Happy Friday one and all, it's time once again for my personal top 20 singles this week. Are McFly about to break through the four week barrier with 'Touch The Rain' at number one, or will new singles from Dido, Fleur East and the return of Niall Horan prove too strong a challenge? Here's your answer...

CHART COMMENTARY

Registering our 21st new number one of 2019, Niall Horan scores his third solo chart topper with consummate ease this week, as McFly are ousted from the top after three weeks in control. It's actually the former One Direction star's second number one of the year, following his guest appearance on Julia Michaels' single 'What A Time' back in February, but his first new solo single since 'Finally Free' made #3 in July last year.

'Nice To Meet Ya' is the first single from his forthcoming second solo album, due to hit the shelves next spring, and is the follow up to his global smash debut solo effort 'Flicker' back in 2017. That album produced four top 10 hits on my chart including his first solo chart topper 'Too Much To Ask', which was halfway through its five week run at number one exactly two years ago this week. 'Nice To Meet Ya' is a marked change in sound for Niall, more upbeat than some of his previous singles but actually just as enjoyable. We await to see if his second album produces more hits of this stature, but for now it's a pleasure to have him back.

Your new McFly 'lost' song of the week - and the second highest new entry at #4 - is 'Dare You To Move'. As we said last week, it's less now about what happens in Week 1 and where we'll find it two weeks hence. 'Touch the Rain' dips to #2 this week but is still performing well - by this time in seven days it will be one of my top 10 biggest singles of the year.

Onto our other two new arrivals this week, then. Dido is gearing up for the release of a special edition of her hit album 'Still On My Mind' next month, enhanced with several new tracks and all new artwork. 'Just Because' is one of those songs, and it becomes the album's fourth top 10 hit this week, entering at #9.

Fleur East was last in our chart at the very beginning of the year, when her new single 'Favourite Thing' returned her to my top 3 in January, four years after her first and only hit (and number one) with 'Sax' in 2015. This week, 'Figured Out', the follow-up to that hit - and soundtrack to the latest Debenhams TV advert - enters at #14.

FLASHBACK TOP 10

Your chance to see how my personal top 10 was looking on this week in the last 20 years. This week in 2000: All Saints brew up their 'Black Coffee' at the top spot, plus classic hits from Zombie Nation, Delerium feat. Sarah McLachlan and Architechs feat. Nana

1. (HNE) ALL SAINTS - Black Coffee

2. (1) ZOMBIE NATION - Kernkraft 400
3. (NE) DELERIUM FEAT. SARAH MCLACHLAN - Silence
4. (2) ARCHITECHS FEAT. NANA - Body Groove
5. (NE) TEXAS - In Demand
6. (NE) EMINEM - The Way I Am
7. (6) ANASTACIA - I'm Outta Love
8. (3) S CLUB 7 - Natural
9. (5) MODJO - Lady (Hear Me Tonight)
10. (4) MELANIE B - Tell Me
