Not watching the final trailer but HYPE for this. The first is fantastic.
Maybe it's BJ's crappy search function but is there realy not a topic for this!? Lmao. I'll merge if I find it. |

This was a sequel that I wasn't sure was necessary as the original was so unique and worked well as a standalone, but the reviews were good and there wasn't much else on so I gave it a go. It was kind of what I initially thought - solid if essentially more of the same, but I did enjoy it and there was still some great action sequences and uses of sound during the attacks are still extremely tense, it's a bit like what the film Aliens was to Alien - the more action-packed, thrilling installment. The ending seemed to somewhat leave it open for a sequel, although I really don't know what else they could do with it that feels fresh after this one.

on a par with the first one and I've actually effing been to the cinema for the first time in a year. I can't understate how that feels to do something normal for pleasure!
7/10 for the film, as a suspense thriller it works as per the first one, the cast are great, kudos to the kids especially, editing, directing all fine, and my criticisms are the same as for the first one: still got gaping plotholes revolving around the aliens, how they got there, what their motivations are (seemingly kill everything alive), how they breathe, multiply, eat, don't slam into trees (must have sonar par excellence so they should in theory be able to "see" any sort of movement. Prob best to not do a sequel as there's not much different it could add, and if it tried to explain the origins a la Alien it'll just start to fall apart in terms of logic... |

Loved the opening sequence - to see how it all started
I liked the movie in general and I think it worked being a direct follow on chronologically from the 1st movie |
