Confirmed that the third album, REAL LIFE, will be released on 7th June and available for pre-order from tomorrow! SO excited for this wub.gif Sparrow is incredible, so hopefully more of the same (and in the same vein as Long Live the Angels) to come.

Excited to hear this in full.

I’ve always been a fan of Emeli.

More tracks like Breathing Underwater please wub.gif wub.gif

Glad she’s releasing earlier in the year this time around too.

Tracklist:

Human
Love to Help
You Are Not Alone
Shine
Sparrow
Honest
Survivor
Extraordinary Being
Same Old Feeling
Real Life
Free as a Bird

Considerably shorter than both OVOE and LLTA, so hopefully that means absolutely no filler (i.e. I'd Rather Not, etc). Some interesting titles though; looking forward to hearing Survivor and Free as a Bird.

Sounds like the album has a feel of Empowerment throughout just by those song titles.

#1 album seems unlikely now with Avicii releasing same week he’ll beat her with his streams.

Hope it at least goes top 5 though.

She’s been very under appreciated after her big debut such a shame her success wasn’t properly sustained into the streaming era.

It appears this is now being released on June 21st and not the 7th June.

Extraordinary Being seems like the next release. It’s going to be featured as part of the X-Men: Dark Phoenix soundtrack.

So this has now been pushed back to... 13 September?! laugh.gif Mess.

boo
mess indeed

tour in Nov/Dec to support the album so makes sense to move it to later in the year

Shine is out tomorrow

Posted by: Calum Jul 11 2019, 04:46 PM

You Are Not Alone is out this week

Posted by: Jordan Lee Sep 11 2019, 10:12 PM

This is gonna do next to nothing isn’t it after week one.

It’s a shame as the materials strong and not that drastically different when she was huge but just how did she go from having the huge success she had in her debut era to this!!

I hope the album can manage a top 5 debut but I’m worried tbh.

Is there anything planned for this in terms of promotion in the UK.

She performed You Are Not Alone on This Morning today.

Posted by: Bjork Sep 12 2019, 11:26 AM

where did all her fans go? :/

Posted by: dannjohn Sep 14 2019, 09:11 PM

Its a great album but feels a little backtracking. I never listened to album one but album two had so many experimental moments...

This! I don’t understand how her fan base has totally evaporated! She’s gone from the debut being 8 x Platinum, the follow up Hold and this will struggle to touch Silver cry.gif

After a full listen I love this heart.gif

Extraordinary Being and Same Old Feeling are probably the weak links but vocally she’s never sounded better.

I love the choir like chants and the gospel influences again and I like that it’s slightly underproduced.

Free As A Bird instantly reminds me of something I’ve heard before does anyone else feel that way it feels so familiar I just don’t know where from.

Hope this gets some longevity. At least maybes on the level to what Didos recent album got?

With Jonathon Ross and Graham Norton back I hope she gets herself on one of those shows as well as maybes a Strictly slot.

This is too good for an in-OUT like chart run.

#4 in midweeks in the UK.

This is wayyy better than her second album for me. All of the singles so far have been really anthemic in their own way and Emeli sounds great.

I definitely wouldn't call Extraordinary Being a weak link, it's my favourite on the album, I adore the string flourishes and the Dreams meets Looking For Love 1998 vibe of the production.

This is a really cute album! Shine is the highlight and should’ve been the lead!

Posted by: Jordan Lee Sep 20 2019, 04:59 PM

Officially debuts at #6

Streaming pushed Taylor and Lewis Capaldi ahead

Sales only though she debuts at #2

Posted by: Jordan Lee Sep 27 2019, 04:52 PM

#32 this week.

Pretty happy it managed another week too 40 tbh!

On sales only it was #9 (falling 2-9)

That’s where Long Live The Angels fell to on its second week in the chart too.

Streaming’s really making this look like a bigger underperformnace. .

Hope we get some promo.

100%. Shine probably could have given it a better shot than Sparrow did.

I'm still not sure that I prefer this to either Our Version of Events or Long Live the Angels, but there's some really beautiful songs on it. You Are Not Alone, Shine, Real Life and Free as a Bird are my favourites. wub.gif

Emeli on Strictly results show on Sunday.

Nice promo for the album.

Hopefully it provides a boost for the albums chart.
