Army has been confirmed as the next single and Ellie will be performing it on Children In Need.

Listen here: http://www.josepvinaixa.com/blog/ellie-goulding-single-army/

I really like it, it's more safe than On My Mind but it works well and it will sound incredible on Children In Need heart.gif

Liking this on first few listens. It seems she's adopted more of a storytelling style for this album, what with the wordy verses in this and 'On My Mind'. Love the explosion of backing vocals towards the end - reminiscent of the highs of 'Halcyon'. <3

This is lovely <3 Much safer I agree but could easily be huge, loving it on first listen! I definitely much prefer it to On My Mind and I have to say I prefer it to Something In The Way You Move and Lost & Found too! The last chorus is stunning wub.gif

Hmm, the final third is amazing but it takes a bit too long to build for me/I find the start very dull. Definitely my least favourite so far, but if this is the worst then I'm expecting an amazing album because this is 7.5/10

Another track better than "On My Mind". Maybe a tad repetitive by the end but when it builds it's brilliant and pretty anthemic.

Really quite a beautiful little pop ballad but On My Mind was way more exciting than this, can't believe so many people hate the latter. This is going to be stunning on CIN though and my hype for the album just keeps on increasing biggrin.gif

I agree with John that the last third of this is great, but it takes way too long to get there. The first verses and chorus feel very bare and I don't think the song/her voice is powerful enough to carry them on her own. This does feel a lot more 'natural' to her than On My Mind did, will probably grow on me with repeated listens.

First half of the song is borderline horrific.
Second half is rather spectacular.

Doesn't this count as 3rd single since Love Me Like You Do appears on the album?

I think this is the least instant of the tracks so far, but it's still very good. Everything from Delirium has been very good so far.

It's a nice song, but the way she says "army" is hilarious! It sounds like a sheep "bahhhhh"ing. laugh.gif laugh.gif

Uploaded on her VEVO:

It's all right, I guess. It seems like a grower, but I prefer "Something In The Way You Move".

Another decent offering, probably my least favourite of the 5 so far but all have been very good. Great to see she's mixing it up a bit but producing consistently strong tracks, maybe this album will deliver after all!

It's not as good as the other songs I've heard from the album.

Mehhh. Her voice really grates on me. I find it so paper thin and nasally and I find that the production has to be something special for me to get her. LMLYD is as pop as you can possibly get a pop song. 'Believe Me' is wonderful too, but other than those I can't say I have been completely on board with her. I should like this a lot more than I do.

I don't hate it or particularly dislike it, I just find it mediocre. Much like the majority of her stuff I've listened to. Ehh.

Completely agree with the overall thoughts on here. The second half is great and anthemic but the first half is rather uneventful and her voice comes across weak. Overall, I do like it though.

I would say it comes behind 'Something In The Way You Move' and 'On My Mind' just now, but may overtake the latter. I never normally like Ellie, but that's three songs this era that I've though were rather enjoyable so maybe I'll check out her album this time.

this is sounding much better than it did on first listen. The chorus sounds really wintery actually which is good because of the time of year it's getting released but the verses and everything else are nothing special really. Nice but nothing more imo. She has better slow tracks like 'Explosions', 'The Writer' etc for me!

Her performance of this on CIN was far better than any of her On My Mind performances.
