Bebe has confirmed on Twitter that she's releasing new music next month Her debut full-length album Expectations is due out this year, it's anyone's guess as to what previous material may appear (Meant to Be is a definite I'd say but anything else.... who knows). Nevertheless, I'm really excited to hear it and I'm confident she'll deliver.

Meant To Be is probably the lead. She would be crazy not to have it as the lead! Looks set to smash in the U.K. too.

Omg finally, at least we the EPs to tide us over but it'll be fab to finally have an actual album! She has felt for ages like one of those who will never have an album but she's finally got her hit with Meant To Be so now's a good time ofc.

2 Souls On Fire is a bit more Bebe & Quavo, like a duet instead of him having the basic guest rap third verse. Ferrari is slow & soulful (sort of) too but I much prefer both of these to Meant To Be. I think I’ve overlooked Bebe in the past but this album is shaping up to be really great

I agree with your summary there Andrew, it's varied and there's enough happening for 14 tracks not to feel too long or full of filler, yet it works together as a cohesive package.

My biggest problem with the album is the lyrics - full of pretentious and cringey lyrics, especially 'I'm A Mess' and 'Self Control' :')

Once again I don't think this is the case, I just don't think people really know who she is yet. Meant To Be is her only UK hit and it felt very much like a fluke - most of the public still have no idea who she is, even if they like Meant To Be.

I expected about #25 and it was only about 600 copies behind that so I'm not surprised, but I am disappointed as it deserves much better

She is prtty much a feature in the US, bc it's basically a poppy FGL track, but over here Meant To Be was a fluke becasue it's basically tailored to Heart but is poppy enough with a solid melody so that younger leaning stations went for it too. It's an easy listen that sticks out a bit from what's out atm.


Anyway listened to the album and I find it pretty meh, at best.

The songs we've heard are great and there's flashes of good stuff, she is a great pop writers and there's melodies here but all together the songs are just... so dull. The whole album really dragged, especially the last stretch up to Meant To Be. There's no identity, her biggest hit is a country leaning pop track and she's trying to do this whole dark pop thing, idk what it's trying to do really but it's... not for me I half expected them to go down a more Meant To Be route but tbf they'd have had to start the whole album again for what was probably like the 8th time.

Oops I was expecting about #10 with ~8k, because of Meant To Be and all her collaborations. And my iTunes was messed up and had her as the top pre order above Ariana etc, but I realised that was wrong when she was still at the top when you looked at the pre orders in alphabetical order :’)

This is probs my album of the year Meant To Be does stick out but other than that and maybe I Got You I’d say she is carving out an identity for herself with the dark/urban leaning pop.

Surely Self Control has to smash?

I think the album was released a bit quickly tbh with not a lot of time for pre-orders which would have been handy during ‘Meant To be’ promo.

Expected to debut around 20-25 on billboard with sales of 7-8k. Absolute tragic!
