Norwich face an anxious wait to discover the extent of Josh Sargent's ankle injury.

City were 4-0 winners at Huddersfield on Saturday but the win was marred by the American forward limping off.

Sargent charged down Terriers goalkeeper Lee Nicholls to put the visitors ahead on 11 minutes but stayed down after Nicholls' last-ditch tackle.

Canaries boss David Wagner told BBC Radio Norfolk: "Unfortunately it looks like a serious ankle injury."

Sounded like a thrilling game between Leeds and Ipswich the other day! Good to see Leeds get their first win though.

Birmingham City have parted company with head coach John Eustace after 15 months in charge.

The Championship club are sixth in the table after Friday's 3-1 derby win over West Bromwich Albion.

American-owned Blues have been linked with ex-England captain Wayne Rooney, who has just left his role as coach of Major League Soccer side DC United.

The club said the appointment of a new boss is imminent and will be encouraged to adopt a "no fear" approach.

"A new first-team manager will be announced in the coming days who will be responsible for creating an identity and clear 'no fear' playing style that all Birmingham City teams will adopt and embrace," a club statement said.

Birmingham City have appointed Wayne Rooney as their new manager.

The 37-year-old former England captain has joined the Championship club on a three-and-a-half-year deal.

Rooney succeeds Blues head coach John Eustace, who was sacked on Monday after 15 months in charge.

The ex-Everton and Manchester United striker's appointment is the first managerial change made by Blues' new American owners Shelby Companies Limited since they took over in July.

Rooney will be supported by his former England team-mate and current England Under-21 assistant Ashley Cole and his old United colleague John O'Shea, the assistant coach of the Republic of Ireland men's national team.

Looks like they'll be straight back up if they keep up with the form they're on! Hoping Leeds might be able to put an end to their winning streak next week though wink.gif

Swansea City have drawn up a shortlist of managerial targets, with Tottenham's Chris Davies emerging as a leading candidate to succeed Michael Duff.

Davies, 38, joined Spurs in the summer as Ange Postecoglou's senior assistant coach, having spent much of his career as number two to Brendan Rodgers.

He had been close to taking over at Championship side Swansea before Duff was appointed head coach in June.

Blackburn manager Jon Dahl Tomasson has been given a one-game touchline ban and fined £2,000 by the Football Association for misconduct during Saturday's loss at Sheffield Wednesday.

Tomasson was sent off for protesting in the aftermath of Marvin Johnson's goal.

The Dane admitted acting in an improper manner and "using abusive and/or insulting words to a match official".

He will be absent from the dugout for Leeds United's visit in an early Championship fixture this Saturday.

Coventry City boss Mark Robins says all his players need is a little more belief in their own ability, as they look to rediscover the form that last season led to a play-off final.

Friday's visit of Wayne Rooney's Birmingham to the Coventry Building Society Arena marks the start of a key month in the Sky Blues' season.

Nine games in 36 days which will go a long way to determining their season.

But Robins' message is: "We're Coventry City. Puff our chests out and believe."

Tottenham Hotspur have rejected an approach from Swansea City for their senior assistant coach Chris Davies.

Davies is a leading candidate to succeed Michael Duff at the Championship club.

He joined Spurs in the summer as Ange Postecoglou's number two, having spent much of his career working alongside Brendan Rodgers.

Davies, 38, had been close to taking over at Swansea before Duff was appointed head coach in June.

Swansea chairman Andy Coleman is to begin meeting potential bosses this week having drawn up a shortlist of targets.

West Bromwich Albion forward Matty Phillips will be out of action for four months because of a hamstring injury, manager Carlos Corberan has said.

The 32-year-old went off just before half-time in Saturday's 2-1 home defeat by Championship leaders Leicester.

Phillips has played in all West Brom's 19 league games this term, scoring three goals and making three assists.
