We may have just collectively got Mollie King BACK in the iTunes Top 40 but the fun doesn't stop there. We'll be celebrating the last 15 years of Buzzjack with a favourite pastime of the forum which is of course voting in polls. Taking inspiration from the successful format the Artist Forums have been using we'll be putting the biggest songs of the past 15 years head to head. Here's how it will work.

In theory, the year-end top 64 for each year will partake. However to avoid repeats the song will only be put in the first year it made the top 64, and the few positions below 64 are added to make up the difference. Any songs that made the top 64 of 2005 will likewise not be put in the 2006 round and not be a part of the game. The titles will be seeded by pitting the year-end #1 with the #64, and so on as would often happen in actual sport. Of course, year-end positions often don't correlate to BuzzJack tastes so we could very well see some tough match-ups even in the opening stage of the competition. In each round half of the competing songs will be kicked out until there is one standing. The top 4 of each year will go to the Grand Finale to determine the ultimate champion of the BuzzJack Boxing Ring.

To vote simply highlight your favourite of each pairing.

A new round will open every few days so make sure to get your votes in quickly.

2008: Semi-Final Results
24 v 14 | Coldplay - Viva La Vida vs. Killers - Human 
22 v 16 | Kings Of Leon - Sex On Fire vs. September - Cry For You

Coldplay easily beat Killers here which means they'll be taking on Kings of Leon in the final (even if from a quality stand point Coldplay vs Killers should've been the final). The only non-band and female left in the running in September loses out and will be playing for the lesser prize of third place. September was of course very lucky to get this far in the first place having only beaten Estelle by one vote in Round 4. KoL even moreso given Utah Saints and Sam Sparro nearly managed to defeat them, it'd be quite something if they now won the year.

lol at the song no-one likes reaching the final! It and Something Good '08 were narrowly my 3rd and 4th favourite songs in the first round draw (my 1st and 2nd faves dropped out at that point) so I wasn't pleased to choose between them then. Delighted one has ended up coming this far, but this is surely Coldplay's to win now and I'm happy with that.

'Sex On Fire' has done amazingly well to get this far - I'm sure 'Viva La Vida' has a free win here though. (As it deserves).

I guess between this and MCR winning the 2006 round this whole competition is proving to be surprisingly fertile ground for rock hits for some reason. Unusual for BuzzJack but not complaining!

I wonder how well they’ll do in the final round. I’d guess that 2008’s 4 would be predicted to perform poorly, maybe VLV aside, but maybe those who are taking part do lean towards preferring popular rock hits against popular RnB hits, say.
