I'm glad she spoke out and she provided evidence for all the emails and the fact she was told to sing a Pink song.....HOWEVER she doesn't seem to talk about the fact she worked as a Pink tribute act for years before X-Factor. She also claims that she kept being pushed to talk about Pink yet when you watch her audition she seems to love discussing her and going into detail? Plus she said she dropped the microphone to the floor and yet on TV she 'threw' it backwards...is she saying there was some magic editing her?

I remember her speaking at the time that she was forced to sing a P!nk song and had 5 other songs lined up that she wanted to do instead

We can all look down on her for the way she reacted but at the end of the day it always looked like a set up and the producers probably knew full well that she’d blow up the way she did and that’s why they let her audition. It’s yet another example of this show abusing the mental health of contestants just to boost ratings.

There have been numerous videos about how X Factor - and reality tv in general - is manipulated and what we're shown isn't at all the truth. From the contestants being shown 'in first class' on planes literally brought in for a photo op then shunted back to standard, to the punishing contract where in order to even audition for XF you have to sign away the rights to any material you've published or created yourself for something like 5 years to Syco.

The contracts are tight so most people aren't able to spill the beans, even big acts like 1D and Little Mix.

So with that in mind, really can you blame the woman? She was made a mockery of on live tv for doing as she was asked to.

For me, ultimately what it boils down to, is the situation may have transpired very differently if she actually sang it well. I've watched a few of her recent videos on her channel and... sure she can hold a note, but her sound just isn't very good (also seems to be using some sort of pitch corrector as there's a nasty electronic twang in her voice).

For someone who says it was her dream to be on the show, she really didn't seem to know much about it. For instance, would she really expect the producers to play the third party instrumentals from karaoke-version.com, rather than clear the actual instrumental for use??? I don't really think her "receipts" tell us anything shocking or new.

I do however feel sorry for her that the producers gave her the P!nk angle, and forced her to sing the song. I don't doubt for a second they told her to sing that song, or that they had a pre-determined narrative for her the moment they found out she was a tribute act. But she was given a second song.

Also she claims in her video that she never returned to the stage, and her dad went on the stage by himself? But it's clearly right there in the footage, no way is that doctored. Which would either have to be a lie on her part, or she was so distraught that it's warped her sense of events from that day.

So yeah, a tricky one. They didn't treat her well, I don't think anyone would doubt that. But I find it hard to swallow that the entire situation was concocted by the producers because they KNEW she would react that way... how would they know that. Lots of contestants have a bad experience, they don't get the response from the judges they were after, but most just walk off and deal with it. She went from 0-100 real quick, she probably was having some form of an anxiety attack but even after all this time there seems to be a lack of accountability on her part for her actions and what she could have done differently.

Just to ask if I missed with Misha B and Zoe Alexander speaking out about the X Factor who else has spoken about their time on the X Factor.

I thought it was horrible they treated I think it was Ceri Rees who auditioned 4 times and came back in 2011 that was awful.

I can’t understand any defence for the producers here. No matter how she tells it, they clearly lead her down the garden path. So she got a second song. She was dressed up as Pink FFS, it wasn’t going to make any difference. So they may not have thought she’d react the way she did. They were still going to ridicule her over ‘you want to be yourself but you sang Pink!!!1!’ Her blowing her top was just a goldmine for them, a bonus. And as for footage not being doctored-maybe her dad did go up on his own at some point but it didn’t make the final cut? Or she just can’t remember it well. Either way she clearly had and still has mental health issues and that was exploited by the producers and that really isn’t on. X Factor could have refused to use her audition but her humiliation was just too good for the ratings. You can try and spin it anyway you want and she’s a fairly easy target to rip apart but her treatment was still disgusting.
