We've made it kids, we've got to the final heat of a mid pandemic Melfest without any outbreaks (in the country with the least amount of restrictions as well, whodathunk?) and we're all ready for the direct finalists tracks to be available after the show finishes. And we've got a previous champion returning to defend the title for the first time since 2004 (there was a phase where this was the norm in the early 00s where they'd usually qualify directly and come about 8th but no higher - prediction of things to come?) and the former twinkpop star who's now too the wrong side of 30 to count as a twink but WILL HE BE POPULAR? Oh and also the one from Alcazar who almost fell over on stage in 2014 and various other bitches.

Will Mello 2021 remain a two horse race or will there be a late challenger from the last heat? Join us in about half an hours time to find out *.*

The quality this year has been getting better with each heat and I've got high hopes for Tess, The Mamas and Eric tonight.

Also, only 2 hours until 'Still Young' gets hammered by mig on Spotify *.*

Tess’s song banged but kinda worried it might be a bit too ‘fun4gays’ to go through!

Love Tess’ song - not as much as most of Alcazar’s entries or Lina’s from 2019 but still channelling the disco revival perfectly, and the speaking bits are already iconic *.*

Lovad’s song was a real bore for me, I don’t see how that will be escaping last.

'In The Middle' didn't hit like 'Move' but I'd be surprised if they didn't make it direkt based on good will.

Really liked In The Middle, I don’t actually think it’s much less competitive than Move! Because that turned out to be a surprise winner for me anyway.

I felt a bit sorry for poor Ashley in the interview, perhaps they should do it in English although so she’s not left out.

Really got nothing from Sannex at ALL and feel it would be a waste of an AC spot but Clara is <3 superb Swedish indie-pop and a very pleasant surprise!

Loved that! Did anyone else get ATC vibes from the chorus?

I definitely stand by what I said about Eric’s song based on the clip.

It sounds like all of the dance music in the UK top ten at the moment (just without the deep vocal) so it’s sure to be popular and would be a very on trend Eurovision entry but as with all those dance songs, I just like it but don’t love it.

The finalists are more locked in than usual, so it’s a definite battle for AC and I can’t really call it, I just know it won’t be Lovad in the mix!

Catching up after a pause for dinner - loved Saade but felt like The Mamas didn’t have the same magic as last year.

Good start, I’d say the two that went out are among my bottom three of the year overall.

Deserved place in the next round for Clara there, maybe she can kick Efraim Leo into 5th?

"In The Middle" how fitting as that's probably where they will end up on the scoreboard in the final. Anyways.
Eric's isn't exactly my favorite, but I think he's got the most well rounded song and performance that would smash at Eurovision. As much as I hate to admit it.
