Interesting that her back catalogue never shows up in the Spotify Top 200, yet her Greatest Hits album can be in the streaming Top 100

Probably because The Singles Collection is so massive and includes every single she released pre-2009

Finally! Kind of surprised that it's taken so long. It’s felt like it’s been on the cusp of platinum for years.

Finally! I was just counting how many platinum albums she has here last night, that’ll be 7 now. Hopefully 8 in the next year or 2 with The Singles Collection. Love that it’s her darkest album, came out the week of Halloween, and got certified platinum 13 years later

How close is BJ to Silver? Surely a way off yet?

I can’t see BJ being higher than 40k at a big push. Work Bitch streams don’t count do they? The top 2 most streamed songs from an album don’t

I think they are down weighted to the average of the next 10 or something, so basically zero streams per week

I wrote this about Britney Jean a few months ago:
According to MTV Classic, Britney Jean had sold 34,000 as of August 2015. Its total was 24,083 in its last week in the Top 200 at #158 [12th Jan 2014], when it sold 886 copies. If we were to assume that MTV Classic's figure was from 28th August 2015, that would be 85 weeks between the figures, and an average of 117 copies a week. Which is feasible, considering that it was probably still doing a few hundred sales per week earlier in 2014, before settling to lower than 100 sales per week. Not sure what to guess its weekly streaming sales could be. Let's say it was 50 copies a week on average since August 2015, it would have reached 46,000+ by now. It's very hard to estimate though, given that it's been over 5 years since we got an update. If only we could get another update, we'd have a better idea of how it performs in the streaming age. 50 sales a week could be an overestimation for sure. |

The Singles Collection (#38, 61 weeks+)
[1st Entry: 29/11/2009] 38-57-66-79-90-98-113-148-183-Out (9w) [2nd Entry: 23/01/2011] 47-77-107-199-199-Out (5w) [3rd Entry: 01/05/2011] 136-139-175-Out (3w) [4th Entry: 29/05/2011] 161-164-163-Out (3w) [5th Entry: 09/02/2018] 198-199-Out (2w) [6th Entry: 27/07/2018] 188-181-Out (2w) [7th Entry: 17/08/2018] 153-118-97-145-184-Out (5w) [8th Entry: 15/03/2019] 184-200-Out (2w) [9th Entry: 12/04/2019] 179-Out (1w) [10th Entry: 23/08/2019] 183-Out (1w) [11th Entry: 17/01/2020] 200-193-190-194-Out (4w) [12th Entry: 21/02/2020] 188-184-170-166-Out (4w) [13th Entry: 19/06/2020] 155-165-164-147-134-128-151-148-154-150-152-174-142-147-147-149-147-148-133-144... (20w) Total: 244,970 (30th October 2020) Average sales per week since 4th September 2020 is between 968 & 969 sales. If The Singles Collection continued to sell at that rate, it would become Platinum by December 2021! It's interesting to see this album has managed to settle into being a permanent fixture of the UK Top 200, after it made sporadic appearances from 2018 to early 2020. |

Yeah, I've noticed this with Madonna and 'The Immaculate Collection'. It kept alternating with 'Celebration' for a few years but it's managed over 30 consecutive weeks in the chart this year. I'd much rather see one compilation consistently in the charts than having the streams constantly rewarded to different compilations. |

I feel like it's a waste whenever the sales go towards Britney's 'The Essential', while 'Greatest Hits: My Prerogative' has already exceeded 1 million so there's not all that much point in it getting the sales. |

Femme Fatale didn't get certified Gold until June 2016 either. |
