What's your favourite Rih album opener?
Until very recently it would've been one of them that was singles but 'Consideration' has grew massively, probably my favourite now! |

i don't think its the best song, but the opening of SOS is certainly the best opening of those songs to me, and the the album by proxy

Pon de Replay is my fave of the songs but in terms of an opening statement, gotta be Mad House

Really can't choose between 'Mad House' and 'Consideration'. 'Mad House' is the PERFECT opener for 'Rated R', along with that invitation to 'come on in...' etc too. And 'Consideration' starts with some of my favourite lyrics from any Rihanna song:
' I come fluttering in from Neverland Time can never stop me' |

I went for 'Mad House' one of my all time fave album openings! Along with 'Gimme More' for 'Blackout'!

Consideration
'I got to do things My own way darling Will you ever let me?' Says everything you need to know about Anti. Great opener. |

Umbrella. Doesn't Jay Z literally say "Rihanna, good girl gone bad" right at the beginning?

in reverse place
8th - Phresh Out The Runway - just awful! One of the very few Rihanna related tracks I can honestly say I don’t like one bit. 7th - You Da One is one of her worst ever tracks for me and as an opener isn’t really that great compared to some of what’s on the album as well so I’d say that’s her next weakest opener. 6th - Pon De Replay - a strong opener but not one of my favourites overall. But it’s the best song in terms of opening the album. 5th - Consideration - definitely one what’s grown a lot over time! A nice opening and one of the more different sounding tracks on the album too. 4th - SOS - A Smash! The first time I really took notice of her so I hold fond thoughts / memories of this and it starts off the album very well. 3rd - Madhouse - Short and sweet but a fantastic intro. Come on come in come in In. We were sold from the off. 2- S&M - Na Na Na come on. Another perfect intro. The loudest track on the album kicking off her imperial phase album. This was the perfect opening track for the album. 1- Umbrella. I couldn’t put anything other than this at #1. One of the best pop songs of all time. Little Miss Sunshine Rihanna where you at? Overall she’s had 6 strong opening tracks. TTT, and Unapologetic weren’t the best track listing wise though. They both deserved better opening tracks. Where Have You Been would’ve been a better opening track for Talk that Talk. This post has been edited by Jordan Lee: 11th April 2020, 11:48 AM |

'Consideration', an album track almost matching 10-weeks-at-#1 smash Umbrella

I have to give Consideration my vote because of SZA's involvement
Mad House is a major vibe too, and sets the tone of the album perfectly! |
