QUOTE(NellyEverySundae @ Nov 14 2015, 12:10 PM) *
I doubt it's going to fall more than 10 places this week. I'm thinking low top 10 (#9-10) which would be a great result considering the number of new releases this week.

Amazing performance of 'Army'! A little disappointed about the minimal boost but a pick up in AirPlay will do wonders for her no doubt.

So Delerium did drop 10 places, and finished at #13. It is at #31 at the moment....

So, this happened today.

From Twitter:
QUOTE
ITS OFFICIAL!!! #Army is going to be the next single from the new @EllieGoulding album!! #LoveIt #CantWait! @ThisIsMax x

Ellie was talking to Max on Capital FM and she confirmed that "Army" is indeed the next single.

As a side note, I forgot to mention that PlayIGA listed "Army" on its Top 40 playlist in Wednesday, but it was replaced with "Something In the Way You Move" the next day. That said, the latter is still there, so I assume there are two possible scenarios at the moment:

a). If there's a change again in the following days ("Army" replaces "Something In the Way You Move"), "Army" will be the second US single.
b). If there's not any change again and PlayIGA gives an impact date for "Something In the Way You Move" early next year, there's going to be a split release: "Army" will be the next UK single, while "Something In the Way You Move" will be the next US single.

What a mess! But a far better single than 'Something in the Way You Do'.

'Army' is a nice song, but it's nothing brilliant. I can't take it seriously the way she says the word "army", like a sheep bahhh-ing.

It should be SITWYM WW, idk what makes Army such a better choice for the UK that they've gone with that instead. I can't see it doing much, as much as it's a nice song.

Beyond me how record companies choose the worst songs as singles from a popular album.. probably my least favourite from Delirium

Well it is popular. It fell quite quickly to #20 but has stayed very strong around that mark since. 3-13-20-22-21-19-21 is a very decent chart run in my eyes. Her last album's initial chart run was 2-7-19-37-33-40-40 out.

But the huge success she had post 'Halcyon' would suggest any forthcoming releases should remain top 10/15 for a good month or so... and considering 'Love Me Like You Do' is one of the best selling songs of the year (and now promoted to the title of single #1 of this era). I'd say its done bad!

Will probably shoot up now, being used for about 2 minutes in an ITV advert for their 2016.

I noticed that too, really hope it works because I'm loving 'Army' right now. A little 'Love Me Like You Do'-esque but different enough.

On first hearing army I thought it was a complete atrocity but I must say I've done the biggest U-turn on any recent song that I can remember... I absolutely adore it. The second half of the song is LIFE. wub.gif

Really hoping the second (and future) singles can really turn around this era for Ellie. I feel that she has suffered from over-exposure this year, which might be why people are necessarily jumping on board all the new material.

"Keep on Dancin'" to smash if it becomes a single though - need to give "Army" another listen.

The video has helped me love the song more, it's incredibly relatable and makes the song connect more. It just goes to show you don't need a massive budget to make an incredible video.
