This week's #1 is a new entry from James Bay! With the lead single 'Chew On My Heart' from his upcoming third album. Definitely one of my favourite releases from him, probably my favourite since 'Pink Lemonade' which absolutely would've been a #1 had I been running the chart at the time. A climber into the top 10 from The Lemon Twigs with 'Live in Favor of Tomorrow', the third release from their upcoming third album 'Songs for the General Public' - which is releasing on August 21st. And a new entry to the top 10 from The Hunna and their fourth album single 'I Wanna Know' - I'd say my favourite from their upcoming album is 'Dark Times', but this is really good!
Other top 40 new entries this week come from 100 gecs, - joined by Fall Out Boy, Craig Owens of Chiodos and Nicole Dollanganger - for a remix of 'hand crushed by a mallet' from their new remix album, just missing out on the top 10 at #11. We also welcome new entries from Jamie Webster, Doves, beabadoobee, The Streets & IDLES, Picture This, The Dangerous Summer, Will Butler (of Arcade Fire), Bury Tomorrow and The Beths. 1. Hi Whoddy!
Heard Chew On my Heart earlier today, it is a nice song but the phrase 'chew on my heart' is a bit of an odd thing to sing! Carousels didn't do too much for me on first listen but it has grown on me a little and I'm liking 'Prisoners' as well. Listening to the new Hunna song now, the beat is great but the lyrics are... let's say interesting Nice to see Glass Animals and CamelPhat climbing as well! Great chart |

Hi WhoOdyssey! Nice to see the debut for "Chew On My Heart" at #1 and I also like the debut for "None Of Us Are Getting Out Of This Life Alive"! Great chart! Hey Sergej! It was a well-deserved #1, and that was definitely my favourite song from The Streets' new mixtape! I'm looking forward to his new album later this year. Hi WhoOdyssey! So many people putting Chew On My Heart as their no. 1 debut entry! It's a really amazing song and also great to see Unconditional entering as well! Hi uhsting! Hopefully it can get a good spot on the multichart in a couple of weeks and I've been really impressed by Picture This' output this year, hopefully an album is on the horizon. Hi Whoddy! Yeah Chew On My Heart isn't what I'd have gone for if I was writing the song Doves' output has really impressed me! (I'd never actually listened to them before this year, I need to delve more into their back catalogue) and honestly I didn't pay much attention to The Hunna's lyrics until you mentioned that, hmm... thanks for commenting! |
