of the worst episodes of all time.
Your worst episodes ever people?
Mine would be the one where Alfie went high and low to find that condom
I haven't watched it yet but even the episode description sounds absolutely awful
"Martin and Stacey take the children to a performance at the local community centre, only for Kush to come along. Elsewhere, Vincent decides to sell Kim's ring - but he cannot find it anywhere"
I thought SOC had left? What the hell is going on
That was HORRENDOUS. Literally not going to bother watching the rest of the week to find the gripping conclusions to this episode!!1
I don't think I stopped cringing for the entire half an hour :/ f*** me that had to be possibly the worst episode I have ever seen of this show.
THE f***ING "DADDY DUEL" MIND JESUS CHRIST. That made the Big For Your Boots moment seem like Bohemian Rhapsody
Tonight wasn't fab but we've been subject to a lot worse. No way could anything topple 'Big for Your Boots'.
At least we got some nice smaller scenes here and there. I enjoy seeing Kathy and Tina together in the caff.
I’m gonna have to rewatch because I actually fell asleep! Tbf I had just come from a late school trip to see Of Mice And Men and so it was very late and I was very tired but I can’t coherently tell you what happened with Tina and everything else felt like some bizarre dream with added Stacey being a bitch.
Not quite as cringe as Big for Your Boots but that is honestly one of the worst episodes of any soap I have ever seen. Not even exaggerating.
Just about to watch tonight's :/
Terrible episodes airing at the moment. It is worrying that at this point with a new executive producer on board we are still getting such weak episodes.
The mixture of bad episodes, and storylines often making so sense or having no good direction leaves the show in a situation that remains hard to watch.
The tide really needs to start changing very soon or the even more viewers will start switching off.
It's on for an hour tonight (starting at 7:30pm) which means it'll feel like a 2-hour episode
It's honestly just like the storyliners/producers can’t be bothered anymore. There’s pointless, non-scary Aidan and his constant money obsession, dog poo chess pieces and a pregnant friend of a minor character that was in the show for 6 months almost 8 years ago
Im sure it will pick up with a nice fire death again pretty soon.
Id love to see one of the characters actually go to a jobcentre to sign on and get sanctioned.
thats real life.
Someone on DS said why hasn't Claudette come to sort Aidan out. Now that would be good *.*
So tired of this Aidan bullshit
WHERE IS THE DRAMA
Jesus what an hour of pure shite.
I'd take Denise raiding the bins and the epic Shakespearean saga of her GCSE adventure over this tbh
At least the Denise stuff was amusing. Her acting like that GCSE was gonna get her the position of Prime Minister or something
Just finished tonight's ep.
I just...can't.
The pasta duff duff is turning in its grave
Yeah I’ve had enough of Aidan now he’s become tedious and annoying .
Food bank gate >>>>
It’s sort of my own fault because I’m tired af this week but I have legit fallen asleep during every episode this week.
None of this is engaging! Tina’s story is so out of the blue and I don’t care! Bernadette playing chess? This is the girl who fell pregnant last year, how has her life become so stale at such a young age? I like Vincent but this angsty storyline is shit. Where’s Mel? How is Max coping?
She may have been bonkers but CLAUDETTE COME BACK NOW PLEASE!
I legit forgot Donna and Vincent were siblings. We need the Claudette link
Claudette’s boobs to return please.
her stunt double falling down the stairs remains my fav thing ever
And should you need any further reason not to watch this week, here are this week's spoilers!
Monday 26th
Mick is left torn as his livelihood is put under threat. Stacey is taken back by her latest discovery. Jack offers a helping hand to Mel.
Tuesday 27th
Linda is alarmed to hear what's going on and attempts to take back control. Billy starts a new venture. Martin defies Stacey's instructions - what will be the consequences?
Thursday 1st
Hunter steps up for his mum but soon crosses the line. Linda makes a decision with dangerous consequences. Aidan gives Keanu another job.
Friday 2nd
The Carters fear the repercussions of their actions. Kim prepares to learn the truth about her and Denise. Tiffany plays matchmaker.
Sounds woeful.
I;ve stopped watching.
Has that stalker girl appeared again?
Mick & Linda are in a permanent state of losing control of the Vic
OMFG! ‘The ginger one and the one with the really annoying mother.’ KAREN!
*Aidan appears*
As great as it was to see Mel again - and I have to admit I'm shipping Mack/Jel - it doesn't make up for Bernadette's chess monologue or the accusing of people being pedophiles set up as comedy filler.
Yeah tbh the ‘pedo’ thing doesn’t sit right with me at all. Last year I found out someone I’d considered a friend had actually been a paedopile and it really isn’t something people should be joking about, it had quite and affect on me. That stuff was really only good for people going on about how Sonia was really annoying.
I liked Mel/Jack. In fact, Jack has been bearable of late. What’s going on?
Mel's fine but her return has been so flat
Karen accusing Ted of being a pedo is very her isn't it? Such a vile character.
Just watching last nights episode.
"you can just point to the doll if it's easier!!"
Are they being f***ing serious?
That is the first episode in ages where I thought.. wow this feels like the good old days. No ridiculous storylines about people we don't care about and a genuine shock moment at the end that I didn't see coming.
I am really liking the new Slater girl, she's adding some much needed fire to the show (and is one of the few characters that doesn't look like they're BORED to be on set).
Oh she IS a Slater thn!
Lmao it's true they all look bored!!!
That was a step up but I wouldn’t have called the ending a shock. Most of us had her pinned as a Slater from the word go and she has always been seen scheming against Martin. It was pretty much what I expected.
I don’t like that storyline though. I really can’t see what Martin has done that means he deserves to be treated this way.
I guess I've been paying barely attention recently cus it's been so lacklustre that I guessed she was a Slater but didn't pick up on her scheming against Martin. And yes WE ARE SURELY SUPPOSED TO SIDE WITH MARTIN RIGHT? Felt awful for him when the police arrived :/
Stacey hasn’t been this much of a bitch for years.
I’m tiring of Mick.
My only issue is that Eastenders is that Stacey can do no wrong. She cheated on her husband yet it was Martin who lost everything and now she's scheming against him to most likely lose custody of the children? I don't get what Martin has done wrong but I don't get how Stacey avoids being despised as a character when she's the most selfish character arguably in Eastenders, she does far more wrong than good.
I did actually like Stacey and Martin and don't see why EE just randomly split them up.
Martin shut Stacey out of the house for 2 days for HER MISTAKE and now he's getting all this shit for what now? Where are the writers/producers going with this? Even Martin keeps saying "What have I done?" We're with ya pal, we don't have a clue either
Eastenders logic is baffling
Someone on my twitter said it's like the Carters are stuck in an endless loop where Linda goes, comes back and is pissed off when she finds x thing has gone wrong in her absence, and that's so true If any other characters were that stale and out of ideas when a new producer came in, I'm sure they'd be axed, yet we get the same old shit from them. Mind you I guess we could this about a good few characters atm...
I agree with Bal though last night's episode was much better than a lot of the show's recent output, I think the Slaters all returning will be brilliant and inject some much needed life into the show. But I just wish they didn't have to split up a perfectly good couple to facilitate it :/ It would've been fine if Stacey and Martin were on the rocks and Mo, Jean and Kat came back to help Stacey get her head together but there's not really much coming back from this, if they do get back together at the end of it all then Martin has been a bit of a mug
When you’re watching the Carters on a crazy loop, you wonder why Abi was axed tbh.
This is legit a spoiler from Inside Soap: Decoration diva Denise has her eyes on a brand new sofa!
I do agree that last night's episode was actually quite decent. Helps that there was no chess, samosas, bratty teens or really misdirected 'comedy' and instead we got plenty of Mel scenes and some nice character moments. Unfortunately, for every decent episode, it's followed up with weeks of crap.
OMG that spoiler I’m GRIPPED.
Omg I'm screaming, seriously?
Foreseeing an intriguing duff duff of Denise eating pasta on her new sofa.
