98 | The Saturdays - My Heart Takes Over | 5.53

UK Peak: 15
US Peak: DNC

UK Chart Run: 26/11/2001 15-28-46-> 3wks

LOVED IT:
Cameron, Jonjo (10)

HATED IT:
Joe, blacksquare, JosephSprayberry (-1)

At #98 we lose the first of The Saturdays' songs, with 'My Heart Takes Over' which is probably one of their most forgotten 'hits' (if you can call it that). A winter ballad released after one of their bigger hits 'All Fired Up' and the 3rd single to be taken off of 'On Your Radar', which also lead the album. I really like it myself, a powerful chorus and just a really nice ballad which we don't hear of when it comes to girlgroups lately. It unfortunately lead to the album flopping as it limped in at #15 in November which was a difficult time to release in back then. They still have plenty to come though!

97 | HAIM - The Wire | 5.65

UK Peak: 16
US Peak: DNC

UK Chart Run: 05/10/2013 16-24-35-47-70-> 5wks

LOVED IT:
Chez Wombat, SevenSieze (11)

HATED IT:
Froot, Vibe, JosephSprayberry, Tombo (-1)

At #97, is the first and only single by American Indie/Rock girlgroup HAIM. 'The Wire' was released as their fourth single from their debut album and is probably one of their better known hits, being their highest charting single within the UK - it was also a relative hit in Australia and Belgium! It's nice enough and different from everything else here in the fact it's not completely pop or mainstream, but it doesn't really do anything for me but I appreciate that they / this song has it's fans!

Absolutely no losses so far! I like MHTO more than that score would suggest but I don't think it deserved to be top 100 here when many better songs missed out (and it hasn't aged so well either)

Yeah MHTO was a bizarre entry into the top 100 against even some other Saturdays songs. Glad it’s out already. Deserved.

96 | Pussycat Dolls (ft. will.i.am) - Beep | 5.75

UK Peak: 02
US Peak: 13

UK Chart Run: 12/04/2008 02-03-04-06-09-08-09-11-20-27-32-> 11wks

LOVED IT:
Jack (11) Tombo (10)

HATED IT:
blacksquare, michaelking21, Spiceboy (-1)

At #96 it is the first song by Pussycat Dolls to drop out. 'Beep' was released as their third single after two number one singles in 'Don't Cha' and 'Stickwitu' and almost made it as their third but just missed out to Chico (!!) to settle for #02. I remember it being a hugely popular song, even if deemed as 'chavvy' back then from the signature introduction and the innuendo making it a fun song to listen to - I imagine it would have been popular if it were released now (maybe with updated production). I'm sad to see it not go down too well with BuzzJack but I can understand how some may find it annoying - I find it very catchy and a great girlgroup song, I would have had it higher personally and I was the only one to give it an 11 sad.gif.

Gutted for 'My Heart Takes Over', however I'm surprised it even made the top 100 tbh. It wasn't a hit and we know what Buzzjack are like 🙃

'Beep' is brilliant too! Always been one of the more instant PCD songs. Deserved much higher tbh.

Glad the monotonous and bland 'The Wire' is out. Their voices are just so dull! Ughhh.

Oh oops I was planning to vote in this tonight, a little too late I guess. For what it's worth my 11s would be 'Call The Shots', 'Viva Forever' and 'Move' so them to slay x

Poor poor Las Ketchup though. A tragedy. (Boo at HAIM being so low as well but tbh I'm surprised they were even in this since they're not really a 'girlgroup' at all laugh.gif 'Beep' also deserved better, one of the best PCD songs for me!)

Haim being that low is ATROCIOUS but I somewhat expected it, not so much in the case of Right Here sad.gif That is a genuine girlgroup classic, should be way higher.

At #95 is a song I've never really considered a girlgroup song as such, I always just considered it a faceless dance song if not a really good one. It's still heavily remembered many years on with M.O sampling it on 'Dance On My Own' as well as being a staple on Kiss radio and I still hear it on nights out quite frequently. It was a big hit for them back in 2000 when Garage / Drum & Bass was quite popular - I'm sure if this was a dance rate or something similar it would be placing higher. An absolute classic!

94 | B*Witched - Blame It On The Weatherman | 5.87

UK Peak: 01
US Peak: DNC

UK Chart Run: 27/03/1999 01-09-14-19-24-35-44-60-70-> 9wks

LOVED IT:
Alex! (10) Jack, SamJudd, DJHaze, Jupiter, Casey (9)

HATED IT:
NickF1 (0) Hayzayy, Defaze (2)

At #94 is the first of two B*Witched songs left. This was released as the fourth single from their debut album and was also their fourth consecutive number one, albeit a very shortlived one, but it was still impressive at the time! It was unfortunately their last and they vanished away quite quickly with their second album. It is a quite peculiar song lyrically but one I loved at the time and all of their songs have such great fun nostalgia to them. I am surprised this placed higher than 'Rollercoaster' and 'To You I Belong' which I thought were more fondly remembered. I think this placed lowly more to people being indifferent to it, 'C'est La Vie', their signature hit is still to come however!

93 | Atomic Kitten - Be With You | 5.87 (more 10's)

UK Peak: 02
US Peak: DNC

UK Chart Run: 07/12/2002 02-07-12-17-15-13-22-30-39-45-53-70-> 12wks

LOVED IT:
SamJudd, JosephSprayberry (10)

HATED IT:
HausOfTroye (0) Liam, UltraReputation (2)

At #93 is the first of two Atomic Kitten songs left. This was released as the third single off of their second album 'Feels So Good' as a AA side along with 'The Last Goodbye' and peaked at #2 in December of 2002. Like B*Witched, I'm surprised this is the song that made the Top 100! It is probably one of my favourites by them but I prefer 'The Last Goodbye' and 'It's OK!' but I'm not upset at the pick for them, I thought 'The Tide Is High' and 'Eternak Flame' might've fared better. I think people genuinely forget how successful Atomic Kitten really were, they were producing hit after hit after they hit the big time with 'Whole Again' and their albums were big sellers too! They still have 'Whole Again' to come which I'm not overly fond of but there is no denying that it's a classic.

92 | Girls Aloud - Whole Lotta History | 5.87 (more 10's)

UK Peak: 06
US Peak: DNC

UK Chart Run: 25/03/2006 06-13-33-40-73-> 5wks

LOVED IT:
Alex!, Hayzayy, JosephSprayberry (10)

HATED IT:
Defaze (-1) Casey (0)

At #92 is the first of many Girls Aloud songs to drop out. 'Whole Lotta History' was released as the group's third single from their third studio album 'Chemistry'. It was generally a fan favourite iirc at the time, and continued their reign of Top 10 hits at the time. Sarah Harding (best member imo) especially shone on the song in the outro and it all felt very sophisticated for the girls. Unfortunately I think it's one of their lesser known 'hits' and not one too many remember but listening back to it, it really still sounds so good and I enjoy listening to it. Especially over many of the girls songs that are yet to come anyway.

Be With You is one of my Atomic Kitten favourites, they're VERY underrated on here sad.gif

Whole Lotta History is a stunner, deserves SO much better than that but I can't really complain, I'm shocked it even made the top 100.

At #91 is the first of Destiny's Child's songs to drop out. Bug A Boo was released as the second single off of their second studio album, 'The Writing's On The Wall' and is still fondly remembered to this day, I still hear it on radio and my circle of friends will occasionally mention it too. I think it's a song which is more remembered than it's peak/chart run would suggest. I'm happy to see that BuzzJack like it as much as they do, I think even making Top 100 is quite a feat! This song was also released under the lesser known combination of Beyoncé, Kelly, LeToya & Latavia - I've never even heard of Latavia! laugh.gif
