And really disappointed that Harmonica is out after all because I felt vindicated in seeing it through when I was basically the only one predicting it to be a big hit oops. It sounded like a RÜFÜS DU SOL song, they usually come top 5, what are y'all doing with this one! sad.gif
Yep I made the same comparison! And yet I've put off sending it for almost a year cos I felt like it'd break my Q streak, so at least my senses were right there. Also had a feeling I'd regret following the results live so I'm glad I didn't laugh.gif I'm glad you and a few others liked the song though!

Overall Semi 2 was one of my favorites this year, I had four songs worthy of my top points and three of them made it through! Gutted that ELM and Elley didn't qualify but somehow that's all I lost. (Sandenia was very very close to being in my votes if that's any consolation!)

I've read this thread through and thank god for the scoreboards or I would have very little idea what got through. Bit sad about Wholune and Bhangra not getting through, my highest pointed DNQ was Alteria but I figured that'd be gone anyway (as great as it is).

Yay @ a new Q streak! Probs will send my more risky entry next month now.

+12: Q
+10: Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, Sadhana Sargam, Sujata Bhattacharya, Udit Narayan & Sonu Nigam - Maahi Ve // Bhangra
+08: Elley Duhé - FEVER // République d'Áskorza
+07: Q
+06: Uniting Nations - Is This Love // Tartford
+05: Q
+04: Q
+03: Q
+02: Q
+01: Q

Only lost half as many votes as last time but still 3 out of my top 5 :/ SEL & Uniting Nations I did kinda expect (the former came very close!) but what has this forum got against Elley Duhé? That's 2 great pop songs booted out now, though at least this time she didn't come last.

Extending my run of DNQs to four in a row, woop woop.

Also disappointed to see Johnny Run Away out, that should have been an easy Q!

Ouch I thought it would be too, huge shame to see it miss out on the final by 1 point too that makes it even worse tbh. I thought it was a fairly safe entry and since I submitted it it's become a fairly big hit in Australia reaching #12 last week laugh.gif Not that I thought it'd do too well but I'm a bit gutted oh well

+12 Q
+10 Q
+8 Q
+7 Q
+6 Q
+5 Q
+4 Q
+3 Q
+2 Q
+1 Q

The first time I've ever had all my votes Q! In fact the songs that qualified from S1 in general were my top picks over those that didn't ohmy.gif If I didn't just DNQ I would say my taste has finally lined up with BJSC

Ah, to be expected I'm out. To be fair that video was appalling. Hopefully I have a banger lined up for next month.

Most of my faves through. Persephonia would have got a 10 from me in the other semi, so sad that's out.

Other than my +12 (Johnny Run Away) the only other song I lost was The Summer is Magic which was my +2. It's becoming some weird trend now where most of my votes Q but then I always miss out!

I've been familiar with this trend for some time. Teleman was my only major loss from this semi actually!

Johnny Run Away and All Your Love are honestly such surprising DNQs to me. The former is really fantastic, and just feels like both a BJSC and potentially even commercial smash, while the latter sounded like a relatively safe BJSC top ten. I wonder if it was maybe a case of wrong semi for both and that each would have come top 20 in the final if they'd scraped a few more points together to make it through the semis.

Yeah it does seem a little icky especially considering You Were Right and Birdsong managed top 5 placings and All Your Love was given the shaft. I think it was more random.org not giving it a favorable draw if anything

I feel like this has happened to Jordan too many times though, Moment, Ary and now this tongue.gif random.org invented harmonica racism
